Chapter 74 Sarah Gets an Accomplice
Something was up with Sarah and Travis….
Andrea had noticed an awful lot of whispering going on. The two of them had disappeared together several times throughout the morning whenever they weren’t on set. Andrea had pulled him off in private a few times, and Travis had grabbed her hand and yanked her into one of the rooms next to the restroom, too. Something was up, and Andrea didn’t like it.
“Kelsey, I need you to do me a solid,” she said between shoots while the other two were off doing God knows what.
“Sure thing, Andrea. Whatever you need, girl,” her assistance said.
“I think my dear sister and my leading man are up to something,” Andrea said quietly. “I’d like for you to see if you can figure out what it is.”
“That shouldn’t be too hard. Sarah’s voice is loud enough that whispers can be heard miles away.”
Andrea snickered. “See if you can get it on video or at least audio if you can. Whatever they’re up to, I want it documented.”
“Got it.” Kelsey winked at her and then headed off in the same direction that the other two had disappeared.
Andrea took some deep breaths, trying to slow down her racing heart. Now that she’d handed the situation over to Kelsey, she shouldn’t worry about it anymore. She glanced around and saw Gidget standing over by the refreshment table. If she’d noticed Andrea sending Kelsey over to spy on Sarah and Travis, she didn’t move. Travis’s assistant wasn’t moving in either. Hopefully, this would work, and if Sarah was up to no good, she’d be foiled before she could do something to hurt Andrea. She was done with Sarah’s tricks.
A few minutes later, Cam called Travis and Andrea on set for a scene. Andrea got through it without any problems, but Travis was preoccupied, as if he were having trouble concentrating. She had a suspicion it had to do with whatever he and Sarah were scheming about.
“Hey, when we’re done,” Travis said between shoots, “would you mind coming over and looking at my costume for tomorrow? Nevaeh always does such a good job, but I’m not sure about the pants.”
Andrea raised an eyebrow. “Uh… is that what you and Sarah were doing?”
“Sarah and I aren’t doing anything.” He was very defensive.
“Oh, I just noticed the two of you went off together for a while earlier. A couple of times.”
“Huh? No we didn’t. I went to the bathroom. I’m not sure where she was.”
“To the bathroom? For twenty minutes?” She raised an eyebrow at him.
“Uh… I had tacos for lunch.”
Andrea made a face, not because she thought that was true but because she was imagining how gross it would be if it were. “Okay. I’ll look at the pants.”
“Awesome. Thanks.” For an actor, he wasn’t very good at playing it cool.
There was no doubt in Andrea’s mind now that the two of them were up to something, and whatever it was, she didn’t like it.
As soon as the scene was over, Travis headed over to the area where costumes were kept. It was a secluded area of the larger sound space, and there wasn’t anyone else over there. At least, there didn’t appear to be. Andrea wasn’t sure. She knew Kelsey was aware that she was headed that direction, and she had a feeling her assistant was savvy enough to follow. Whether anyone else lingered in the shadows, she figured she was about to find out.
“What do you think?” Travis asked, pulling the pants up off of the hanger but moving away from her as he did so.
“Uh….” Andrea moved closer to have a look as he moved away, and suddenly, an arm or something shot out from underneath the racks, causing her to fall forward. Travis moved forward at the exact same time, and Andrea’s face collided with his, just as he puckered up.
A flash went off from across the open space, and a maniacal laugh filled Andrea’s ears. “What are you doing, Andrea?” Sarah asked, coming up with her phone in her hand. “Are you making out with Travis between the costumes? Gosh, I wonder what Case is going to think when he sees this.” She held her phone up to show that she’d captured the scene for posterity.
“Someone tripped me!” Andrea looked down at the floor, but whoever had been there was gone now.
“Well, that’s not what this picture is going to show.” Sarah shrugged and then looked at her phone. “To Case and the rest of the world, it’ll look like you were leaning in to kiss Travis.”
Putting her hands on her hips, Andrea said, “You’ll never get away with this, Sarah.”
With a smirk, the actress said, “Watch me.”
