Chapter 134 Vegas, Baby

Waiting in a limo at the airport, Case watched the planes roll in. He’d gotten a call from Andrea to let him know that she was on her way—early—because something had happened during filming that afternoon. She said she’d wait to tell him, but it hadn’t taken much of an online search for Case to find out the director had been arrested. What for, he didn’t know, but if it had anything to do with Andrea, there would be another name on his list of people who’d better never meet Case in a dark alley.

He recognized his own jet coming in for a landing, and a smile took over his face.

Regardless of what had happened earlier today, it was his job to take Andrea’s mind off of it and show her a good time while she was with him. He knew how much she loved Vegas, and he’d booked a room in her favorite hotel, Paris, to make it an even more special get away. Tonight, he’d take her wherever she liked and spare no expense to make sure she forgot all about the chaos surrounding her back at home.

She practically flew down the stairs to the plane, wrapping her arms around him. She looked gorgeous in a red cocktail dress, which made him think she was ready for a night out as well. Kelsey followed, a smile on her face, and as Case kissed his woman hello, the assistant got in the front of the car with the driver to give them some quality time together.

“Where are we headed?” Andrea asked, once they’d come up for air and gotten into the car.

“Wherever you’d like. Dinner? A show? Gambling? Shopping? The night is yours. Whatever you’d like to do, that’s what we’ll do.”

With a huge grin on her face, she said, “I am kind of hungry. What do you recommend for dinner?”

“What are you in the mood for?”

“I don’t know…. Steak sounds good.”

“I know just the place.” Case picked up the phone and called the driver who assured him he’d happily take them to the restaurant Case had in mind while Kelsey made a reservation for them. Once he’d dropped them off, the driver would take Kelsey to her own room at the Paris hotel and then be ready to come back and get the couple as soon as Case called him.

The restaurant was crowded because NASCAR was in town, but they had no problem finding a table for the Daytona 500 winner and the award nominated actress.

After a wonderful dinner of steak, potatoes, and chocolate mousse for dessert, Case took Andrea out on the town. It was great listening to her marvel at all of the beautiful, twinkling lights. They watched the fountain show at the Bellagio and then headed to the Venetian for a gondola ride, Andrea said that she was getting tired. Despite the fact that it wasn’t that late yet, Case listened to his woman and took her to the Paris hotel.

“Shall we go up the Eiffel Tower replica, or are you too tired for that?” Case asked, whispering in her ear as they walked hand in hand toward the lobby entrance.

Smiling at him, Andrea said, “I think I can stay awake for that.”

Case took her to the entrance and hastily bought two tickets. They rode the elevator up with a few other couples and a family of four. Then, they stepped out onto the observation deck.

Andrea exhaled, one hand over her chest, as she took in the sights. Everything was even more beautiful from up here—the hotels, the outline of the mountains cast against the twinkling stars, and especially the giant hot air balloon that symbolized the hotel.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so beautiful in my whole life!” Andrea exclaimed.

“I have,” Case assured her, leaning in for a kiss. She kissed him back, and after a few more minutes of staring at the gorgeous views from the observation deck, he took her back down the elevator and led her to their room, hopeful he could think of something else that could take her mind off of whatever had happened on set that day.
