Chapter 111 Caught in the Acting

“Sarah! Are you in here?”

Case heard the sound of Gordon’s voice outside before he came storming through the door. On his phone, he was watching the camera. She made a dive for the bed, slapping herself across the face and even scratching her arms as she started fake crying, throwing his bedspread across her body. “Oh, Gordo! Help me! He’s taken advantage of me!”

“Oh, my God!” Gordon exclaimed as he ran into the bedroom. “Where the hell is he? I’ll kill him!”

“He’s… in… the bathroom!” Sarah managed between sobs.

Now it was Gordo banging on the bathroom door. “Case Meyer! Come out here! I’ll kick you’re a*s!”

“Gordon, you know nothing she’s saying is true. You heard her pounding on my door a minute ago, screaming for me to let her in.”

“That’s a lie!” Sarah said, still crying. “I wanted him to let me go.”

“I’m going to kill you, you son of a b*tch!” Gordon raged.

Knowing it would likely come to this, Case had already downloaded enough of the video off of the recording app and onto his phone so he could send it to Gordon. “Look at the video I just sent you, Gordon,” Case said, not wanting to come out and pound the smaller man in self-defense if he could prevent it.

“You’re just stalling. Come out here and face me like a man!”

“Gordo, I know you’re mad. I would be, too, if I thought what she was saying was true. But just open the text, and if you still want to pound me after you watch two seconds of that video, I’ll come out and let you have the first swing.

Muttering curse words under his breath, Gordon pulled his phone out of his pocket. Sarah was strangely quiet at first until she realized she was caught in a huge lie. “Wh—what is it?” she asked.

Without answering, Gordon turned the volume up. It was clearly Sarah on the video, screaming at Case to let her into the bathroom, to come out and have his way with her.

Gordon didn’t play the whole video. He didn’t have to. He was convinced.

“That… that wasn’t me,” Sarah said. “He made that up. It’s a fake.”

Gordon didn’t say anything. Case heard the sound of his footsteps leading out of the room, followed by Sarah’s who was calling, “Gordon, baby, wait! It’s not what you think. It’s a lie!”

Case opened the bathroom door and saw Sarah standing in the living room, her hands on her hips, facing the door. “You a*shole!” she screamed, flying at him. “You did this! You made him angry at me!”

“Sarah, get a grip on yourself!” She came flying at him, and Case had to take hold of both of her wrists to keep her from scratching his eyes out. Even then, she started trying to kick him. “There’s a camera in here, too, Sarah. All of this is being recorded.”

That made her stop kicking her feet and put them back on the ground. Her arms were still tense. “Cameras? Out here, too?”

“Yes! So… before I decided to call the police and let them see you breaking into my RV earlier with that slim jim you’d better put your clothes on real fast and get out of here, you hear me?”

Fuming, Sarah pulled away from him and put her clothes on, cursing the entire time. “I hate you!” she finally screamed as she headed out the door. “You think you were sorry before, you just wait! You have yet to feel my wrath!”

Case was afraid what she was screaming was true, but at least he had that on film now, too. He closed his door, locked it, and watched for her to leave before finally walking over to his couch to collapse.

He only had thirty minute left now before he had to be at his meeting, but there was no question he was going to use every second of it on the phone with Andrea. He might see if he could eat something at the same time, but he needed to hear her voice now more than ever. With a deep breath, he pulled his phone out and dialed her number, praying that she was free and would answer.
