Very attractive CEO I must say, obviously not as attractive as Romeo but still attractive, as we walked towards them, I asked Romeo, “Is there something going on between the 2 of them?” “Not my problem if there is.” “Oh okay.” We approached them and John immediately extended his hand towards Romeo. “Romeo so nice to see you.” “Thank you for coming John this is my wife and the owner of this beautiful bakery Jennifer, Jennifer your new CEO John Dickson.” “Mr. Dickson so nice to meet you.” “No please call me John and it’s a pleasure to meet you to a shame we haven’t met before.” “Sonja how nice to see you.” “Hi Jenn I just want to clear something up.” “Yes, off course.” I said a bit confused “John and I didn’t come together.” I saw John looking at her. “No problem, Sonja, not our business if you did.” “Please come in get something to eat and drink.” John put his hand on her lower back and moved her through the crowed. “Oh, there is something brewing there.” I told Romeo. “Not our business Jenn.” “Just saying.” Romeo went to the others and introduced John to my father’s friends, I was surprised that all of them greeted and excepted him immediately. I could see Sonja was a little uncomfortable with his hand on her or was its excitement I saw as nerves. I decided that it wasn’t my problem as Romeo said and greeted the other people that arrived which was most of my regular clients. When everyone was there and they all had a drink and ate some hors deavours I asked them to take a seat, I asked Eva to sit on the end of the table I wanted to look at her while I practice my speech with her for a few days now so she knows it just as I did. I noticed Sonja and John was sitting next to each other, I couldn’t help it, yes it wasn’t my problem or business but what juicy information it will be. I’m sure John is Romeo’s age and Sonja mine so there is a big age gap but yet again it works for me and Romeo so yes, he is right not my problem. When everyone was seated, the waiters came in and put a plate of 6 cupcakes in front of each guest. They also came with the wine and filled the wine glasses with the wine that pairs with the cupcake.
“Good evening everyone welcome to my new Bakery Jennifer 2.0.” Everyone was giving me a round of applause. “Thank you and thank you for coming, tonight we will have a wine pairing with me favorite cupcakes if we can start on the Left, you have a Pomegranate Cupcake paired with a Pinotage Rose, while savoring the taste of the cupcake take a sip of your wine, the wine will bring out the pomegranate of the cupcake.” I watched everyone take a bite of there cupcake and then take a sip of their wine. If the look on their faces was any indication they were enjoying it a lot. Romeo smiled and winked at me, clearly he liked it. “Okay ladies and gentleman now for your second cupcake a pumpkin cupcake paired with a nice Pinotage.” I watched how everyone took a bite and then a sip of there wine, there was talking around the table, mostly about how they love how the wine brings out the pumpkin and how great the two compliments each other. I was in 7th Heaven so far so good. When everyone put their wine down and looked at me, I went on “The next cupcake is called Makataan it’s one of our specialize cupcakes because the Makataan fruit is a wild watermelon and are indigenous to South Africa it is paired with a wine called Gewurztraminer, Gewurztraminer is the type of grape that is use to make this nice white wine.” Everyone seemed very interested in the Makataan cupcake probable because it’s something new something that is not known in Las Vegas. This could be a win or a miss, but with the look on everyone’s faces it was clearly a win thank God, I told Eva from the beginning I was a bit scared for this cupcake. Everyone’s comments where good, they liked it and found it interesting. “Your next cupcake ladies and gentleman is your Red velvet Cup cake, it is paired with a Rose.” This was more known to my clientele so I took a big bite and a big sip of their wine. Everyone was very impressed. While everyone was busy, I walked around the table asking everyone if they are enjoying the experience, the consciences so far were very positive when I got to Romeo he got up from his chair and pulled me to him in a hug. “You are doing so good angel, and the wine and cupcake pairing is genius, I wish you could have taste it.” “Just seeing you guys enjoy it is enough for me Romeo.”
I went back to stand at the head of the table “Now ladies and gentleman for your last two cupcakes you have the carrot cupcake that is paired with a nice crisp Sauvignon Blanc and the last one is a rich chocolate cupcake that is paired with a rich Merlot. Please enjoy it.” I stood to the side ordered myself a cup of tea and watched how my guest was enjoying their cupcakes and wine. I was standing near the barista when Eva came walking towards me. She pulled me towards her and hugged me, “That was brilliant Jenn, absolutely brilliant and the Makataan was my favorite.” “I’m so happy you enjoyed it.” “You better tell your bakers they are going to get a lot of orders from the Hotel it’s absolutely amazing.” “Oh, Eva thank you so much it means the world to me and thank you for all your help it looks amazing here tonight the atmosphere is exactly what I wanted.” “I’m happy you like it.” She leaned into me “Have you been to the new OBGYN?” “I have didn’t I tell you yet, Romeo was a bit jealous he is quite attractive.” “Oh, then I have to make an appointment.” We both laughed as Romeo walked to us. “Why are you guys laughing?” “Girl stuff.” Eva said quickly before she left me with Romeo. “So?” “Like she said girl stuff.”
