I got the cupcakes and was of to the Hotel, when we stopped there Levi was out of the SUV taking the boxes of cupcakes from me, clearly, I wasn’t going to carry anything if it depended on these men. Eva got me in the foyer. “Hi Jenn.” “Hi Eva.” “You can take that to the restaurant.” Eva told Levi, clearly, she was very comfortable with giving orders I was still getting use to that. “I told the chef to make us some of the hors deavours his going to make for your event, you need to taste what your guest are going to have.” “Oh, thank you Eva you thought of everything.” “It is my job Jenn, come let’s go to the restaurant.” While we walked towards the restaurant, I told Eva I got her my 2 barista’s and 2 cashiers to help with the setting up of the tables and chairs. She was very grateful. “Jennifer so nice to see you again.” Chef said as I walked in. “Hi chef, I marked the boxes for you.” “Yes, Yes I saw, I’m going to test my ideas and bring them out to you to taste.” “Just let Eva taste it Chef I can’t I’m not feeling very well.” “No problem.” I didn’t want to tell him about my pregnancy not yet and Eva knew it at least. We found a seat where we were going to be served. “Wine?” The waiter asked “Just water please.” Eva said. “Thank you, Eva, after the scare of yesterday I don’t want to tell people about the pregnancy you never know what can happen.” “I understand but yesterday was a false alarm, it was just a doctor that wanted to make money out of a consultation.” “You think?” “Well what else she could have told you what was wrong over the phone.” “Your probable right, do you have someone else for me?” “I heard there is a new doctor in town young but very good.” “I really don’t care how young he is as long as he knows what his doing.” “They say he does. I’ll give you his name and number one of the girls actually has his business card; I’ll go and get it from her. I told her I needed to go for my yearly checkup.” “Eva you are really the best, thank you so much.” “What are friends for.” That made me happy because I saw her as a friend and her seeing me as a friend made it so much better.
The waiters came out with plates and plates of food, clearly it was different kind of finger foods. “Oh, wow this is a lot.” “Go big or go home that is what I always say.” Eva smiled. “I told chef someone is allergic to shell fish so there won’t be any fish dishes I know they don’t suggest sushi or any raw fish if you are pregnant.” “Like I said you thought of everything.” I took a very fancy devil’s egg and put it in my mouth it tasted like an angel just peed on my tongue it was delicious. There where jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon, fancy meatballs, bread with tomato, cucumber and a piece of meat, tomato mozzarella balls with basil, small tartlets with spinach and feta, ham and cheese. Everything chef made just looked so beautiful and tasted like heaven. While we ate Eva and I talked about our honeymoon I mean it will be weird if we don’t talk about it. I told her how beautiful Switzerland was and how amazing their chocolates was, I told her all the good things, the private beach in Hawaii. At least there was a lot of good things that happened as well, although the bad over power the good. We were just finish with the hors deavours when the chef came out with 2 waiters each with 2 bottles of wine, I had 6 cupcakes so there where 6 wines. Chef but the cupcakes in front of Eva with the 6 glasses of wine and started to explain when he was done, he gave me a piece of paper. “This is for you Jenn you need to explain to your guest which wine you are pairing with which cupcake.” I didn’t think about that but I was grateful that Chef did. My afternoon went by in a flash with great food and great company. Eva was really the best giving up a whole day to spend with me. When it was time to go, I told her “You should come to the house for a visit.” “We will make a plan, I’m sure we need to start organizing a nursery soon.” “Oh, Eva I haven’t even thought about that, but I would love if you will help me with that.” “It will be my pleasure.” I gave her a hug and as I turned around, she said “Jenn, your opening is going to be a hit with that wine pairing.” “Thank you, Eva.” As we drove home, I realized that I really not once thought about a nursery, it was possible that I just wanted to survive and that is why I never thought about it but now that the danger is behind us, I can start to think about all the good things that is laying ahead, which is the opening of my bakery and choosing a room for the baby and decorating that room. I couldn’t wait.

It was after 6 pm already and we where in my office going through what the Jalis cartel wanted from me and the cost of the cocaine, they were going to supply for us I asked Lucas and Ricardo “You don’t think this price is a bit ridicules? I know I’m not suppose to be involved in this side of the business but that is a steep price.” “There stuff is good boss it’s worth it, we won’t make a loss.” Lucas said. I looked over to Ricardo. “It is good stuff but if I’m you I will try and negotiate a better price.” “Well, you guys got me involved so I’m most definitely going to negotiate for a better price.” “Boss just remember they are the only cartel that is willing to do business with us.” Lucas went on. “Lucas I’m very sure there is another cartel that will do business with us never let people know you are desperate for their business because they will take you for a ride.”
