Romeo
I was starting to worry, Jenn was still sleeping I decided to call the Doctor yes, I know he can’t do anything with us being I don’t know how many miles in the air but maybe he has some advice. The phone rang a few times before he answers “Please don’t tell me you tore you stitches already?” He said but it sounded like he just woken up. “Sorry doc am I bothering you?” “No no what’s wrong?” “It’s Jenn she’s got a fever and her throat is sore but what is bothering me is her oxygen levels it’s between 88-91.” “Can I come over and have a look at her?” “We already on our way to the Maldives doc.” “No problem what do you have on board?” I gave him the names of the medicine I gave her. “Okay that is all good, you will just have to check her oxygen levels every 2 hours if it does pick up Romeo you would have to land that plane and get her to a hospital.” “Okay when should I land the plane?” “If it stays above 88 your still okay but then you have to get her to a doctor when you land if it drops below that and stays there then please land the plane and go to a hospital.” “Okay doc.” “Luckily for you I have an old Uni buddy of mine that went to retire in the Maldives I’ll ask him to make a turn at your place, I take it that is where you will be staying?” “Yes, I’ll let you know when we land.” “I’m going to tell him to check you to Romeo.” “Yes, yes it’s fine he should just attend to Jenn first.” “No problem have a safe flight and let me know if you have to land.” “Will do.”
When I disconnect the call Elijah was the first to ask “What does the doctor say?” “He said we should land if it goes under 88 and stays there other wise his sending an old friend to our house when we land.” “Okay boss anything I can do.” “Get me some cold water.” I press my hand to her forehead and felt she was still warm. “Jenn, wake up, Jenn.” She opened her eyes but didn’t look good. “What happened?” “You fell asleep while you where eating.” “Oh, I really don’t feel good.” “You have a fever and your oxygen levels is low Jenn I talked to the doctor and he said we should land if it goes under 88.” “Nonsense we’ll see a doctor when we get to where ever we are going. This happened before I’ll just sleep sitting up for a while it will stabilize don’t worry.” “I don’t want to take risks with your health Jenn.” “You won’t I’ll be okay.” Elijah brought me the water which I gave to Jenn. I could see she was struggling to swallow but she drank the whole bottle. “I just need to stay hydrated by the time we land I’ll be fine. Don’t worry.” “Okay you want to go and lie on the bed and watch TV?” “Yes please.” I helped her to her feet and walked to the bedroom, Elijah was behind me with another bottle of water, “Here you go boss.” “Thank you. You want me to stay with you?” “No, you go work I’m probable just going to fall asleep again.” “Okay” I kissed her on the forehead and walked out of the room letting her do her thing.
Later I walked to the room to check in on Jenn, she was still sleeping but she was lying against a lot of pillows to basically sleep while sitting. I went to check her oxygen levels and true to what she said it picked up to 93 which was still a bit low but not something to worry about. She didn’t stir when I checked it. I checked if she still had water and saw the bottle was empty so I went to fetch another bottle and put it next to the bed. Fuck I hope she feels better when we land it would be so bad if she’s sick while we are in the Maldives, I mean my place has a separate pool with stairs that goes down to the ocean, I have little scooters we can use to travel around at the resort, I have so many plans. I know I fucked it up by getting shot hopefully she doesn’t have to spend her days in the bed.

I woke up feeling a bit better, maybe my body was just reacting to the stress of the wedding, Romeo being shot and my dad and getting everything ready, but I was feeling better. I know from experience when I don’t feel well my oxygen levels falls it happens, it started after I had Covid so I’m use to it. I should have probable told Romeo because he was clearly freaking out. I drank the other bottle of water then I decided to go and take a shower I’m very sure I slept the whole freaking day and I can’t have that I don’t know where we are going but I don’t want to sleep when we get there. When I was freshly showered and got another dress on, I walked out of the room looking for Romeo, I’m sure I told the air hostess not to flirt with my husband but it could also just be my imagination or the fever. “Darling how are you feeling?” He asked when he saw me “Much better thank you. I just think with all the stress of the wedding, my dad you getting shot my body crashed but now I’m okay again.” “And your throat?” “It’s still a little sore but nothing to be worried about.” “I checked your oxygen levels while you were sleeping and it at least picked up.” “Romeo since I had covid my oxygen levels and my throat is the first thing that slips when I’m not feeling well there is really nothing to worry about okay.” “Are you sure because a doctor will come to check both of us.” “It’s fine the doctor can come but I promise you I’m feeling much better in fact I think I should get something to eat, but before I ask the air hostess, I’m not sure if it was a dream or if I really did it?” “Did what?” “Tell the air hostess not to flirt with you.” He just started to laugh.
