On our way home I could feel myself calming down after the appointment with the doctor. I couldn’t believe she put such a fright in me just because I have an iron deviancy. Like really now. I wanted to phone Dr. Jacobs and find out who else he could recommend because if I ever get a call like that again and it’s just something like your blood pressure is high or you need to take a fucking multi-vitamin I will lose my shit. As I was calming down, I could feel how exhausted I actually was after that appointment. I unbuckled my seatbelt and moved closer to Romeo, I put my head on his shoulder holding on to his arm. He was the one that kept me grounded in everything and I need that more than ever now. “You okay angel?” “Just tired, I think the stress of everything took it’s toll on me.” I closed my eyes and was out almost immediately, clearly, I was very tired.

Jenn was out even before she got comfortable. I was so mad at that doctor for putting her through this stress, I mean they wanted her blood pressure to stay down how on earth will she get that right if your doctor calls you and tells you she wants to see you. I mean I’m sure even my blood pressure was through the roof. When we stopped at home, I moved slowly I didn’t want to wake her. As I picked her up, she woke up “I can walk Romeo.” “No, I’m carrying you.” “You sure?” “Yes, I’m sure.” I carried her to the room and closed the block out curtains, which meant the whole room was dark. “Can I get you anything?” “No, I’m good.” I kissed her on the forehead. “Sleep well my angel.” Then I walked out of the room. When I got down stairs Lucas was waiting for me. “Sorry boss.” “My office.” Was all I said.
We walked into my office and again Lucas apologized “I’m so sorry boss I know you didn’t want to get involved in the cocaine business but I swear when you meet with them and we all come to an agreement you don’t need to see them again or be involved in any of it again.” “I better not be involved Lucas; I gave you carte blanch I wanted you to organize everything and not come to me for this shit.” “It’s the Jalis Cartel boss, they know you are the are the boss and they need to speak to you first.” “Fine I know, Ricardo told me, did you arrange a time and place?” “Yes, tomorrow at your office at Club X.” “Good my own territory I like it.” “I thought you would prefer them coming to you rather us going to them.” “You are correct, why so soon?” “We need a shipment as soon as possible boss, there is not much left.” “Okay good. I take it you and Ricardo will also be in attendance as you guys will be running this thing.” “Yes, off course.” “Well then I’ll see you tomorrow.” “Thank you, boss.” When Lucas was eventually out of my office, I poured myself a hefty drink, I needed it after the day I had. I didn’t want to get involved and now I’m involved yet again, but this is something I won’t tell Jenn at all. When I was done with my drink, I went to see what Luna was making for dinner I wanted Jenn to have her comfort food which was the Lasagna and some garlic bread. “Hi Mr. Bianchi.” Luna said as I walked into the kitchen. “Luna I just want to find out what you making for dinner?” “I was thinking some pulled pork.” “No rather make some lasagna and garlic bread if you don’t mind it’s Jenn’s favorite and she had a rough day.” “No problem.”
I walked back to my office, my phone started ringing. ‘Fuck can’t I just let it go to voice mail?’ I thought I wasn’t in the mood for more problems but when I looked at the caller ID and I saw it was Tom calling I had to take it. “Tom Hello how are you?” “Hi Romeo I’m good and you?” “No complaints, everything is falling into place.” “Oh yes I heard you had a new CEO for Bradford Rynn Inc.” “News travels fast.” “Especially if its good news.” “Indeed. Is there something I can help you with or are you just congratulating me on a job well done?” “No, it’s Brad.” “Oh, fuck what now?” “He rocked up here in fact he is still here we are trying to keep him away from the alcohol but it’s not working.” “Send him to rehab Tom, he is not your problem.” “He is still our friend Romeo.” “He actually stopped being my friend when he tried to strangle my pregnant wife.” “Wait what? He said you assaulted him.” “Oh, really now, well he will make any excuse not to take responsibility for his actions.” “That is true. Jenn is pregnant?” “Yes, Tom Jenn is pregnant.” “And how do you feel about it, I know you never wanted children.” “With Jenn I do as many as we can get.” “Jeez Romeo what real love can’t do.” “That is true but back to Brad. What are you going to do?” “Well with you putting light on the situation not that I believed Brad, I’m going to give him an ultimatum.” “Well good luck to you, Jenn gave it to him to and he turned around and walked out of his office he destroyed. I hope you have more luck than we did because we are done with him.” “You are serious?” Tom asked. “Dead serious Tom we are done, I’m handling his businesses because it’s Jenn’s and that is that, I’m doing it for her not him.” “But you will pay him his salary?” “Off course I will, I’m not that bad, I’ll even let the company pay for rehab if he takes it seriously this time.” “Fine I’ll see what I can do.” “Good luck Tom you going to need it.”
