Romeo stopped at the Doctors rooms the same time we did, they obviously broke every speed limit there was in Nevada. Romeo got out and walked towards me. He pulled me to him and hugged me “Whatever it is we will handle it together, okay angel?” “Okay.” I said but truly I was on the verge of crying or having some sort of panic attack, everything all we’ve gone through. We walked into the OBGYN’s rooms and the receptionist took us immediately to the doctor’s room. “Jennifer, Romeo thank you for coming so quickly.” “I thought it was serious and you wanted to see us immediately.” Romeo said “It is but nothing to worry about.” “What do you mean? We were stressing the whole way here.” Romeo went on. “Well, Jennifers blood work did come back and there is a bit of a problem with her Iron levels. It’s very low that with her high blood pressure is a problem we need to get the iron levels up and the high blood pressure down.” “What is the risk with the low iron levels and how do we fix it?” Romeo asked. I was quiet I mean I thought she’s going to tell me I’m going to lose the baby or there is something wrong with the baby, but if I can take a pill to fix the problem give me the pills and send me on my way, that was all I could think about while Romeo and the doctor spoke.
“Well, an Iron deficiency put Jennifer in a high risk for premature birth, and that combined with the high blood pressure is bad because high blood pressure also puts you in a high risk for premature birth.” “Okay what do we do?” Romeo asked. Clearly, I wasn’t there I was just listening to them speaking about me. “I’m going to prescribe a Prenatal vitamin that contains iron if not better in 3 months we need to give another supplement which means we need to do the blood test in 3 months again.” “Okay we can do that and the high blood pressure.” “That only Jennifer can fix, I can’t prescribe a medication for that.” “Jennifer.” Romeo said but I didn’t answer him. “Angel.” He waved a hand in front of me. “Fuck I think she’s in shock.” Romeo told the doctor. “That won’t be good for her blood pressure.” I felt myself being lifted and then I was floating suddenly I was on my back and the doctor was listening to my heart beat taking my blood pressure. All I heard was “Jenn please Jenn, come back to me.” I wondered why he said that I mean I was right here. “Jenn say something.” “Her blood pressure is very high.” I heard a women say.

I was wondering why I was asking all the questions. Jenn was so quiet if I didn’t hold her hand, I would think she wasn’t in the room. Eventually when the doctor explained everything and she said the blood pressure is in Jenn’s hand I tried to talk to her but there was no reply from her, I saw this look before, she was in shock. Fuck fuck fuck. I could kill the doctor she should have told Jenn this over the phone not make us come in and think something worse was wrong. But arguing with the doctor wouldn’t help not now. We needed to get Jenn to talk to show any kind of emotion. I carried her to the bed where the doctor put the blood pressure machine on her, she was checking her blood pressure and she was listening to her heart. When the doctor said her blood pressure was through the roof. I tried again “Jenn please Jenn, come back to me. Jenn say something.” “If she doesn’t answer I will have to admit her to hospital.” A few seconds after the doctor said it, Jenn blinked her eyes I should have thought of that sooner Jenn hates the hospital. “Jenn please Jenn talk to me.” “Is our baby, okay?”
“Your baby is just fine Jennifer you just need to calm down.” The doctor told Jenn. Jennifer sat up straight in the bed looking at the doctor. “You could have told me whatever you told Romeo over the phone why did you scare the living shit out of me.” “I’m sorry I just want you to get your vitamins as well. And do another check on you.” “I thought you were going to tell me there is something wrong with my baby, not here drink a pill.” “Jenn you need to calm down.” I tried. She was telling the doctor everything I wanted to say I just thought Jenn came first. “Maybe I should get another OBGYN.” “That is totally your call but I won’t scare you like that again I promise.” “I’ll decide now can I go.” “You need to calm down before I can let you leave your blood pressure is dangerously high.” “The longer I stay here the worse it’s going to get, we are leaving.” She said. She ripped the blood pressure thing around her arm off and stood up, she was clearly a bit dizzy because she grabbed onto the bed. “Angel wait for me.” I walked to her side of the bed and took her hand. The doctor gave me the vitamins, Jenn didn’t even stop walking I had to keep up with her. Making sure she didn’t fall.
We walked straight out of the doctor’s rooms she wanted to walk to her SUV but I lead her to mine. I got her in the SUV and jumped in as quickly as I could behind her. “I can’t believe that doctor do you know how stressed I was. She’s telling me I shouldn’t stress but today went so well until she called and fucked up my whole fucken day.” Jenn was ranting on and on. I wanted to tell her to calm down but I was sure she will scream at me to. I tried another approached “At least nothing is wrong angel.” It looked like she was deflating right in front of me. “Thank fuck for that.”
