Chapter 182 Perfect Date

Andrea hadn’t felt so beautiful for as long as she could remember, except for when she’d gone to the awards show a few weeks before. Case had really spoiled her this time! He’d picked out a beautiful gown for her to wear. It was red with lots of sparkly rhinestones. He’d gotten her new matching shoes, diamond earrings, a necklace, and even a bracelet. He’d even arranged for a local beauty salon owner to come and do her hair and makeup.

“What’s all this for?” Andrea had asked when he’d surprised it with her earlier that evening.

“I just want you to know how special you are,” he’d said with a shrug and a smile. “You’ve been through a lot recently, and you deserve to look and feel beautiful.”

She’d almost cried. Now, as they pulled into valet parking at a chic French restaurant, she felt like a princess.

Case was wearing a nice suit with a tie, and he looked more like a model or an actor than a professional athlete, even though it was easy to see his muscular frame beneath his jacket.
He came around to her side of the vehicle and took her hand. The moment they walked into the restaurant, the maître d led them directly to the best table in the house.

The restaurant was beautiful. Rich wooden floors, chandeliers, and a beautiful cream colored paint, along with candles on each table and a soft white tablecloth leant an air of sophistication to the entire restaurant. The table they were given was secluded to give them some privacy. Andrea had a lovely view out the window of a garden on the side of the restaurant as well.

The waiter brought them a bottle of wine Case had ordered ahead, which was delicious. Andrea just wanted to hold his hand and stare into his eyes all night without even looking at the menu. She’d taken a nap earlier and felt reenergized, but not hungry.

“Are we going to order?” Case asked, a crooked grin on his face.

“I guess,” she replied with a sigh. “I know everything here is supposed to be delicious. I’d just rather look at you.”

Case chuckled, and they both chose entrees in time for the waiter to come back to their table. After that, Andrea went back to gazing into Case’s eyes, which he continued to find amusing.

They talked about lots of things—her new movie, his race that weekend, places they wanted to visit one day, when they’d both retire—but they didn’t talk about Sarah or Cam, and she was relieved to stay off of the topic. By the time they’d finished eating, Andrea was more in love with this wonderful man than she’d ever been before.

It was a lovely night. A warm breeze stirred her hair and the scent of flowers blooming filled her lungs as they took a moonlit stroll around a nearby park. The stars above them were bright, and holding Case’s hand felt heavenly. Andrea felt like this entire night had been a dream; Case had gone to so much trouble to make her feel better about all of the horrible experiences she’d been through recently, and she truly felt like she might float away on the clouds at any moment.

Eventually, they headed back to the car, and Case headed toward his house, his strong fingers wrapped around Andrea’s hand. While part of her was excited to see her family again, if they were back from Charlie’s, she was also looking forward to having some along time with Case.

When they pulled into the driveway, and she saw no cars in the drive, she was relieved. But then, she noticed lots of lights coming from inside of the house, so she wasn’t sure what to think. Was it possible they were all there and had parked somewhere else? Or had someone just left the lights on?

Case came around to her side and helped her out of the vehicle. He closed the door and walked her slowly toward the house. As she approached, she noticed the lights were twinkling. Confused, Andrea studied the situation but didn’t ask what was happening. Case pushed open the front door, and it all started to come into focus.
