Romeo
I was back in my office after my late lunch with Brad when Elijah called me “Elijah” “Boss Jenn just called me. She didn’t say anything but I heard a commotion I’m on my way to her now.” “Get there fast Elijah I’m on my way.” When I put the phone down my heart was racing what on earth could have happened that she needed Elijah all I could think of was Kyle. I got Lucas to rush to the bakery. When we stopped there, there was no one outside but when I walked in, I saw Jennifer in Elijah’s arms and Elijah saying over and over again everything is okay. When Elijah saw me, he got up and I took his seat I saw the blood streaming down her face. I’m going to kill that fucker.
“Everything is going to be okay Jenn, I’m here.” I told her. Elijah went to fetch something we could press on her wound to stop the bleeding. I picked her up and we got in the G-Wagon Lucas took us to my house when she saw that is where we where she said she needed to get back to her place. There was no way on earth I would let her be alone in her house tonight. I told her I’m looking after her and she just excepted it. I think the day was just too much for her with her dad then Kyle I’m sure it was to much. I tried to stop the bleeding but it didn’t work so I had to call Dr. Jacobs. Dr. Jacobs was at my house within 30 minutes. Elijah brought him to the kitchen where I had Jenn drinking something to calm her down. “Oh, my word child what happened?” Dr. Jacobs asked. “I fell and hit my head doc.” Jenn told him. He looked at me like I was the culprit. “It wasn’t me doc.” I told him with my hand in the air. “It really wasn’t doc it was my ex.” “I told you I didn’t like him.” Dr. Jacobs told her. “Yes, I know.” “Okay hold on it’s going to hurt.” The doctor gave her an injection to numb the area before he put the stiches in. “You going to be a bit blue around the area Jenn. I’m leaving pain meds as well okay.” “Thank you, doc.,” “My pleasure, Romeo can you walk me out.” The doctor asked me. “Sure” Elijah stepped in in front of Jenn making sure she didn’t fall. I walked the doctor to the door.
“Romeo, you have to look after her. I know this is just a sexual thing between the two of you but please if you can look after her. She had it hard after her mom’s death. Bradford was never there for her and still is not although he forces her to go with him to events and forces her to do as he says.” “You know about that?” “Yes, she had a breakdown in my office once I tried to send her to a therapist but it didn’t go of well with Bradford.” “His trying to control her whole life doc. His new idea is getting her to marry to someone he chooses.” “Oh my God no that poor girl is going to crack sooner than later.” “I’ll look after her doc; you know I will.” “Good. That bruise is going to be huge, I didn’t want to tell her and make everything worse does she have social events this week?” “She does she told him no but he didn’t take that well.” “Tell her lots and lots of make up if Bradford sees that he will get more controlling over her and try to take care of her on his way and we don’t want that.” “I understand.” When the doctor left, I was surprised he was so involved in Jenn’s life and know so much I was even more surprised he trusted me so much to leave her in my care. I walked back to the kitchen. Elijah moved away again.
“Jenn you want to go and take a bath?” “Yes please.” I walked her to my bedroom when we got to the stairs, I decided to carry her up. “I can walk Romeo.” “I know you can but I want to carry you.” She just accepted it and put her head on my shoulder. When we got the bathroom, I filled the bath with warm water and bath salts. “I wondered when I’ll be able to take a bath in this huge tub of yours.” “Well darling tonight is the night.” I helped her in. When she was settled, I told her what the doctor said. “Oh my God Romeo I can’t go to the function Wednesday.” “I’ll get a make-up artist to come and do your make up darling your father won’t notice anything and his so up his own ass I don’t think he will even notice even if you didn’t have make up on.” “What does that mean?” “We’ll talk about that later tell me what happened today?” “You sure you wanne know?” “Off course.” “Well, my day started with my other baker being sick I only stopped baking when the doors opened it was hectic busy today then my father came along. Apparently, I have 2 functions this week.” “I know you tried to say no darling don’t worry about that now.” “So, I’m taking it you spoke to my dad.” “I did, but back to you.” “Okay but I need to know what he said.” “Later.” “Just before we finished Kyle walked in, I asked John my barista to take him out of the bakery but he screamed at John then I tried to get to my phone to call you but he was on me and started to scream at me. He pushed me and I fell hitting my head. My phone also fell to the ground. We screamed at each other when I spoke about him and Kim, he was surprised that is when I took the gap to run for the front of the bakery and call Elijah.” “Quick thinking darling I’m proud of you.” “That’s the first time since my mother’s death that anyone told me they are proud of me Romeo.” “Well, I’m going to tell you that a lot darling.” I bend forward and kissed her on the forehead.
