Chapter 100
Agnes lifted her eyes and said softly, "Since you put it that way, how could I stay mad?" She knew when to go with the flow; being stubborn would just make her look unreasonable.
With their makeup, the vibe in the car turned super sweet.
"Agnes, if you're not feeling well, skip class. I'll take you to the office," Leopold said. He learned from Eden that she often felt off on the first day of her period.
Agnes wasn't one to be pampered. She waved it off, "Nah, I'll be more comfortable in class today." As long as she didn't do anything too crazy, she'd be fine.
"Alright, hit me up if you need anything." He finally let her go, straightened up, and helped her up, fixing her messy clothes. He even zipped up her down jacket.
Leopold thought about the snow outside. "Let Kevin drive you to the dorm."
"No way! I'll walk!" Leopold's car was too flashy. If he drove her to campus, it would definitely cause a scene.
Last time, her public confession to Leopold on campus, seen by just a dozen people, had already caused a stir. If Leopold drove her to the busy dorm area now, the whole school would be buzzing.
"What? You don't want everyone to know about us?" Even her confession last time was just to teach Grace a lesson.
Leopold felt a bit annoyed.
Seeing his displeasure, Agnes smiled, "Mr. Neville, you know your influence. If you drive me to campus and people see, I won't have any peace!"
Leopold snorted, "Call me 'honey,' and I'll let you out of the car."
Agnes wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a light kiss, "Honey!"
He responded with a passionate kiss. After a long while, Leopold reluctantly let her out of the car.
While Agnes was getting dressed, Leopold rolled down the window and told Kevin, "Open the car door for Agnes."
"Yes, sir," Kevin said.
Before Agnes could refuse, Kevin opened the car door.
She put on the hood of her down jacket, zipped it up to the top, covering her mouth and nose, and got out of the car.
When Agnes got to the dorm, Clara had just woken up. Seeing Agnes shivering as she rushed in, Clara poked her head out from under the covers, "Agnes, when did you go out?"
"I just went home for a bit. It's snowing outside. How about we go enjoy the snow after you wake up?" Agnes suggested.
Clara sat up and glanced at Bella's empty bed, "Bella didn't come back last night?"
"Classic Bella," Agnes laughed as she threw out the trash and recounted last night's events, "Bella asked her dad for two thousand dollars to get a card, but he accidentally sent twenty thousand. Afraid he'd take it back, she blocked him as soon as the money arrived. I bet she went out to splurge last night."
Clara laughed while getting dressed, "I bet Mr. Brown will come to the school looking for Bella today."
"Definitely. Mr. Brown was just saying last time that Bella's living expenses were way over budget," Agnes said.
Clara's eyes suddenly lit up, staring at Agnes, "Weren't you in a bad mood last night? Why are you so happy today? Did you run into Mr. Neville at home?"
Agnes's mood had changed dramatically. Last night, she had gone to the bar with Justin, looking glum, but now she was beaming, almost humming a tune.
Clara didn't believe it was just because of Bella!
"Yep!" Agnes didn't hide it. The dorm was empty except for the two of them; the others had gone to early classes.
"So, who apologized first, you or Mr. Neville?" Clara knew a bit about Agnes and Leopold's argument and was curious.
Agnes arrogantly huffed, "Of course, it was him!"
Clara stifled a laugh, "Agnes, with your terrible temper, the fact that Mr. Neville even apologized shows it must be true love!"
Agnes said, "He just gets on my nerves." And all these were because of Lydia.
Agnes felt exhausted.
"Alright, I'm going to wash up. We'll talk more in the classroom," Clara said.
"Okay, go ahead," Agnes said.
At the lunch cafeteria, Agnes thoughtfully watched the lovey-dovey couple at the next table, put down her fork, and sent a message to Leopold: [Leopold, I suddenly want some juice.]
Leopold replied quickly: [Okay.] But there was no follow-up after that.
Agnes stared blankly at the message. Was that it? No follow-up?
