Chapter 85

Leopold didn't say a word, just set his phone aside and pulled her into his arms with his long reach.

Agnes smelled so good, like a breath of fresh air.

He aimed for her lips, but she dodged, so his kiss landed on her cheek. He didn't seem to care. "I told you, we need to sleep together. Come to bed."

"No way! Leopold, I came back, but don't push it!" she snapped.

"You're back, so we should share a bed." Before she could protest, he scooped her up and plopped her onto the bed, holding her tight and turning off the light. "Sleep."

"Get off me, then I'll sleep! Otherwise, no one's sleeping tonight!" she shot back.

"No one's sleeping? Fine by me!" In the dark, he found her lips and kissed her deeply.

Just when Agnes thought he wouldn't stop, he pulled away, panting, "Sleep."

The next morning, Agnes dragged herself to the dining table, still half-asleep. Leopold had already finished breakfast and glanced at her. "Tell me your third condition from yesterday."

Third condition? What was her third condition? "Okay, why hasn't Kevin been around lately?" The thought of poor Kevin woke her up instantly.

Leopold didn't need more words to get what she was thinking.

He stood up. "Kevin's busy with work."

Agnes put down her fork and quickly grabbed the formal coat Robert handed over, trying to help Leopold put it on. "Let me help you. I'm your wife, after all, and I've never dressed you before."

"Agnes, what do you mean by 'after all'?" He didn't like the sound of that.

"Nothing." Halfway through, she remembered her stance and let go, almost making the coat fall off.

Leopold gave her a look, put on the coat himself, and said nothing.

Agnes went back to her usual self, mimicking his tone. "I told you I haven't completely forgiven you. If you want my forgiveness, you can't make things hard for Kevin. He's innocent; I threatened him!"

"Whether you threatened Kevin or not has nothing to do with me," he replied.

Agnes fell silent.

Alright, she needed his help, which was super annoying! "Can you lift the punishment on him?"

Leopold shot back, "Can you not be mad?"

She reluctantly agreed, "I can."

"Let's see how you behave," he said.

Agnes jumped up. "Then I won't forgive you!"

"Then Kevin stays at the construction site." With that, Leopold headed for the villa's entrance.

Agnes was silent, her mind racing, but Leopold had already changed his shoes, and she still hadn't come up with a solution. She had no choice but to run over and wrap her arms around his. "I'm not mad anymore, Leopold. Let Kevin come back!"

Robert opened the door, trying not to laugh. Agnes was getting more adorable by the day. She knew he preferred gentleness over toughness.

"What did you call me?" Leopold always had the upper hand.

Agnes shot an awkward glance at Robert, who wisely stepped out first.

Once she was sure Robert was out of earshot, she took Leopold's arm and softly said, "Honey."

Leopold's eyes lit up, clearly pleased, but he pretended to be dissatisfied. "Is Kevin really that important to you? Enough to make you cave so fast?"

"Of course not! Kevin and I are totally innocent. Even that time at Sunrise International Shopping Mall, I just wanted him to help hide our relationship. I didn't mean for him to get caught up in this. Please let him come back! Otherwise, I'll feel so guilty I won't be able to eat or sleep," she pleaded.

Her tone turned a bit playful. Leopold gently pulled her hand away, a smug smile on his face. "Focus on your classes later."

Then, he walked out without another word.

Agnes was left stunned. Was her heartfelt plea just now all for nothing?

After her yoga class, feeling a bit down, she headed to school with her lipsticks on, still waiting for a response from Leopold.

In the dorm, Bella, clutching several limited-edition lipsticks, excitedly hugged Agnes and kissed her. "Agnes, you're the best!"

Clara, who had just applied some rose-colored lip gloss, was even more thrilled. "Agnes, these lipsticks cost like six hundred bucks each. How can you be so generous to give me so many? Aren't you trying to save money? You could sell them online."

Agnes propped her chin. "It's a hassle. Since you've been recommending them for a while, let's call it mutual benefit."

Bella, wiping off her violet lip color, looked slyly. "Did you and Mr. Neville make up?"

Agnes hesitated for a moment, finding it hard to say. "Sort of."

Her anger seemed to melt away whenever she saw Leopold.

"That's great. Agnes, you two can show off your love all you want. We can handle it," Bella said.

Before Agnes could reply, her phone rang.

The caller ID showed Dennis. Agnes answered, "Dennis."

"Mrs. Neville, Mr. Neville asked me to deliver some items to you. His assistant, Anita Bridges, is already at the school parking lot. She was worried you wouldn't answer an unknown number, so she asked me to notify you," Dennis said.

"Okay, what are the items?" Agnes stood up, ready to head out.

"You'll see when you get there. Anita's car has the company plate number 5566." Dennis seemed to be at an airport, with flight announcements in the background.

"Alright, I'll head over now. Thanks, Dennis," Agnes said.

"You're welcome, Mrs. Neville. You can bring Bella and Clara along if you like," Dennis added.

Agnes was puzzled by this, but she still took Bella and Clara to the parking lot.

A white Mercedes SUV stood out at the parking lot entrance, drawing the attention of passing students. When they saw it was a woman in the driving seat, the fantasizing girls couldn't help but feel disappointed.

From a distance, Agnes saw a middle-aged woman in black workwear pacing by the car with the plate number 5566. "Hello, are you Anita?"
