Chapter 70

"Yes!" Dennis replied, then he gave his men a gesture, and everyone jumped into action, tearing the store apart.

Ignoring the shop owner's desperate pleas, Leopold led Agnes out of the jewelry store.

What went down inside stayed a secret. People outside heard the commotion but had no clue what really happened, so it didn't draw a crowd.

Leopold held her hand, silently walking through the busy alley.

She figured that if Leopold could find her, he must know where she was staying. Sure enough, he led her to the small motel she was staying at.

"Leopold," she called out.

Leopold didn't answer or even look back, just kept walking.

"Mr. Neville," she tried again.

Still no response from Leopold.

After calling out a few more times with no luck, Agnes jogged a bit to block his way.

Leopold gave her a cold glance but still said nothing.

She spoke politely, "Leopold, thank you."

Leopold suddenly let go of her hand, took off his formal jacket, and draped it over her dusty white casual clothes.

Before she could react, he picked her up and strode forward.

"Leopold," she called out again.

"Shut up!" Leopold snapped, clearly angry, and she immediately went quiet.

He found her room without any trouble. She had booked a lake-view room, always knowing how to treat herself.

Once inside, he put her down and locked the door. The first thing he did was try to help her undress.

Agnes was shocked and quickly grabbed his hand, "What are you doing?"

"Checking if you're hurt," he said firmly.

Agnes's face turned bright red, "Don't take off my clothes, Leopold. I was wrong; I'm sorry, okay?"

Leopold ignored her apology and pulled off her jacket. As she resisted, he simply lifted her shirt.

"Leopold, you can't take off my clothes, you jerk! Let go of me, or I'll have to get rough," Agnes said.

Leopold calmly turned her around, back facing him, and after confirming there were no obvious injuries, he put her clothes back in order.

Seeing that he was about to take off her pants, she quickly said, "I'm not hurt."

Leopold subtly breathed a sigh of relief and glanced at the blushing Agnes, "So Agnes, how should I punish you?"

The moment Agnes saw him, all her anger melted away, and she was ready to show weakness to Leopold. But hearing that he wanted to punish her, she quickly grabbed his big hand and said softly, "I know I was wrong. Please don't be mad anymore, okay?"

Apologizing in a cute way was as far as she could go; she couldn't push it any further.

Leopold wasn't buying it. No way he was gonna believe her that easily.

Agnes sighed to herself. For saving her, she promised, "I really know I messed up and I'm super grateful. I'll behave when we get back!"

He suddenly pulled her into his arms, making her heart race and her nerves spike.

Just as she was about to freak out, Leopold's deep voice whispered in her ear, "Next time, you're not going out alone."

She nodded quickly. Was he worried about her running into trouble on her own?

Looking up, she gathered the courage to ask, "Leopold, how did you find me?" A tiny hope flickered in her heart.

But Leopold just said casually, "Just passing by."

She didn't buy it. Thinking he came specifically to find her, she happily wrapped her arms around his neck, stood on tiptoe, and kissed his cheek. "Thank you, Leopold. You've shown me I don't have to face everything alone."

Compared to her unreliable friends like Justin and Michael, who kept saying he regretted but never did anything, Leopold was way better.

Surprisingly, Leopold pulled away, walked to the bedside, pressed the hotel intercom, and coldly said, "Room 1206 needs a first aid kit. Thanks."

As soon as he finished, he hung up without waiting for a response.

Agnes was silent. With such a cold tone, who would dare to bring the first aid kit?

Unexpectedly, within three minutes, the doorbell rang. Agnes quickly opened the door to see a staff member holding a first aid kit.

She took the kit and politely said, "Thank you, ma'am."

"You're welcome, miss," the staff replied.

Back inside, Leopold opened the first aid kit, took out what he needed, and pressed Agnes into a chair. "Sit still, I'll take care of your wounds."

"Can you handle it?" Agnes asked.

Leopold gave her a cool look, "When I was in the special forces, this was routine."

"You were really in the military! I knew it. That time on the school field, the way you stood showed you had training. So you were a special forces soldier! That's so cool! Then why didn't you stay in the military and instead become a corporate president?" she asked, curious.

She really wanted to see what Leopold looked like in a military uniform; he would definitely look super handsome!
