Chapter 115 Unintended Love
Tuesday morning, Andrea was a little scared to go into work, not sure what Travis would have to say to her. He’d likely be so mad, he’d want to hit her, if he was the sort of guy who hit women, which she didn’t think he was. She did have her bodyguards with her, just in case.
She was in the makeup chair, though Stephon was across the way, talking to Nevaeh. Travis walked over with an expression on his face that was hard for her to read. Andrea felt bad about what she’d done. While she sort of thought he deserved to have a trick played on him, she’d done something sneaky and underhanded, and that didn’t make her feel good about herself.
“Hey, Andrea. If that’s really you,” Travis said, folding his arms and stopping in front of her.
“I’m so sorry,” Andrea said, and she meant it. “That wasn’t a very nice thing I did to you yesterday. I thought it would be funny, and maybe teach you a lesson about trying to get me to go out with you when you know I have a boyfriend, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was just mean.”
“I’ll agree; your intentions were mean,” Travis said, but he didn’t sound angry. He sat down in a chair next to her, perched on the edge. “I had so much fun last night, Andrea, but… I knew all along there was something different. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. When I took Andre home, she told me right away that she wasn’t you—before anything happened. I was shocked, but like I said, I should’ve known it wasn’t you.”
Andrea wasn’t sure what to say. “You must’ve been really mad.”
“Actually, I wasn’t. I mean, like I said, I was surprised. But the more we talked, the more I got to know Andre, the more I like her. I like her a lot, in fact. I think I might actually see her again.”
Taking a deep breath, Andrea pondered how to mind her own business and prevent anything worse from happening to Travis. She knew Kevin well enough not to think that there had been any further misrepresentation once the initial revelation was made, but she wanted to make sure Travis knew Andre’s real name wasn’t Andre. “Did Andre tell you… everything?”
“You mean that her real name is Kevin? Yeah, she told me.”
Andrea blew out a breath of relief. “I’ve never referred to Andre as ‘she’ before. Is that her preference then?”
“That’s what she said. I never would’ve thought I would be attracted to someone like Andre, but, now that I’ve met her, I’ve opened my mind to new possibilities, Andrea. It’s weird for me, but… I just can’t stop thinking about her.”
With a broad smile, Andrea said, “That’s really cool, Travis. I love Andre. She has such a great spirit about her.” It took her a second to adjust to saying “she” but Andrea picked it up. She wished Andre would’ve told her earlier that she preferred to be referred to that way.
“Yeah, so I thought I would want to come in here and yell at you, but I’m really glad you’re an underhanded dirty friend.” He winked at her, and Andrea laughed.
“I am sorry I lied to you, but I’m glad you met someone you like. Of course, you realize it’s all over social media that I’m cheating on Case with you? I guess I deserve that one.”
“Yeah, you do. Does Case know what really happened?”
“He does. Do you plan on correcting everyone?”
“I will. I’ll just say Andre Sparkles and I are friends for now, since that’s the truth, but who know what might happen down the line.” He had a crooked grin on his face that made Andrea smile as well. It was awesome he was so happy.
“And what about Andromeda?” she asked.
“Who?”
“The waitress/bartender you wanted me to meet last night.”
“Oh, right,” he nodded. “I made her up.”
“You don’t say!” Andrea pretended to be shocked.
“I’ve gotta go. I’ll see you later. At least, when you’re sneaky and underhanded, good comes of it, unlike some people. When’s Sarah back on set?”
“Monday,” Andrea said, making a face. She wasn’t looking forward to it.
“Well, you can be sure I won’t be helping her out with her tricks anymore.”
“Thanks, Travis. See you later.”
Stephon came over, whistling, and said, “Guess who I talked to this morning!”
“Andre?”
“One and the same. I think we may have a pair of lovebugs on our hands soon.”
Andrea couldn’t help but smile. Everyone deserved to find someone who made them as happy as Case made her, and if Travis and Andre could find that together, then maybe her sneakiness had paid off in a way she would’ve never imagined.
