Chapter 50 Clubbing

Going out to a club was the last thing Andrea wanted to after receiving the news about Sarah, but Nakita and Taylor were persuasive. Since Andrea hadn’t been out with them since she’d come back to California, and she could really use a drink, she’d given in.

They were hanging out at a club where a lot of celebrities spent their evenings, so she wasn’t worried about fans coming over to them. Both Nakita and Taylor were fairly big stars, so if anyone was going to get fangirled, it would likely be one of them before it was her. She just planned on having a few drinks and then heading back home. She had to be on set at 9:00 in the morning for a costume fitting.

“So… how come we haven’t met this Case yet?” Nakita asked, taking a sip of her cocktail.

“Yeah. Why didn’t you bring him with you?” Taylor wanted to know. She tossed a long lock of glossy blonde hair over her shoulder.

Andrea hadn’t told them the news yet, and now didn’t seem like a good time. But it would have to come out sooner or later. As soon as the media found out, it would be everywhere. Shaking her head, she said, “I don’t know how much longer this is going to last. He got some… weird news from Sarah today.”

“Sarah?” Taylor echoed. “Lockton? What did that bitch want?”

“Yeah, didn’t they break up a long time ago?” Nakita ran a hand through her short black curls.

“They did.” Andrea finished her drink and signaled the waitress for another. “She, uh, says she’s pregnant. And it’s his.”

“Say what now?” Taylor’s mouth hung open for a long moment. “Are you sh*tting me?”

“I wish I was.”

“No way!” Nakita insisted, shaking her head. “B*tch is tripping. She’s just making that up to break you two up.”

“Maybe.” Andrea didn’t know what to think. She might’ve thought the same thing, too, if she didn’t know that Sarah had been pregnant before. She couldn’t tell her friends that, though. That was a secret Case wouldn’t want her to reveal to anyone.

“That’s messed up. Is he gonna get a paternity test?” Nakita wanted to know.

“I hope so. I don’t know. I didn’t ask a lot of questions.” Her second drink arrived, and she wasted no time lifting her glass. “I just hope he isn’t planning on getting back together with her. But… I’m not sure I can date someone who is tied to Sarah for the next eighteen years.”

“But you like him, don’t you? I mean, all of those pictures of the two of you kissing—I haven’t seen you that happy in a long time,” Taylor reminded her.

“No, I do.” Andrea shook her head. She really did like Case a lot. Maybe it was more than like. She might not ever know now, though.

“Then fight for him,” Nakita insisted. “She can’t just come in here and break the two of you up because she doesn’t know how to use birth control.”

“Case says they always used birth control.” Andrea was more thinking allowed than responding to the statement.

“Then he definitely needs a paternity test. That’s messed up.” Taylor was shaking her head.

“I agree.” Andrea finished her second drink.

Before she could finish a third, Nakita had her by the wrist. “Come on, girl, they’re playing our song. Let’s dance.”

“I really don’t feel like dancing….” But Andrea’s response was cut off as her friends dragged her out on the dance floor.

As soon a Andrea started moving to the beat, she forgot that she didn’t want to dance. The alcohol was already affecting her. She’d drank too much, too fast, with no food.

Some guys came up behind her, and the next thing she knew, she was dancing with them. A cocktail waitress came by, and Andrea ended up with another drink in her hand. The more she drank, the more friendly she got with the men until she found herself in a pretty provocative position with one of them. It was then that she looked up and saw his face. “Travis!” she cooed, totally wasted at this point. “How long have you been here?”

“Long enough to know you’ve got the moves, beautiful.”

Andrea giggled and backed into him, her inebriated state preventing her from making the wisest of choices. He was hot, and more importantly, he was here. His hands seemed to be everywhere, and she wasn’t exactly pushing him away.

But her friends were. “Travis Copper, can’t you see the woman is drunk?” Taylor asked, pushing him back off of Andrea.

“So? I’m not that sober myself,” he replied, stepping back over.

Andrea felt a hand around her waist and realized it was Nakita. “You know she’s seeing someone.”

Travis looked around. “I don’t see anyone over here claiming her.”

“Well, now you see two people,” Taylor said, shaking her head at him. “Come on, Andrea. Let’s get you home before you do something stupid. Or someone stupid.” She rolled her eyes at the actor and then helped Andrea off of the dance floor.

She didn’t stop until Andrea was in the back seat of Nakita’s car heading home.

The world outside of the window was swirling, and Andrea felt like she was about to lose her lunch. “Pull over!” she shouted, but the driver couldn’t hear her. Nakita got the window down just in time for Andrea to stick her head out at a red light.

“I hope the paparazzi didn’t see that,” Taylor said, still shaking her head.

Feeling revolting, Andrea pulled her head back in the window, vowing never to drink so much again.
