What’s going on?” “Okay let me start with how I found out what’s going on.” “Just get on with it.” “Sonja and Josh told me I need to call them because your father was making trouble at the office and the casino.” “Okay, what kind of trouble?” “He rocked up at the office as drunk as a pirate and demanded to go up to the office, it took 2 security guards to get him out of the building and when they wanted to put him in a car, which Peter should have been driving, your father was driving himself.” “Wait what he drove drunk, where the fuck is Peter?” “I’m getting there Jenn.” “This happened at the casino as well the only thing is he slipped pass security and made a huge scene on the main floor he eventually got to the office where Josh ask security to take him out, he was driving himself there as well. Josh and the security got him into an Uber with a huge struggle.” “Okay but you haven’t answered me yet, where is Peter?” “Your dad fired him.” “He did what?” “Yes, you heard me he fired him, but I called Peter to find out what’s going on. Peter is still at the house he didn’t pack his bags yet; I told him to hide all the car keys.” “Okay crises diverted. He could have killed someone.” “He could have but the crises have not been diverted yet.” “What do you mean?” “I spoke to Arlo I wanted him to help while we are away, he told me your father is an alcoholic.” She started to laugh actually laugh. “No, his not, he just like to drink. He never overdo it like this. His probable upset because we took his company away from him. Now his throwing a tantrum so we will give it back to him.”
“Jennifer that is not what Arlo, Rufus or Tom says.” “What do you mean?” “They said it’s not the first time his been grabbing the bottle it started when your mom and brother died. He started to drink then very badly.” “I can’t remember that I was too young.” “I know Arlo said they should have dragged your father to a rehab center then but your father promised he will get himself under control.” “Okay?” “But the thing is he didn’t he was drinking two bottles a day, he realized that is the limit for him to function like a normal person. Arlo and them left it, but they made sure they where at every social event to keep you safe.” “Wait what? Keep me safe from what?” “From your dad, they knew he was emotionally abusive with you and they wanted to be there when he get’s out of hand.” “So, everyone knew my dad was drinking but didn’t think I should know?” “To be fair Jenn I didn’t know either, I just thought he was an ass.” “Okay and know his drinking more?” “Yes, according to Peter his been drinking excessively the past month that is why he was as bad as he was at the office and at the wedding, he was drunk there as well. The guys got him into a rehab center and he can’t leave not until me or you sign him out.” “What? His in a rehab center?” “Yes Jenn, he would have hurt someone and he could have gone to jail or worse kill himself.” “And what did the staff say.” “They are trying to clean up where your father messes, because when he doesn’t get his way, he throws bottles of alcohol at the walls.” “Oh my God.”

I couldn’t believe what Romeo was telling me. My father the prim and proper guy was an alcoholic and his friends where only attending social events for me. What the fuck? How didn’t I see this? To say I was in shock was an understatement. And his in rehab how did they get him there. “Jenn are you okay?” Romeo asked very concerned. “It’s a lot to process Romeo. How did they get him to rehab because I’m very sure he didn’t go out of his own free will.” “They drugged him.” “What?” “It was prescription drug Jenn nothing to worry about, we need to think about what is best for him now and getting sober is definitely what is best for him.” “I know, it’s just a lot.” “I know and I’m sorry I have to tell you but I didn’t want to wait. What do you want to do?” “No, we leave him in rehab if this is a thing that’s been going on for so many years he needs the help, I would like to know what triggered him to lose it again, but we leave him there and we continue with our honeymoon if we are there his going to keep on calling us to get him out.” “Are you sure?” “Yes, I’m sure, but I also need time to process everything you just said.” “I understand angel and I’ll give you all the time you need, he doesn’t have to become your problem I’ll sort him out.” “At the end of the day he is still my father and I’ll probable need to try and help him.” “I know but I don’t want you to put any stress on yourself remember it’s not just you anymore.” “I know, let me work through this and then I will tell you what I need.” “Whenever you are ready.” “Thank you, Romeo.” “Whatever you need angel I’m here for you, just remember you are not alone in this and you don’t have to deal with this at all if you don’t have to.”
