An hour later Sonja had the staff in the conference room, when I walked in, they looked petrified, the one guy actually looks physically sick. “Hi everyone I’m Romeo Bianchi, Jennifer’s fiancé for you who don’t know. I’m going to take over the business as soon as Brad steps down.” The faces changed a little bit but not much. “I want to apologize for his outburst this morning his just taking a bit of strain.” The girl that took Sonja by the hand earlier put her hand up. “Yes?” “Mr. Bianchi.” “Call me Romeo please and what is your name?” “I’m Linda, can I speak freely without loosing my job?” “Linda rest assured I’m not firing anyone as long as you don’t steal from the company you are safe.” “Okay Thank you.” “Well then go on.” Everyone looked at her like she was going crazy, “Speak your mind.” “Today was not the first time he lost it like that, I’m very sure that if any of us didn’t need this job we would have left already.” “So, this is a normal occurrence.” The guy that looked like he wanted to puke said “Yes Romeo it’s a weekly occurrence and lately it’s getting worse.” “Maybe the lately part is my fault and I truly apologize for it. I will talk to him, but please don’t resign, I’ve looked through all your records and CV’s and all of you are very good at what you do and I know Jennifer and I appreciate you guys immensely. The only thing I asked of you is to not steal from the company or do criminal things through the company.” Everyone nodded and acknowledge what I said. Another hand popped up “Romeo can you tell us how long Mr. Rynn will still be the head of this company?” “Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for you there what I can say is he won’t be in the office for the rest of the week. I’ll be running the business this week.” The sound out of everyone’s lips was a huge sigh of relieve. Fuck what was Brad doing to these poor people? “Thank you.” Everyone said in unison.
After the meeting Sonja and I went back to Brad’s office “Sonja I need a meeting with all the head of departments, the casino’s people every head of every business.” “I’m just privilege to this company.” “Well, I’ll send you all the names and you tell them they need to be in Brad’s office tomorrow morning at 9 am, no excuses and if they ask you on who’s authority you tell them the person that is taking over all Brad’s companies Mr. Bianchi.” “I’ll do that.” She said with a little smile. When she left, I phoned the guy of HR to come to my office, when he entered, I saw it was the one that looked like he wanted to be sick. “Josh come in.” He walked over to my desk very carefully. “Sit down Josh we need to talk.” “Did I do something wrong?” “No not at all I want to congratulate you for keeping things going under these circumstances I’m sure you have a lot of complaints on your desk that you can’t do anything about.” He looked a bit skeptical. “I do.” “Well bring them to me everyone that has to do with Brad.” “That’s all of them.” “Well then bring them all to me I want to see what people are complaining about. Is it money, time off? What is it?” “Mostly it’s because of his way of speaking to people and bonusses.” “Well bring them all I need them.” “Okay I’ll bring them.” He got up before I call him back “And Josh, I take it you are getting most of the screaming and shouting?” He just looked at me “I don’t work like that. You don’t need to be afraid of me, as long as you do your work, I’m a fair and generous boss.” “Thank you, Romeo, that would be a relieve working for someone like you.” He turned around and went to his office that was when Sonja walked back into my office, I could see she was very near tears. “What’s wrong?” “Everyone swear at me and said they will not be coming to your meeting.”
“No problem, Sonja bring that list here.” She brought the list back to me and I dialed the first number the COO of the casino. “Bruno good day.” He answered with his deep voice. “Bruno it’s Romeo Biachi, I take it you are the dick that told Sonja you won’t be coming to my meeting?” “Yes and?” “Well, if you are not here, I will fire you.” “You don’t have that right.” “Oh yes I do or did you forgot I’m engaged to Jennifer and will be taken over all Brad’s businesses.” “I’m aware of that but not now!” He raised his voice at me. “Bruno, you have a chose you can make sure all your heads of each department are at my meeting tomorrow morning at 9 am or I can come there and fire the lot of you.” “You won’t dare?” “You know what Bruno; I’m firing you right now make sure your desk is cleared.” “You can’t do that.” “Fuck yes I can and I’ll come to the casino tomorrow morning and if you are still there, I will have you removed.” “Fuck of Biachi” Then he put the phone down in my ear. ‘Oh no you don’t.’ Josh knocked on my door and came in the look on my face must have scared him “Come in Josh.” He came with a stack of files in his hand. “Is this from all the companies?” “No, I only deal with this one and these are just from the few people that works here.” “Fuck, sit down.” Josh took a seat. “I saw on your CV you managed a lot more people at your previous job why are you just looking after this company?” “Mr. Rynn thought it best that each company has their own HR person.” I made a note of that. “Okay do you know anything about a Bruno?” “The COO of the casino?” “Yes, that one?” “A dick, the younger version of Mr. Rynn screams and shouts at all his people.” “Thank you, Josh, can you draw up a letter of resignation for Bruno also a letter stating we are letting him go.” The look on Josh’s face was priceless. “You sure?” “Yes, and I want it within the hour that fucker thinks he can talk to me like he did and put the phone down in my ear, he doesn’t know me at all.” “I’m on it.”
