Chapter 146
Jennifer
I heard the shower go on so I decided we need to end this, roll in the hay with a shower. I got up wrapped my arm and got in the shower with Romeo. “Darling I’m going to be late.” “You already late and I need to talk to you about something.” “You do have a point. Turn around then I’ll wash you.” I turned around and he started to wash my hair and my back. “Whenever you ready I’m listening darling.” “Oh yes, I forgot I wanted to talk to you. You washing my hair just feels so nice.” “It’s good I can distract you.” I turn around and kissed him. “Okay what I wanted to say was I need us to go to the playroom.” “Jenn you still injured.” “I need it Romeo that is a part of my life I can’t give up not for anything not even a broken arm. Can’t we get creative?” “I’m sure we can and I understand I just don’t want to hurt you.” “You will never hurt me Romeo and I do have a safe word.” “Okay tonight we going for the menu tasting, Wednesday and Thursday nights I have meetings let’s make a date for Friday. You take it easy during the week and then we can play Friday night.” “Really?” “Yes, really but you need to promise me to take it easy during the week.” “I promise Romeo.” “Good now I really need to get ready.” He kissed me and got out of the shower I called after him “Remember I’m going to the bakery today.” “All good darling.” I finished in the shower and got out. When I got into the walk-in closet all that remained of Romeo was his smell. I got dressed in a nice dress with sneakers, dried my hair and covered the bruises with my make-up I was getting good at this.
When I was finished, I walked down the stairs only to find Levi waiting for me. “Morning Jennifer.” “Morning Levi.” “I’m just going to grab a coffee quickly.” “No need I’ve got it right here.” In his hand was a travel cup. “You trying to take Elijah’s job from him?” I asked smiling at him. If there was one thing I appreciated of Romeo’s men, was they could take a joke, they weren’t always so serious like my father’s staff. “Maybe.” He winked at me. We walked out of the house, Levi opened the new G-Wagon’s door for me and I got in. Clearly, they couldn’t safe the other G-Wagon that was in the accident so we are driving in a new one, it even smelled new. We drove mostly in silence while I enjoyed my coffee and looked at my sketches for the cupcakes. Levi stopped in front of the bakery got out and open the door for me. “You want to come in Levi?” “No Jennifer I’ll stay here.” “Can I bring you a muffin and coffee?” “No, I’ll come in later to get that.” “Whatever suits you.” It was past 10 am and the bakery was still busy, I wanted to jumped in behind the counter but I had one good arm, I might be managing showering and getting myself dressed and ready but other than that takes two times longer. I walked into the kitchen. “Hi Eleanor, Matilda.” I said “Jenn we almost done.” “No problem I’ll go sit at my table and wait for you.” “Thanks Jenn.” Eleanor said. I walked out of the kitchen and went to sit at my favorite table where I could see what was going on outside as well a good view of the bakery. The que was standing out the door by now. I saw Eleanor and Matilda came out from the back, stock the fridge with more cupcakes and jumped in to help the customers. Clearly the bakery was in good hands I didn’t have to worry. I just wished I had the money to open the other one it will be so good for me as well as the brand I’m trying to build. Almost an hour past before Eleanor could get away and come sit with me.
“Tell me everything.” Eleanor said. “What do you mean everything.” “I haven’t seen you in ages. What’s going on?” “Well mostly I’m sleeping because of this concussion other than that I’m organizing a wedding.” “Okay I get it. How’s things going with your dad?” “The same Eleanor Sunday he tried to stop the wedding yet again but I put my foot down and told him if he asks us to do that again I will walk out the door and he won’t ever see me again.” “Oh my God what did he say then?” “He saw I was serious because I did stand up and walked to the door.” “And then?” “He said he’ll stop he had to try one last time.” “Let’s hope he sticks with his word.” “Well, I’m not seeing him a lot this month because Romeo told him we could only see him every second week. So that means another 2 Sunday lunches to endure.” “And the events I’m sure your calendar is full it is the festive season after all.” “You know what Romeo and I didn’t talk about it yet; I should make a note of that, I just know we don’t have any events this week, thank God. But I’m sure my dad learned his lesson the last time he threw a tantrum.”
“Okay now the cupcakes for the wedding. What do you want?” Eleanor asked very excited. “I was thinking of doing something like this.” I turn the page to her. “Wow Jenn this will look absolutely amazing.” “Yes, it would but is it do able?” “Yes, off course it’s do able, I’ll probable need Matilda’s help with this.” “Off course I would have said I’ll help you but I’m going to be too busy, it’s stressful when it’s being held at your own house.” “I can only think.” “You can get in more friends of yours if you need them Eleanor, please the cake is the one thing I’m not worrying about because I know you’ve got it handled.” “We won’t disappoint you Jennifer I promise.” “Thank you, Eleanor.” As Eleanor got up from the table Levi walked into the bakery, she looked at me “Good Gosh Jennifer who is that piece of meat?” “Eleanor!” I said in shock. “What his stunning.” “My replacement driver while Elijah recovers.” “Can’t you keep him.” “His way to young for you Eleanor.” “I know but looking didn’t hurt anyone as far as I know.” I just laughed at her and walked to the counter waiting for Levi to get his coffee and muffin.
