The next morning, I wake up to and empty bed. I went to bed without Romeo and now I’m getting up without him. I was still raw from yesterday so it hurt just a little but I couldn’t let what happened yesterday effect my relationship with Romeo. And then I should also remember it’s Monday and I’m sure he has meetings to attend. I looked at my cell phones clock and saw it was before 9 probably too early to call Eleanor to find out how it was going at the bakery. So, I got up and went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, showered and got dressed and do my make-up in less than an hour. I was getting good with just one arm. When I was done, I took my phone and called Eleanor. “Sweetie how are you?” She answered the phone. “Hi Eleanor, I’m getting there. How are things going at the bakery.” “Nothing to worry about here Jenn everything is good and we are so busy. Did you advertise somewhere?” “No, I haven’t but I’m so happy it’s busy.” “Me to it makes the day goes by very fast.” “Eleanor, I want to tell you we moved our wedding date to the 24th I will need your strawberry cupcakes as our wedding cake for one and then I want to invite you to the wedding. First will you be able to bake the cupcakes and second please tell me you will be able to come to the wedding.” I sounded desperate but I really didn’t care at all. “Yes, off course I’ll make the cupcakes for your wedding and Jenn I won’t miss your wedding for anything.” “Thank you, Eleanor thank you so much I think you will be my only friend there.” “Why don’t you invite your other friends Jenn?” “You do know they weren’t really my friends right they were just using me.” “I know sweetie I just never had the heart to tell you.” “It’s okay I needed to figure it out for myself.” “I’m really sorry sweetie but let’s leave the sad things and talk about the cup cakes and how we are going to display them.” “I think I’ll make a turn at the bakery tomorrow then we can talk about it okay?” “No problem, Jenn see you tomorrow.” “Tomorrow Eleanor.”
As I disconnect the call Romeo walked into the room. “Morning Darling.” “Morning Romeo” I walked to him and hugged him he smelled so delicious. “I’m sorry you had to wake up alone Jenn. I had an early morning meeting and now I’m on my way to your dad.” “I understand Romeo, why are you going to my dad?” He took me to sit on the bed, “This seems serious?” “It is and I want you to know why I’m going today.” “Okay I’m listening.” “There are 2 people in your father’s financial team that is stealing from him and one that is up to money laundering through your dad’s company.” “Oh my gosh and what does my dad say?” “He doesn’t believe me.” “Off course he doesn’t.” I said with a sigh. “I’ve got evidence and I’m going to show him I just want you to know because it will cause more tension. I will get rid of them Jenn one way or another I will get rid of them. I won’t let them ruin your legacy.” I touched his face with my one hand and kissed him on the lips. “Thank you Romeo, I trust you whatever you need to do you do that. I’m with you all the way.” “Thank you for your trust darling, and now I have to go.” He gave me a kiss and walked out of the room. I was feeling sorry for Romeo because my dad will put up a fight for his employees not even if Romeo has the evidence my dad will still fight against it. But I have things I need to worry about today and that is the wedding.
I went down stairs got some coffee in the kitchen and went to the library where I can work. I was just about to sit when my cellphone rang, I saw it was the art designer for our invites. She called to get the guest list I ask for her e-mail address and send all the names and addresses through to her. Then I called Eva “Eva Hello” She answered “Eva it’s Jennifer.” “Oh yes Jennifer I was waiting for you to call. How can I help?” “I’m sure you are very busy and I won’t take up too much of your time but is it possible for you to meet me at the house I want to show you the venue and where the ceremony will be held and need some advice.” “Don’t worry I have lots of people I can delegate work to. Send me the address and I can be there in an hour or is it to soon.” “No no it’s perfect thank you Eva, I’ll send you the address now.” “Good then I’ll see you in and hour.” “Thank you, Eva.” When I disconnected the call, I felt relieved she sounds excited to help and not that I’m a bother, which was a relieve. I decided I needed to eat something before Eva is here and I need some pain medication. I went to the kitchen Luna was busy making pastries it smelled delicious. “What smells so delicious?” I asked her “Croissants and chocolate croissants.” “Oh, wow how long before they are done?” “There is a batch on the table Jennifer.” “You’re a life saver.” I took a croissant put some butter and jam on it and went to sit on the patio in the sun to eat my croissant the winter sun is wonderful in Las Vegas it’s not to hot just right. I looked over the lawn to where the wedding will be and try to imagine how I see it looking with the tables and the chairs and I could actually see it. Now I had a better understanding of what I wanted and I can tell Eva that. I heard someone approaching and couldn’t believe an hour has already passed. I quickly pop the 2 pain killers in my mouth and swallowed them before I walked to meet Eva at the back patio door.
