Chapter 78 Back Together
The rest of the week went by quickly. Sarah was as pleasant as possible when she was on stage because Cam had put her on notice that one more incident, and he’d be reshooting all of her scenes with someone else. While the movie itself probably wasn’t that big of a deal to Sarah since her part was so small, she didn’t need another black mark against her name. As it was, there were directors who didn’t want to work with Sarah because of her reputation.
As soon as Andrea was done filming Friday, she headed to the airport. She was already packed and ready to go. The idea of getting on Case’s jet and flying to North Carolina to see him had her bubbling with excitement.
She’d decided to take Kelsey with her so that he assistant could handle anything that came up with the movie or anything else while Andrea did her best to enjoy her weekend. It would just be easier if Kelsey was actually there so that she wouldn’t have to be calling her constantly. Besides, even though Andrea wasn’t as nervous to fly now that she had done so a few times since the near plane wreck before Christmas, it was nice to have someone else there that she trusted who could keep her calm.
They loaded onto the jet and the captain came and talked to them, letting them know how long the flight would last and what to expect. When they took off, Andrea dug her nails into the leather at first, but then she was fine.
She spent most of the flight looking out the window or napping. Kelsey was playing a game on her new phone. Andrea had gotten her the brand new iPhone, top of the line everything, in thanks for her help with Sarah. She really was the best assistant a person could ask for.
When they landed at the airport in Charlotte, butterflies took off in her stomach. She couldn’t wait to see Case! The pilot pulled the plane to a stop, and when the flight attendant said they were clear, Andrea bounded out of the plane.
He was there, waiting for her, with open arms. She flew over to him, wrapping her arms around him, and then his mouth was on hers, and she didn’t care who was watching or what they thought. The kiss lasted a long time, and when she finally came up for air, she was smiling from ear to ear. “Hi,” Andrea said as Case caressed her cheek.
“Hi, beautiful. It’s so nice to see you.”
He kissed her again, and they might’ve stood there all night if Kelsey hadn’t cleared her throat. “Sorry to interrupt, but the bags are all loaded into the car. I’ll sit in front with the driver so the two of you can continue in the backseat.” She winked at them and then went around to the passenger side of the car to get in.
The driver opened the back door for them, also grinning at the two love birds.
Case gestured with his arm, and Andre climbed in, scooting over, and putting on her seat belt before she returned her attention to Case who had done the same. “You are so gorgeous,” he whispered, and then his mouth was on hers again.
At some point, the car started and stopped. Andrea missed all of that. Nor had she seen a single thing out the window during the commute. She only knew they were at Case’s house because he pulled back and unhooked his seatbelt. “We’re here.”
“Oh? All ready?”
Laughing, he said, “It’s been twenty minutes.”
She’d lost all track of time.
Case came around and opened her door before the driver could. A few people came out of the house to unload their bags, and Kelsey stepped out of the car as well, a grin on her face. Andrea figured that meant her lipstick was messed up or something—maybe her hair. So she straightened herself up before she took in the house.
It was beautiful! Two stories, made of rustic logs but still polished and nicer than just about any other house she’d ever seen. The porch was wide, with a swing on it. There were trees all around the house, and the lot was beautiful, green and full of chirping birds and scampering squirrels. It was like stepping into a fairytale, into an enchanted forest.
“Do you like it?” Case asked in her ear.
“I love it!”
“Great. I can’t wait to show you the inside.” He took her hand and led her up onto the inviting, wide porch and through the door.
The inside was even more welcoming. The foyer stretched to the second story. The walls were a yellow pine, and the floors matched. The artwork was all nature inspired. They walked into a comfy living space, and behind her, Andrea could see a spacious kitchen and dining area, but what took her breath away was the view out the back window.
The whole back side of the house was a wall of windows that looked out on a pristine pond and a view of wooded hills. The clear, blue sky filled the top of the windows, and Andrea imagined at night she could see a million stars.
He led her up the wide staircase to where the bedrooms and a large game room and movie room were located. “Kelsey, this is your room. It has a private bathroom.”
“Great, thank you so much.” She stepped inside, and Andrea looked over her shoulder. It was a beautiful room with more big windows.
Case led her down the hall to the master bedroom. “This is my room. You can stay in here with me or I can set you up in another bedroom.”
Andrea smiled at him and walked in. The bed was huge, with a dark blue bedspread that matched the curtains that decorated the tops and sides of more expansive windows. The view here was also of the back yard. All of Case’s furniture was in deep blues and yellow pine, and the sitting area near the window looked so comfortable. A large fireplace beneath a flat screen TV made her think of cozying up in bed before a roaring fire and watching Christmas movies.
“This is amazing, Case!”
She stepped into the bathroom and was instantly reminded of a spa. Everything was large enough for two—including the deep Jacuzzi tub and the shower. The marble was a light cream color.
Stepping up behind her, Case wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck. “We can take a bath later, if you want.”
“That sounds… lovely.” She leaned back into him, relishing the feel of his lips on her neck. “But for now, I think I’d like to see if that bed is as plush as it looks.”
“Oh? Are you tired? Did you want to take a nap?”
Andrea spun around to look him in the eyes, certain he was teasing. “I’m not tired at all.” She leaned up on her tiptoes and found his mouth, pushing him back into the bedroom so he’d know exactly what she had in mind.
