Chapter 229 Epilogue

“And the award for Best Actress goes to… Andrea Sparks Meyer!”

She could hardly believe her ears! Finally, after years of waiting for her turn, she was the winner of the greatest award one could receive—Best Actress!

Carefully, Andrea got up out of her seat, one hand on her bulging belly, as Case kissed her on the lips and congratulated her. After that, everything was a whirlwind as people patted her back and grasped her hand. She made her way to the stairs, careful to protect the bundle inside of her, as she headed up to receive her award.

The year before, she’d been nominated for her pirate movie but had lost to another actress. She’d been so busy with wedding plans and keeping her marriage a secret, she hadn’t been too worried about it. Then, she and Case had gotten married a few months early, thanks to the surprise she was now carrying beneath her sparkly silver gown. Lanshia had made this one as well, and thankfully, she had been able to finish her wedding dress in time.

Now, here she was, getting ready to accept an award for her portrayal of a frightened immigrant from Poland during World War II. Her dreams were all coming true! She’d even cried earlier when her half-sister, Sarah Lockton, had received her first award ever, for Best Supporting Actress. She’d deserved it, and Andrea was so glad she and Sarah had gotten to be friends. Leslie and Sarah were so close now, Leslie had asked Sarah to be a bride’s maid at her upcoming wedding. Andrea was so excited that Charlie was about to be her brother for real.

As she came to stand behind the podium, she had to lean over slightly to talk into the microphone, her baby bump was so big. Just a few more weeks, and Baby Jack would be joining them. She couldn’t wait for her grandpa to hold his namesake.

“I want to thank everyone who worked on the movie for this award,” Andrea began, setting the heavy statue on the podium as she spoke. She rattled off the names of everyone who’d helped with the small film and thanked her costar who had also been nominated for an award. She thanked her family, and then she said, “Finally, I want to thank my wonderful husband, Case Meyer, for always standing with me, for being my rock, for being my everything. I couldn’t have done this without you!” She raised the trophy in his direction.

With tears in his eyes, Case kissed his hands and held them in her direction. It was clear he was prouder of her now than he had ever been before.

“Finally, I want to thank my fans. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have so many people who have stood with me through all of the craziness of my career.” There were a few chuckles then, as people likely thought of her wars with Sarah, although if they considered the near-death experiences she’d been through, it wasn’t so funny. “I love each of you so very much!”

She raised the award one more time, and everyone cheered. Andrea tried to remember how she felt in that moment she’d worked so hard for and prayed this wasn’t the last time she’d be able to accept such an amazing award.

Backstage, Case was there to meet her with open arms. “I’m so proud of you, baby,” he said, kissing her.

“I couldn’t have done it without you,” she insisted.

“I wonder what our next adventure will be,” Case said with a chuckle.

Andrea looked down at her stomach, and he placed a hand there, next to hers. “I don’t know, but I can’t wait to find out. Together. With my two guys.”

“You think I get your heart racing, just wait until you see Baby Jack for the first time,” Case said, smiling at her.

“I can’t wait,” Andrea said with a smile.

Case leaned down to kiss her, and she welcomed him, knowing how blessed she was to have had all of her dreams come true. Her future was bright and full of promise, and no matter what it had in store, she’d be ready, with Case’s hand in hers, and both of her true loves—Case and Baby Jack—in her racing heart.
