Romeo
After dinner Jenn excused herself to go to the room, she was clearly still tired I must say I was tired as well. I don’t know when we will get rid of this jet lag, hopefully soon. I first went to my office to call Arlo; I needed to find out if there was another fire that needed to be put out. Arlo’s phone rang a few times before he answered. “Romeo?” He answered “Yes Arlo who else will be phoning you from my cellphone?” “Maybe Jenn I wouldn’t know.” “How are you Arlo?” “Good you sorted out all your shit?” “I did the papers will report tomorrow that I’m indeed still alive.” “Well, that’s good news.” “Yes, it is.” “Did your businesses take a knock?” “Not really but then I haven’t been dead long.” I laughed at my own joke. “What can I help you with Arlo?” “No, I just wanted to find out if Jenn was okay, nothing serious.” “Thank you, Arlo, any news on the Brad front?” “No nothing you might need to go there and visit him to see what’s going on but he hasn’t called any of us or tried to escape again.” “Well, that is a positive.” “I would say so.” “Well then I’m still jet lag I’ll call you in the week to have that dinner here at home.” “Great cheers Romeo.” “Cheers Arlo.”
I walked to our bedroom where I found Jennifer laying in bed busy with her diary. “What did Arlo want?” “He was just checking up on you.” “Is that all?” “It was.” “That’s nice of him.” “It is, I said we will invite them over for dinner this week I hope it’s okay with you.” “Yes, off course it is, I need to thank them for looking after my dad while we where gone.” “I’m sure you don’t have to angel.” “No but I want to.” “What you doing?” “I’m deciding on a date for the opening for the new bakery.” “Shouldn’t you first go and have a look at the space and get some bakers and barista’s first?” “I’m way ahead of you, I already instructed Eleanor to get us more staff so that is basically sorted. I’m going to the new bakery tomorrow and then to my old one to find out how many people Eleanor has lined up for interviews.” “Look at you, proactive and everything.” “I have to be. I want this opening as soon as possible in fact before I even start to show, I don’t want to walk around with swollen feet and then I can’t enjoy the evening.” “I understand angel.” I got undress and got in bed next to her. Jenn put the book down and came to lay in my arms. “So, we are going back to work tomorrow?” I asked her “We have to some time, don’t we?” “I hoped we could stay in the house for another few days.” “You know you need to go back to work Romeo if the papers announce tomorrow that you are alive, your phone is going to ring nonstop.” “I know I was just hoping for another few days.” “Let’s get this whole I’m not dead anymore out of the way and my opening then we can take a few days off, but I’m not traveling anywhere, I had enough of airplanes for a while.” “I totally agree with you. I’m sorry our honeymoon turned out the way it did Jenn.” “It’s okay Romeo you have the rest of your life to make up for it.” She laughed “and besides one good thing came out of the honeymoon.” I looked at her a bit confused what on earth was good in this hell of a honeymoon. “The pregnancy Romeo.” “Oh yes off course. See our child is already a fighter.” That made both of us smile.

The next morning, I woke up with Romeo still sleeping next to me. I wasn’t sure what the feeling was I was having, it felt like I wanted to throw up but also not. I got up and went to the bathroom just in case something comes out. I sat there for about 10 minutes and nothing happened then I walked back into the room and got into bed behind Romeo’s back. Clearly, I woken him “Are you okay angel?” “I’m fine sleep it’s still early.” He didn’t argue with me he fell asleep immediately again. I wasn’t as lucky I was lying behind his back but something was feeling off, I don’t know what it was, all I know was I was going to the doctor today. I wasn’t really a paranoid person but after the hellish few days it wouldn’t be normal if I wasn’t a bit paranoid. I must have fallen asleep again while worrying because Romeo woke me up with a kiss on the forehead. “Morning angel.” “Morning Romeo.” “You okay angel?” “I just felt funny earlier I’m going to go and see the doctor.” “I’ll go with you.” “No, I’m sure you going to be way to busy.” “Nonsense I have people to handle stuff at work I’m coming with just tell me what time and I’ll meet you there.” “Okay I’ll call the doctor and let you know.” “Well then, I probable need to get ready for the storm that is going to hit me when I get to the office.” “Rather you then me.” He laughed at me and walked to the bathroom. I felt much better than I did earlier maybe it was a waste to go to the doctor, but I’ll go just in case.
I got up, went to the bathroom and got ready for the day. Romeo was already dressed. He came into the bathroom and kissed me “Call me and tell me the time.” “I will.” He kissed me and left. I walked into the shower and took a long relaxing warm shower. When I got out, I felt so much better, maybe it was just the jet lag and all the lasagna I have eaten the night before. I got ready but decided to call my doctor in any case the reception told me we could come in at 2 pm which would suit me because I’ll most probable be done with everything I needed to do. As I walked down stairs I send Romeo a message with the time for the doctors appointment. When I got downstairs, Elijah and Levi were waiting for me. “Are we leaving Jenn?” “Yes, can we go to the new bakery please.” “Off course.” All the way there I was getting more and more excited all my dreams are coming true even those I never knew I had.
