Chapter 111
Everyone's eyes turned to Justin in unison. Justin cursed inwardly, 'Is Leopold taking it out on me because of Agnes?"
He slowly stood up, only to hear Leopold say, "Repeat what I taught in the first half of the class!"
Agnes snickered to herself, thinking, "If Justin can answer this, I'll eat my hat!"
Justin glanced at Jeremy for help, but Jeremy didn't even look at him, pretending not to care. With no other choice, Justin answered in despair, "Mr. Neville, my memory isn't very good."
Leopold gave him a cold look. "Stand there! The girl next to you, answer!"
The girl next to him? To Justin's right was a boy, and to his left was Agnes!
Agnes stood up with an inward groan.
"What is the abbreviation for Exchange-Traded Fund?" Leopold asked.
The whole class was stunned. No way, such a simple question? As finance students, did this question even need to be asked?
Agnes suppressed her laughter and answered loudly, "It's ETF!"
"Not bad!" Leopold on the podium even praised Agnes! Justin felt like losing it. Damn, these two were showing off their affection in class, and he was not having it!
What made him even more upset was what came next!
"The guy who can't answer, you need to dance for the girl who answered until she laughs," Leopold added seriously. "The girl can deliberately hold back her laughter."
The whole class burst into laughter.
Justin's face turned ashen. Leopold was too mean!
Feigning ignorance, Leopold said, "You can choose to refuse, but if you do, you'll need to come to my office!"
Justin replied, "Mr. Neville, I'll dance for Agnes!" His last words were almost squeezed out through gritted teeth.
After class, Leopold packed up his books and pointed to the words on the blackboard, saying to Justin, "Justin, you're tall, please erase the blackboard."
Justin remained silent. What did he ever do to deserve this?
Agnes propped her chin up, leisurely watching Justin angrily erase the blackboard.
Bella and Clara approached, looking at Agnes with curiosity. "Leopold really cares about you."
Agnes squinted and smiled. "Honestly, I found it strange that he asked me such a simple question today!"
Jeremy analyzed seriously, "I think Mr. Neville asked you on purpose. He saw you scolding Justin and must have guessed that Justin offended you. What he did was actually to vent your anger. It was a really clever move."
Jeremy not only excelled in studies but also made sense in his analysis, and the others nodded in admiration.
Justin blew the chalk dust off his fingers and glared at Agnes. "Leopold is out to get me! He's been on my case all day. Not only did he have Mr. Perez keep an eye on me, but he also made me erase the blackboard and dance for you. From now on, I'll keep my distance from you. I can't handle his jealousy!"
Agnes snorted, "Come on! I'm not even dating him, what's there to be jealous about? Just dance already!"
Thinking about having to dance to make Agnes laugh, Justin slammed the table in anger and shouted towards the empty doorway, "Leopold, I'll remember this! Revenge is a dish best served cold!"
Agnes immediately defended, "Justin, I recorded what you said, and I'll send it to him later!"
Justin's bravado vanished instantly, and he pleaded with a pained expression "Agnes, I'll dance, okay?"
"Go ahead!"
Some people in the classroom pretended to study but were actually waiting to see Justin dance. Justin drove them all out.
Bella held Agnes's hand, Clara held Bella's, and Jeremy, in a rare moment of humor, put his arm around Clara's shoulder, none of them willing to leave.
Finally, he didn't dawdle anymore and started dancing.
But no matter how long he breakdanced in the open space, Agnes remained expressionless, even yawning.
Seeing Justin exhausted, Bella kindly played some funny music for him. "Keep going, maybe a funny move will make Agnes laugh."
Justin looked at Agnes helplessly. "Agnes, if you don't laugh this time, we're not done!"
As the music started, Justin danced with great effort.
As soon as he started dancing, everyone else burst into laughter, except for Agnes, who was trying hard to hold it in.
As the song neared its end, Agnes finally couldn't hold back her laughter. "Justin, you look just like a funny character from a cartoon when you dance!"
Justin's tall, thin frame made him look like a wobbly marionette when he danced.
Seeing her laugh, Justin turned off the music and collapsed into a chair. "Agnes, how about you get a new husband?"
"No way!" She refused without a second thought. Leopold was so good; why would she change?
A minute later, she received a text message: [Tell Justin that the dance video has been recorded. If he doesn't want it to appear on the forum and Twitter, he should keep his mouth shut!]
Agnes looked around the multimedia classroom in surprise and suddenly noticed the surveillance camera in the corner. Nowadays, these cameras were incredibly high-definition, and they could hear everything clearly in the classroom.
Seeing her expression, Justin also looked at the camera and felt a sense of foreboding.
He grabbed Agnes's phone and looked at it, then collapsed weakly into the chair. "Mr. Neville, you're really something!" He swallowed all the curse words he wanted to say.
As the group left the classroom, Agnes sent a message to Leopold: [Did you really record it?]
Leopold: [I'm very busy, I don't have time to deal with him.]
Agnes: [Then how did you know what Justin said?]
Leopold: [I can see through his little schemes at a glance!]
Agnes was completely convinced and replied: [You're amazing, Leopold!]
Leopold: [Call me hubby!]
In the evening, as Agnes was leaving school, she was blocked at the gate by Grace.
She wanted to walk around her, but Grace clearly wasn't going to let her go. "Agnes!"
"What do you want?" She asked impatiently.
"What exactly is your relationship with Leopold?" Grace asked directly. She had to find out today. The whole school was now buzzing with rumors that the woman seen leaving the hotel with Leopold might be Agnes.
"What's it to you? Who do you think you are?" Agnes retorted.
Grace bit her lower lip. "My parents said you're married. When did that happen, and who did you marry?"
Last night, she overheard her parents' conversation and was shocked to find out that Agnes had gotten married so early. Thinking about the subtle interactions between her and Leopold, her unease grew stronger.
"Who I marry is none of your business. Stop asking these boring questions and spend more time with your parents!" Agnes replied.
Grace's sister Cherie was studying out of town, leaving Grace as the only child at home, and she rarely went back.
"Is it Michael?" Grace suddenly mentioned a name.
Hearing this name, Agnes finally looked at Grace seriously. "How do you know Michael?"
When she was dating Michael, she deliberately kept it from Grace, fearing Grace might interfere.
"I guessed right!" Grace couldn't hide her smugness. "No wonder you can afford $200,000 worth of cosmetics. The Wright Family is indeed wealthy. I didn't expect you to marry a rich man. What about Mr. Neville? What's your relationship with him?"
Grace couldn't figure out her relationship with Leopold. After all, how could Leopold possibly marry Agnes? Who would throw their own wife into the sea?
Agnes was really annoyed and raised her voice. "Grace, if you dare ask one more word, I'll kick your ass!"
Grace took a step back but still mustered the courage. "Are you feeling guilty? Are you dating two people at the same time? Does Mr. Neville know you're married? You've hidden it well; everyone is fooled by your innocent appearance!"
Agnes wouldn't actually get physical. For the sake of Grace's parents, she wouldn't do anything to her. Extremely annoyed, she walked away. Unexpectedly, Grace followed her. "Tell me your relationship with Mr. Neville, and I'll tell you where your brother is."
Grace's words made Agnes stop in her tracks.
Very few people in Lumina City knew that Agnes had a brother, Dustin, because he was sent abroad when he was young, and even Agnes didn't know the reason.
Before Henry passed away, he told her, "I'll be at ease if you marry Leopold. My only worry now is your brother Dustin. Agnes, if you get the chance, ask Mr. Neville to help find Dustin, okay? I'm really worried about him."
