Chapter 174
"I don't care," Leopold replied.
Kevin felt extremely frustrated. "After all, I'm your assistant, Mr. Neville."
Leopold lit a cigarette, took a puff, and then spoke, "I heard you've been staying at the coffee shop next to the company these days."
Kevin clutched his chest in agitation, "Mr. Neville, today is New Year's Eve. Besides working overtime for you, I've been staying here for two days because of your call. My tenth blind date is arriving in ten minutes."
He couldn't even go home at night.
"This only indicates one problem."
"What?" Kevin asked while typing on the keyboard.
"Your standards have risen after following me for these years."
"What do you mean by that? It's not that my standards are high, I just hope my future partner doesn't have to be too beautiful, half as good-looking as Mrs. Neville would be fine. I don't need her to be particularly lively and cheerful, but if she has half the personality of Mrs. Neville, that would be great. I don't need her to know martial arts to protect me, learning dance or yoga would be enough."
Meanwhile, Leopold frowned, feeling that Kevin had a thing for Agnes. "It sounds like you're quite satisfied with Agnes?"
Kevin, busy deleting negative comments, responded casually, "Of course, Mrs. Neville is such a unique person, you're really lucky."
"Kevin." Leopold's voice turned colder.
Kevin suddenly shivered and glanced at the air conditioner that was on. "Yes, I'm deleting those nasty posts."
The air conditioner was on, but why did he still feel a bit chilly?
"After the holiday, go to Meadowbrook City as an assistant. It's said that same-sex relationships are more open than here. Go and see if you can bring back a romantic partner. I'll ask the local boss to keep an eye out for you. You like muscular men, right? It's decided."
Kevin's actions stopped. "What? Wait, Mr. Neville, what did I just say? I didn't mean that! Hey, don't hang up!"
Seeing the call ended on his phone, his face instantly turned gloomy.
He immediately dialed Agnes' number, as she was his only hope now.
However, Agnes' phone was off.
Kevin gave himself a loud slap, realizing he shouldn't praise Agnes in front of Leopold, who was jealous.
Bella walked into the coffee shop and saw Kevin slapping himself. "Mr. Thomas, what happened?"
'Could it be that today's blind date for Cindy Chambers was him?' Bella thought to herself.
Kevin looked at Bella in confusion. "Why are you here?"
Bella looked around. "Are you here to meet Cindy?"
Kevin checked his phone and confirmed the next meeting was with Cindy. "Are you her friend? Where is she?"
"She won't be coming tonight, she asked me to tell you." Bella was a bit puzzled. "A top assistant like you still needs to go on blind dates? Didn't Mr. Neville arrange a partner for you?"
Kevin glanced at her, seemingly thinking about something. "There are some things I want to ask you, your comments online have caused quite a stir, do you know that?"
How could she not know? Her comment was liked by countless people, and Leopold might take action against her for Lydia. Now, her only support was Agnes, but she couldn't reach her. Bella shrank her neck and unnaturally brushed her hair. "Sorry, I don't quite understand what you're talking about."
If she kept denying, Kevin couldn't do anything to her.
Seeing her pretending to be calm, Kevin couldn't help but laugh. He had already found out her ID, and her guilty eyes had already exposed everything. He turned the computer towards her, pointing to rows of data. "Look, because of your comment, I've been busy for the past two days. Yesterday I had to control public opinion, today I'm busy removing headlines, deleting comments, and retracting news!"
"Isn't this something the tech department should do? Why are you, an assistant, doing this?" Bella asked.
"Bella, everyone is on holiday, the tech department is on vacation, okay? And I feel more at ease doing this myself." Kevin also took this opportunity to decline the blind date invitations, as he was too busy with work to chat.
Bella looked at Kevin working intently. "Do you really have to delete it?"
"Why keep it?"
Bella wasn't stupid, she knew she couldn't deny it anymore, so she admitted, "What I said is all true!"
"Whether it's true or false has nothing to do with me, I just follow orders," Kevin said firmly.
Bella rolled her eyes. Kevin was indeed a former soldier, always following the rules. She stood up from the chair. "I just came to tell you Cindy won't be coming, you continue with your work, I'm leaving."
"Wait!" Kevin suddenly called out to her.
"What?"
"Sit here, don't move, I'll buy you a cup of coffee." Kevin had a sudden idea.
Bella gave him an eye roll. "Do I look like someone who needs a cup of coffee?"
"Then do me a favor."
"What favor?" Bella felt Kevin was very cunning, she had to be careful.
Kevin thought for a moment and said, "Let me take a photo of you, I'll ask Mr. Neville to plead for you, let him let go of the matter of you slandering Lydia, how about that?"
Bella got angry. "When did I slander Lydia? Yes, I posted that comment, but I told the truth! Watch your words, okay?"
"Okay, it's my fault, Ms. Brown. The point is your comment caused a lot of trouble for Lydia, Mr. Neville might ask me to handle this matter, understand?" If it were before, Leopold would definitely deal with Bella.
But now that Leopold had Agnes and pampered her so much, whether he would deal with Bella was uncertain.
Kevin was also using Leopold's name to pressure Bella.
Bella hesitated for a moment, gritted her teeth and said, "It's okay, I have Agnes' support."
"Agnes? She's still adjusting to the time difference, by the time you reach her, it might be too late," Kevin said.
Bella knew he was right, as she couldn't reach Agnes' phone.
She tentatively asked, without knowing Kevin was in trouble too, "Can you really plead for me?"
"Of course!" Kevin was delighted to see hope.
"Alright, just a photo, by the way, why do you need my photo?"
