Romeo
When we walked into Bruno’s office and Josh was sitting there going through paper work it just looked right. I realized there and then I made the right decision and when he told me what he found in the books I was definitely convinced. We went into the conference room where I introduced Jennifer to all the staff, I could here, how relieved she was when I told them I’ll be running all the companies but she will be the face of the companies. I know my fiancé and I know this is not what she wants and I will never pressure her to do something she doesn’t want to do. I will push her in the playroom yes but other than that not a chance. The meeting went well or should I say as well as could be expected with all the complaints everyone had regarding management and how the place where run. There were a few scandals that came out as well, some of the people that was stealing money was highlighted, Bruno was on top of that list. When I looked at Jennifer, I could see she wasn’t with us anymore and I also knew what happened with her father this morning must have taken its toll on her and she didn’t sleep last night so I decided to take a 10-minute break. “Let’s reconvene in say 10 minutes get yourselves some coffee and come back here.” Jennifer was still sitting like she didn’t hear me at all. “Jenn” She didn’t respond. I walked to her and touched her arm “Jenn” “Oh sorry what?” when she looked around and saw everyone was gone, she looked at me surprised. “Where are the others?” “I gave them a 10-minute break I think one of the guys should take you home, you look a bit tired.” She leaned into me I thought she was going to hug me but she whispered in my ear “Not too tired for tonight.” Oh, that was what was going through her mind. “Okay darling but I still think Levi should take you home then you can rest, what happened earlier with your dad probable took a toll on you.” “I am tired.” “Well then you go home and I’ll call you with instructions.” “Oh, I like that.” “Good now go.” She kissed me before I called Levi to take her home.
When Jennifer was gone the others were coming back into the conference room, I took my seat at the head of the table. When everyone was seated, I stood up “I know we are all tired of talking so I just have one last announcement to make.” Josh was sitting to my right. I looked at him “Josh here will be running everything for the rest of the month so any complaints put it in writing and bring it to him or if there is anything else we need to know bring it to him as well.” Josh looked at me he couldn’t believe what I just did. Everyone got up walked pass Josh and slapped him on the back. I thought that was a nice touch especially after everything this staff went through. When everyone was out of the conference room Josh said “Are you crazy I don’t know how to run a casino?” “No Josh I’m not crazy you know people and at this stage that is what we need I need to separate the good from the bad.” “And you think I’ll be able to do that?” “Yes, Josh I have all the confidence in you, you just need to get your confidence back and do it. You have all the managers that run their own departments you just need to manage the management team.” “I’ll do my best.” “That is more than Bruno did only thing is you won’t be on leave like the rest of the staff but I’ll make it worth your while Josh I promise.” “I won’t disappoint you, Romeo.” “I know you won’t. Now show me what you found in Bruno’s books.” We went to the office where Josh showed me how Bruno was borrowing money to customers, the thing is I do this in my casino’s but I do it, I’m the loan shark not someone that works for me. It’s a way of getting people to play more money than they can effort. Is it ethical? Probable not but we are in the business of making money not saving souls. But in this case Bruno was in the wrong because he was doing it for himself and not for Brad it was clear Brad’s money was used but it wasn’t put back when the money was paid back double the amount that was borrowed. A bit steep even for me. I showed Josh how to stop it and how to get the money back from the clients. I also told him to just get the amount they borrowed no interest; it goes against everything I stand for but Brad’s casino will have no part in my businesses.
When I walked out of Josh’s office, I had a motivated Josh and a staff that was ready to work I even offered them bonusses for Christmas which means everyone was happy. Happy staff, productive staff, more money. It’s simple math’s. When I got outside, I got in the G-Wagon and Lucas asked me “Where to boss?” “Back to Brad’s office.” When we got back to Brads office, I called Sonja and asked her to get all the staff to the conference room. I was very happy that Sonja was still there. When everyone was in the conference room it was silent everyone looking at me with big eyes. “Like you all probable heard this morning Brad is out.” I gave that time to sink in, one said “Like out out?” “Yes, like out out.” Then everyone started to clap hands a big round of applause was heard in the conference room. Then someone else asked “What does that mean for us?” “I’m glad you asked it means you are all going on holiday until the 3rd of January and I will be paying you bonusses.” There were sounds of Wow and really and that is awesome. Then someone else asked “And after the 3rd?” “You will be coming back to work; I’ll be running the place but Jennifer will be the face of the company.” “Really?” Sonja asked “Yes really.” “Thank you, Romeo, thank you.” Sonja kept on saying. When the good news was shared and everyone was happy, I went back to Brad’s office to make sure there was nothing we missed…
