Elijah took me to the new bakery I got as a wedding present from Romeo, I was so excited when we stopped there, I didn’t even wait for Levi or Elijah to open the car door for me I wanted to get in my bakery. I unlock the door with the key Romeo got me, the keyholder was even a cup cake, he was so sweet, and walked into the space, it was absolutely awesome, the counter was already put in, Romeo had 2 display fridges put in a new state of the art barista machine, when I walked into the kitchen I had my hand in front of my mouth I couldn’t believe what I saw the kitchen was twice as big as my other bakery and it had 4 extra stoves in also the best money could buy, there was a walk in fridge for storage and a smaller freezer next to it. Everything was more than I ever hoped I could have in my new bakery, I decided I’m going to make this store my flagship store, I will need more bakers than I thought I would, we can bake 3 times more than my other shop there is way more space in the display fridge so more variety of cupcakes and muffins. This is going to be the money maker of that I was sure and it was located at a perfect spot. I took out my notepad and made a few notes, like more variety cupcakes, variety of muffins, maybe I should get a baker than can concentrate just on croissants, different kinds and we can put a few tables and chairs in the store as well actually more than in my other bakery that will also bring more customers because they can sit and eat at the bakery. I also decided I need a new manager for the other bakery because I will need Eleanor here, her talent and work ethics, I need here to make a success of this.
When we were done at the new bakery, I asked Elijah to take me to the old one. When we stopped there, I was surprised to see that the line to get into the bakery was standing outside. This is really good I have so much hope and plans for both bakeries. I walked in and found two barista’s making coffee and two cashiers that was helping. The one barista greeted me and the girl I appointed as cashier, greeted me and told me how glad they where that I’m there. I greeted them and thanked them for their hard work before I walked into the kitchen, the kitchen was buzzing you wouldn’t say it was already after 10 in the morning by this time we are normally done with the baking for the day and are helping in front. “Jennifer, how are you child?” Eleanor said as she came towards me to give me a hug. “I’m good” “are you sure, I saw the papers you must have been scared shitless when you thought Romeo was dead?” “I was but luckily they found him and his okay.” “I can’t believe it; it’s really a miracle.” Not really, I thought to myself. “What’s going on here?” I changed the subject. “Well child since you’ve been gone the bakery got so busy we need to bake double as much and then we are sold out at the end of the day.” “That’s absolutely amazing Eleanor.” “Hi Jennifer.” Matilda said. I just waved at her. Then there where two other bakers. I whispered to Eleanor “And them?” “I’m training them for the new bakery.” “Eleanor what would I have done without you?” “Luckily you don’t need to find out child?”
“Do you have time for a quick coffee I need to talk to you about the new bakery.” “Yes, off course I have enough people in the kitchen.” “Good.” She grabbed herself a coffee and I asked for a decaf the look on her face told me she knew I was pregnant. “No?” she said as we sat down. “Yes.” “Oh my God Jennifer congratulations I’m so happy for you.” “Thank you we are happy to, but now back to the bakery.” “Yes, I’m listening.” “Eleanor you should see the place it’s more than double the size of this one the kitchen has 6 ovens and all the best money can buy, there are 2 display fridges in the front of the bakery. Eleanor, I want you to run that bakery, we will need more bakers I was thinking one that can just concentrate on croissants, making our menu a bit bigger then the muffins and a bigger variety of cupcakes.” “Okay that sounds very good but I have a suggestion, Matilda is already very good in everything here the 2 others I hired is just as good, let me get 3 more bakers and I’ll run both bakeries for you, I mean you won’t be able to stay on your feet that long anymore and I’m sure you don’t want to work in the kitchen anymore I can do both Jennifer.” “Are you sure? Isn’t it to much?” “No not at all.” “Obviously we can talk about a car maybe something with our name on and petrol allowance as you going to be between the bakeries.” I said very excited. It felt like I was going to jump out of my chair. “We can do that yes.”
“Eleanor you are a God send.” “No Jennifer, you helped me when I was almost on the street you are the God send.” “Let’s not get into that shall we, you helped me more than anyone ever could, you are my sounding board the one I could tell all of my secrets to.” Well, most. “I’m still here for you Jennifer.” “Thank you, Eleanor, do you need me to put an ad in the paper for more bakers?” “No, it’s not necessary I know a lot of people that need work and that are willing to do what it takes to make anything a success I’ll ask around we might just need 2 barista’s and 2 cashiers if you want to advertise for them, because these 4 get along very well and it works.” “No problem I’ll do that. Eleanor, I really can’t thank you enough.” “Stop it child let’s just make the next bakery just as prosperous as this one.” “We will.” Eleanor was going back to the back and I was getting myself a chocolate filled cupcake when my phoned rang, I was so excited when I saw it was Romeo. “Hi husband.” “Hi Jenn, I need your help.” Clearly, he was not in the mood for small talk and something did sound wrong. “What is it?” “Your father.”
