I didn’t eat much at breakfast I was staring to feel sick again, I don’t know if it was morning sickness or the news I just heard. I was trying to process everything, my dad an alcoholic, my dad started drinking when my mom and brother died, my father was abusive towards me his whole life because he was a drunk, or was it because he was a drunk? Or was it just his personality? I would never know I mean I can’t remember him before my mom and brother passed away so I can’t remember how he was towards me. But I do know how he was afterwards and that is the thing, is that the real him or was it the alcohol. That is the only thing that went through my mind over and over again. Clearly Romeo noticed I didn’t eat much but he didn’t force me he knew what just happened was to much for me but I could see he was concern and I know why, like he said it wasn’t just me anymore I was growing a little human inside me. On our way out of the restaurant I asked Fred to pack me some salty biscuits and some cheese I might be able to eat that on the plane, I was sure there might be some on the plane as well but I had to make sure I had something to eat. I could see Romeo was happy with my request. We waited for Fred to come back with my take away bag. Lucas approached us and told Romeo everything was ready and the suitcases was in the SUV, clearly, we are going straight to the airport from here. When Fred came back, I thank him and Romeo told him to walk with us. Romeo helped me into the SUV, I looked at them while I waited for Romeo to get in the SUV, “Fred I want to thank you for everything you have done, please thank the men for me to.” Romeo gave him a thick envelope with money in, “Share that how you like or keep it to yourself it’s your choice.” “Thank you, Sir. Thank you, mam. Safe travels.” “Thank you, Fred.” I said out of the SUV.
When Romeo got back in the SUV he said “You ready to get away from this place.” I wasn’t really because it was really a beautiful place but I knew Romeo was more than happy we are leaving so all I said was “To our next adventure.” I could see Lucas smile in the mirror, clearly, he was also relieved we where leaving. When we got to the airport, Lucas drove and stopped right in front of the entry to the plane. Romeo jumped out and helped me to get out of the SUV then we moved to the plane, it was so nice and cool inside, outside it was a very hot summers day. “Good day Mr. and Mrs. Bianchi.” “Afternoon.” Clearly, we had new air hostesses as well, good because I was not in the mood for that other one that openly flirted with my husband. “’Good afternoon” I greeted them. We all took our seats and when Lucas and Elijah came in with our luggage the air hostess closed the doors and the pilot said we will take off in the next 10 minutes and the flight will be approximately be 30 hrs. Fuck I forgot how long the flight is going to be. But I was planning on sleeping most of the flight anyways. We put our safety belts on and Romeo grabbed my hand. “At least I know we can’t come back for at least 10 years.” “10 years? I asked him “Yes, we can’t travel this far with a baby he or she needs to be at least 10 years old before we can do this again.” “Oh really?” I asked him, because I got the idea it was the last time I’m seeing the Maldives ever again. “Yes really.”
Romeo
I wasn’t coming back not ever, and I’m using the long flight as an excuse for as long as I live. When we where safely in the air, I could breathe again, I knew there where no more men left of Sebastian’s cousin’s crew but you just never know but now, I feel relax, I’ve told Jenn everything from Sebastian’s cousin and her father, everything was out. I was worried because Jenn didn’t eat much at breakfast this morning “Aren’t you hungry?” I asked her. “I have my biscuits and cheese when I’m hungry but I will take a cup of tea.” “I’ll go tell them.” “Thank you.” I went to the kitchen and told the air hostess to bring Jenn a cup of tea and some crackers and cheese I poured myself a glass of scotch and went back to my seat. Jenn was looking out the window when I got back. “You okay Jenn?” “Yes, just thinking?” “About your dad?” “Yes. I was wondering was he always an asshole or was it the alcohol?” “Well, I can only tell you how I remembered him and the way he was with you was an absolute shock for me. He wasn’t like that in Uni that’s all I can tell you. I don’t know if it is the alcohol the money, marriage I don’t know what changed him.” “Well probable see how he is when he is out of rehab and his sober.” “Yes, we will get an idea then.” The air hostess came with a plate with cheese, crackers and a cup of tea. “Here you go mam?” “Thank you.” Jenn started to eat her crackers with some cheese which made me very happy at least she was getting something in. “Why are you smiling?” she asked me “You are eating, that makes me very happy.” “Well enjoy it while it last because when I’m done here, I’m going to go take a very long nap.” “You can sleep as long as you want angel as long as your health and happy I’m good.”
