Romeo
I was holding Jenn while she was sitting on the floor of her father’s office or should I say what is left of her father’s office. I promised her before I will protect her but I fell short of doing exactly that. I shouldn’t have brought her here today, but I thought Brad would listen to at least her but clearly, he was beyond rescuing. “I need to get up from the floor Romeo.” “There is not rush angel.” “There is we need to go to the doctor.” “Shit I totally forgot.” I helped her of the floor, she gave the office a final look as she walked out, I promised myself there and then I won’t ever make this place her problem ever again, I will get a component person to run this business even if I’m not there that person will run it for Jenn this will be the last time she will ever step foot in this place. We walked out of the building; Noah spoke to security probable telling them that Brad was now totally banned from ever entering the place ever again. Well, I hope that was his words. We walked out and Elijah open my SUV’s door for Jenn when she was seated, I told Elijah they should follow us to the doctor I wasn’t sure if I should leave Jenn to go home alone or should I stay with her, I will take my ques from her.

We drove in silence to Dr. Jacob’s office, I was thinking about my dad and how sad it actually is that he will never be a part of his grand children’s lives I was just not willing to put my children through what I went through with him especially if he doesn’t get help or even accepts the fact that he has a problem. When we got to Dr. Jacob’s office something felt wet in my neck when I touched my scar it was actually bleeding. “Fuck” I said out load “What, what’s wrong?” Romeo asks as we got out. “My stiches must have torn or something I’m bleeding.” “At least we are at the doctor’s office.” Romeo said but I could see on his face he was far from happy. When we walked in the receptionist told us the doctor was waiting for us. So, we went straight to his office. “Doc.” Romeo greeted him. “Romeo. Jennifer.” He greeted us then he saw the blood. “Oh my God what happened?” “I think I tore a few stiches.” “Sit on the bed let me have a look.” He took of the bandage, “I heard you guys had an eventful honeymoon.” He said a bit sarcastically. “If that is how you can call it?” Romeo said. “What happened here?” “My father just tried to kill me.” I said non chalant. The doctor stop working for a minute surely waiting for me to say “Joke” but it wasn’t a joke. “You serious?” He asked looking at Romeo. “Unfortunately, yes, it seems he doesn’t like the fact that we called him an alcoholic and that he needs help.” “Shit Jenn are you okay?” The doctor asked very concerned. “I will be, but he is out of my life forever now.” “I totally understand.” When the doctor was finished with my neck he said “But your neck wasn’t the reason for the appointment was it?” “No, I’m pregnant but I don’t feel well, I’m not sure what it is?” “First of all, congratulations and second of all what do you mean?” “Well, I have very bad morning sickness which has subsided for a bit but this morning when I woke up, I just felt, I don’t know, like something was wrong.” The look on Romeo’s face was one of concern and one that said ‘Why didn’t you tell me’ “I might just be paranoid but it just doesn’t feel right.” “Okay I have a sonar machine here let’s see what the baby does okay?” The doctor left the room leaving me and Romeo alone. “Why didn’t you tell me you felt so strongly that something was wrong?” “It was just a feeling this morning it went away during the day but now after what happened with my father I started to worry again, I’m probable just paranoid Romeo, nothing to worry about.” “But I do worry about you and the baby.” “I’m sure there is no need, let see what the doctor says okay.” “Fine but next time you feel so strongly about something you tell me.” “Okay I will.”
The doctor came back in the room wheeling in his sonar machine. He put some gel on my stomach and started to search for the baby’s heartbeat. Then we heard it and I felt so much relieve. “Well, he is still in there and everything looks good, I think I should take a few bloods test and just make sure everything is okay with you. Then I want you to go and see a OBGYN as soon as possible.” “Why?” Romeo asked “Why as soon as possible is there something wrong you don’t want to tell us about?” “No Romeo I will just feel better if you see an OBGYN I can do the test I know of but they specialize in babies.” “Can you recommend us to someone I’ll make an appointment immediately.” “You can use Dr. DeVilliers she’s very good and will look after Jenn and the baby.” “Great I’ll go and call her office while you draw the blood.” Romeo said before he gave me a kiss and walk out of the room. “His stressing about you.” The doctor said. “I know I try to stay calm but with everything that happened the past few weeks it’s difficult.” “You need to try and relax Jenn I can see you are stressing and stress isn’t good for you or the baby.” “I’m trying doctor but the world has other ideas at the moment.” “Then you have to avoid the things that give you stress Jenn.” “I’m trying I already told my dad his not welcome near me again or in our in grandchildren’s lives.” “How did he take it?” “He didn’t say anything he walked out.” “Oh” Romeo came storming back into the room. “She can see us in an hour.” He announced. “How did you get that right?” the doctor asked and then answered himself “Oh never mind. I’ll send her a letter with you telling her what blood test I did.” “Thank you doctor.” I said as I got of the bed. He gave us the letter and we where off to go and see the OBGYN. “How did you get it right to get an appointment so soon?” I asked Romeo as we got in the SUV. “Money talks darling money talks.”
