Chapter 54
Romeo
I got up early the next morning I needed time to think about this plan of mine. I also didn’t want to disturb Jenn she needed her rest. I got ready for the day and dressed in one of my customize suits, I had a meeting later today at the office one I couldn’t miss. I asked Luna to make sure there is something ready to eat for Jenn when she woke up before I went to my office with the coffee, she gave me. I grabbed my note book and started to write what I think our marriage should be like and what I don’t want. On the top of the page, I wrote NO CHILDREN in capital letters that was a huge issue for me in the line of work I am I just don’t think children will be a good idea. Yes, you probable want to leave your legacy to your children but I’m quite content to let my legacy end with me. I just hope that is not a deal breaker for Jen. Then there was the big question do I tell her what I really do? I mean I’m going to insist on a driver and a bodyguard for her and she would want to know why. I didn’t tell my ex-wife because I wasn’t that involved when we stayed in Los Angeles, but being back in Las Vegas I’m very involved. That means my wife will need security. I wrote the pros and cons down of her knowing I’m in the Mafia. I don’t want to tell her exactly what I’m involved in that is illegal I just need her to understand why she needs security. This arrangement is going to be more complicated than I thought.

I woke up to an empty bed in darkness. I took my phone to make sure what time it is. When I checked it was past 10 am. I can’t remember when last I slept this late on a week’s day. I immediately phoned Eleanor to find out if everything was okay at the bakery. “Morning Jenn.” “Morning Eleanor sorry I’m only calling now. Is everything okay at the bakery?” “Yes, you don’t have to worry everything is great we got all the cupcakes out before the doors opened.” “Great, thank you Eleanor. I take it your friend could come in today?” “Yes, and she’s available if you want her permanently.” “That’s great news Eleanor. I’ll let you know how I’m feeling tonight maybe I’ll have to take of tomorrow as well.” “No worries, Jenn look after yourself.” “Thank you, Eleanor, I’ll call you later.” When I got out of bed, I felt relieved that everything was going well at my store without me. I never thought of bringing more people in to help I just thought I’ll always be there to do everything but clearly, I need help. When I looked at myself in the mirror I got a shock. The doctor said my face will be bruised but I didn’t expect this. I thought only my head where the injury was will be bruised but my forehead and part of my eye was blue as well. I would most definitely need that make up artist that is for sure. I got in the shower and took my time washing myself and washing my hair being careful where the stiches were. When I walked out of the shower, I realized I didn’t have anything to wear. I walked to Romeo’s closet looking for something of his to wear when I saw a single red dress hanging on the other side of the closet. With underwear and a pair of shoes. ‘Oh my God Romeo’ I thought he was just so thoughtful. I got dressed in the red dress and shoes and went looking for Romeo.
As I walked down the stairs it felt like someone was stabbing me in the head that was how my head started to throbbed. I grabbed at my head and reroute myself to the kitchen looking for some pain meds. “Morning Jennifer.” “Morning Luna, I need pain medication please my head is killing me.” I said while holding my head. “Let me go and get Mr. Romeo.” She disappeared and came back with Romeo. “Morning Jenn.” “Morning Romeo.” I said while holding my head still looking at the ground. “Here you go.” He gave me 2 pain killers the doctor prescribed. “You, my hero.” “That’s good to know.” He teased me. “My head was okay until I started walking now it feels like someone is stabbing me.” I was still looking down at the ground. He put his finger underneath my chin and made me look up at him. “Oh my God Jenn. I can understand why your head is killing you. I’m going to kill that fucker.” “You don’t mean that.” I told him. “Oh yes I do. Will you try and eat something and then come to my office.” “I’ll try and eat thank you.” I ignored the comment of him killing Kyle. “I would eat with you but I have a meeting with my PA quickly.” “No, it’s fine you go and work I’ll be okay.” He kissed me on the bruise and then left me alone with Luna. “What can I make you Jenn?” “Just toast Luna I’m not a big eater in the morning.” “What about toast with an egg? A bit more substance?” “Yes, okay toast and an egg sounds good.” I took my cup of coffee and walked out onto the patio looking out on Romeo’s back yard. It was so green and beautiful you can lose yourself here. Maybe I should read a book out here today. Then I remembered last nights discussion and the ‘arrange marriage’ thing between the two of us. I started to think how it will look in my head, what did I expect of something like this. Clearly it won’t be a normal marriage no love just a physical arrangement. Could I live with that? ‘Well Jenn what is the alternative, marrying someone your dad chooses; someone that will make you give up your dreams and try to control every aspect of your life.’ At least with Romeo I know he only wants to control things when it comes to sex and we already worked through those rules and I was happy with that. Only question will we have a big wedding if it is up to me, I’ll elope go to one of those chapels where an Elvis marry you, I mean we have a lot of them in Vegas. This is probable things I need to speak to Romeo about. When Luna called me to tell me my breakfast was ready, I was considering writing all my questions down. Maybe I still need to do that.
