When Jenn and I got out of the water, Lucas called me there was an important phone call, something about Mexico and after I made the mistake of telling Jenn about the fact that we didn’t find Sebastian’s cousin’s men or family I had to take it. I wasn’t worried about Jenn because she was under the watchful eye of the bodyguards we hired and she was on a private beach I mean what can go wrong? When I took the phone from Lucas, the call had dropped, we tried to call back but nothing. We tried for a 4th time when I saw Jennifer came running back from the beach like something was chasing her. When she finally stopped in front of us she couldn’t talk I asked her what was wrong but all she could say was “The, the, the” When I looked up the bodyguard was running behind Jenn with a lea in his hand and a note in the other, where the fuck did the lea came from, he past the note to me and I read it out load “YOU CAN’T HIDE FROM US WE WILL FIND YOU AND WE WILL KILL YOU.”
“Fuck fuck fuck where did she get this?” I asked the bodyguard as I gave the note to Lucas. “One of the kids kicked his ball towards her and gave her this” showing me the lea “And the note was attached.” “The phone call was a decoy.” Lucas said. I was grabbing Jenn because she was on the point of passing out yet again. I picked her up and put her down in the lounge on the sofa, “Breath angel, just breath.” I heard Lucas running around outside giving orders then most of the men was off to the beach looking for the children. Jenn got her breathing under control and then asked “It’s Sebastian’s Cousin’s family, right?” “That is the assumption we can make angel but we don’t know not until we catch them and ask them.” “It could only be them Romeo, I told you someone was still after us I told you.” She wanted to get up. “Jenn please just lay still; I’m going to get you some water.” I got up leaving Jenn with Elijah and went to fetch her a glass of ice-cold water. When I came back, she was sitting on the couch with her head in her hands. “They were children Romeo only children, do they even know what they just done?” “If they were raised in the cartel then yes angel, they knew I’m sorry I really just thought they where children of the people next door.” “That is what I thought as well.” Jenn was taking a sip of her water when we heard a big explosion it felt like the whole house shook. “What the fuck was that?” Jenn tried to get out as my instincts took over, I was lying on top of her and Elijah on top of me, protecting us. When we realized there wasn’t an immediate treat to us Elijah got of me and I got of Jennifer. “That was next door.” I jumped up with Elijah next to me I didn’t realized Jenn was also running with us. When we got to the estate the men were standing outside coughing and wiping blood of their faces.
“Lucas you, okay?” I ran to him. “Yes boss.” Then Jennifer walked past me and looked at Lucas then I realized she ran with us. She checked the scars on his face and walked to each of the other men, while she was buys attending to them Lucas said “Boss they hoped it would be you coming for them.” “What do you mean?” “Before the explosion one of the guys brought me a note saying ‘We’ve got you’ That is when we ran out because we knew it was a trap.” “Fuck fuck fuck, we need to go back to New York then I’m going with you guys to find these mother fuckers this was the last straw.” “Boss we can’t leave Jennifer alone.” “Oh, she won’t be I’m going to send her somewhere else with Elijah and Levi.” “You sure?” “I’m sure. Give them some of their own medicine you’ve come for my wife and child I will kill you.” “They are probable already off the island because they think you are dead.” Lucas said. “Well then we should make a big show of it, in the papers saying I’m dead that will make them relax.” “Will Jenn be okay with that?” “I’ll convince her.”
I went to get Jenn took her hand and lead her back to the house we were staying at. “Angel, we need to talk.” “We going back home?” She asked me “They thought I’ll be the one that dies in that bomb explosion, we are going to tell the papers I’m dead make the enemy relax a bit, then I’m going back home. We will regroup in Las Vegas then I’m going to Mexico to help search for these bastards, the men here can search for the people that booby trapped the house next door although I think they are already gone especially because they think I was in that explosion.” “What if your friends or business partners find out you are ‘dead’?” “Lucas will handle them.” “Okay and where am I going?” “How do you feel about the cold?” “I like it why?” “I have a chalet in Switzerland, no one will look for you there.” “Switzerland?” “Yes angel. We need these people out of our lives as soon as possible, I’m sure you want to open your bakery in peace.” “Preferable yes.” “Well then you will have to trust me and trust the process. So will you please go to Switzerland with Levi and Elijah?” “Yes, I will for your peace of mind as well as mine. But I need a call from you at least once a day to make sure you are still alive.” “I can do that angel.”
