Chapter 188
Agnes turned over in bed and said helplessly, "Stop looking, you married an ordinary little bird from the start. Now that my status has become noble, my wings will be different too!"
Leopold couldn't be bothered to argue with her. He stretched out his arm and pulled her directly into his embrace. The down jacket had long been unzipped, making it easy to take off.
"Don't do that, it hurts, be gentle, okay? Alright, no wings. Don't strip me, I beg you!" Agnes's protests echoed continuously in the room. "Why are you kissing my back? There are no wings there."
Leopold looked exasperated, "Shut up!"
"No. I don't want to be suppressed by you, I have to resist!" Having been with Leopold for so long, Agnes knew very well that she must never compromise when he was angry, or he would make things go in an unpleasant direction.
Leopold continued his actions, his tone filled with anger. "You dare to meet Michael behind my back and even hug him! Do you not take me seriously at all?"
Agnes shook her head desperately, "I was wrong, I won't do it again, Leopold, please let me go!"
"You call me by my name? Then when you were hugging him, what did you call him? Mr. Wright? Michael? Or honey?"
Agnes immediately shut her mouth, trying to suppress her inner dissatisfaction.
"Why aren't you talking? Did he ever treat you like this before?" Leopold added.
"Leopold, are you crazy? No, I was wrong!" Agnes struggled hard, feeling truly wronged. Her first kiss was given to Leopold, wasn't it?
However, her struggle didn't change anything.
Not long after, Agnes lay weakly on the bed, enduring the discomfort in her body, squinting at Leopold as he tidied up his clothes.
She could never understand why Leopold, who looked so proper on the outside, became so wild once he took off his clothes.
After a while, Agnes suddenly started crying, pointing at the fully dressed Leopold and choking, "I want to sleep in separate rooms from you."
Leopold glanced at her coldly, buttoned his cuffs, and said domineeringly, "Not convinced? Want to go again?"
Agnes quickly shook her head, pulling up the quilt to cover herself, "No, I am wrong! You should hurry to the company!"
When Leopold went downstairs, he happened to meet Tiffany watching TV in the living room. Seeing him pass by, she snorted, "What were you two making such a racket for? The servants all heard it! Young people these days are really shameless!"
Leopold didn't stop, "Grandma, if you don't want to hold a great-grandchild soon, I'm in a hurry to become a dad."
Indeed, Tiffany also wanted it extremely. Her eldest son Alfred's first child was already in middle school and had gone to their grandfather's house for the holidays after a fight with Alfred. Her second son Nicholas had poor health and had never had children. Her youngest son Gerald's son Leopold had become her only hope.
After Leopold left, Tiffany turned off the TV and sat in the living room, staring at the view of the estate outside the window, lost in thought.
When Agnes woke up, it was already late. She dragged her tired body into the bathroom, planning to take a bath. The mirror reflected her bruised and battered appearance, looking like she had been abused.
Agnes didn't know how she had fallen to this point, and cursed Leopold secretly in her heart, 'Leopold is simply a bastard.'
The next day, Agnes rarely had a quiet day at the Neville Manor. Strangely, even when eating at the same table, no one bothered her.
After a simple lunch, Agnes returned to her room. Maybe it was because she had expressed her stance, so Tiffany didn't hold it against her. If that were true, it would be great.
In the afternoon, Agnes went to the hospital with Jocelyn to visit Billy.
Billy was still in a coma, and there was no communication between Agnes and Jocelyn. After visiting Billy, Jocelyn had the driver take Agnes back to the manor while she went to the company.
Agnes was particularly puzzled, not understanding why Jocelyn had brought her to the hospital.
Visiting Billy was normal, but going together seemed odd.
Although confused, Agnes didn't ask, obediently returning to the Neville Manor from the hospital.
When she returned to the Neville Manor, Tiffany and Lydia were walking in the estate. Seeing Agnes return, they acted as if they didn't see her. Agnes still politely greeted Tiffany, who glanced at her without saying anything.
Back in her room, the more Agnes thought about it, the more something felt off. She had never experienced such peace since coming to the Neville Manor, thinking this might be the calm before the storm. As a result, she was right.
On the third night, after dinner, the whole family was summoned to the living room by Tiffany.
Tiffany specifically called Leopold, asking him to come back early from the company.
Since the Michael incident, Leopold's attitude towards Agnes remained indifferent, but this time, seeing so many people in the living room, he naturally sat next to Agnes.
Once Leopold arrived, Tiffany cleared her throat and began to speak, first looking at Agnes, "I heard your studies are not very good?"
Agnes asked in confusion, "What's the matter?" 'Is tonight a meeting to criticize me? Or are they going to tutor me?' She thought to herself.
Tiffany gave her a cold look, "I don't care about poor grades, but as a Neville, stealing is unacceptable!"
Agnes was even more puzzled, "What did I do?"
Tiffany put on an imposing stance, "Since the day you came in, I lost a string of gemstone bracelets, Lydia lost a limited edition lipstick, and Jocelyn lost a limited edition purse."
Agnes immediately understood, "So, you suspect that I took them?"
Tiffany sneered, "It's not a suspicion, it's a certainty!"
Agnes was both angry and amused, "Sorry, Mrs. Neville, thanks to Leopold's care, he has bought me many things, any one of which is worth more than your gemstone bracelet. As for the lipstick, Leopold opened a lipstick studio for me. As for the limited edition purse, no matter how valuable it is, it's just that. Do you think, given that Leopold has given me so many good things, I would still covet these items?"
