Chapter 57

"I know," he said, keeping it short.

Agnes was caught off guard, her cheeks turning a bit pink.

Leopold added, "You'll get better in the future." He was sure he could change her.

Not wanting to argue, she leaned in and said seriously, "If you hand over the Wonderhaven Private Club to me, I guarantee that in less than six months, maybe three months, I'll run it into the ground!"

Leopold leaned in too, his deep voice whispering in her ear, "No, you just need to collect the dividends. Don't worry about anything else."

Since the legal rep of Wonderhaven Private Club had changed, she was now the major shareholder.

'Leopold, can we have a proper conversation? How can you be so charming? My heart is almost stolen by you.' Blushing, she pulled back a bit. "How about this: If you agree not to change the legal owner, I won't bring up divorce?" Actually, having a husband like Leopold wasn't so bad.

Leopold glanced at her, feeling satisfied. She was already starting to waver. "No need to negotiate with me because I don't think you have the leverage. Let me be clear, you are the legal owner, and we are not getting divorced!"

This was too domineering.

The first thing that arrived was the Durian Pizza. Agnes looked at the golden crust and swallowed, ready to dig in.

But Leopold snatched away her pizza cutter.

At some point, he had rolled up his shirt sleeves and was now elegantly and swiftly slicing the pizza.

A piece of steaming hot pizza lay quietly on the plate in front of her. She felt a surge of emotion.

For many years, she had been tough and carefree on the surface, but she had never experienced such meticulous care.

Even when she frequently dined with Justin, they each handled their pizza.

During her two-year relationship with Michael, they never ate high-end food together. Overall, she gave more in that relationship.

"Why aren't you eating?" Leopold asked, having already cut the entire pizza into many small pieces.

He put down the utensils and looked at her with a puzzled expression.

Agnes snapped out of it, her expression returning to normal. She slowly started eating the pizza with a fork. After a few bites, she noticed that Leopold hadn't eaten the pizza. "Aren't you going to try some?"

His utensils had already been pushed aside. She reached out with one hand to retrieve them.

"No need!" Leopold refused.

He had no interest in this strange and strong-flavored food.

"But I ordered a portion for two." Even though she had a big appetite, she couldn't eat all this food by herself.

Leopold's gaze fell on the pizza on her fork, which had only two or three bites left. He reached out and put that piece into his mouth.

Agnes exclaimed, "I already ate that."

He wiped the durian residue from the corner of his mouth with a napkin and, after chewing, said, "I know."

Later, all of Agnes's pizza was served to her plate piece by piece by Leopold.

Starving, Agnes ended up eating all the food she had ordered.

Looking at the empty plates on the table, Agnes asked embarrassedly, "Did I eat too much?" People often joked about her enormous appetite.

Because of this, some girls even looked down on her, calling her a glutton.

"Yeah," he didn't deny it.

He had dined with many women before, and to be honest, what Agnes ate tonight could last them several days.

Agnes felt a twinge of disappointment. Maybe he looked down on her, too!

Leopold pulled out a napkin and wiped the food residue from the corner of her mouth. "Eating much is a blessing!"

There was no mockery or insincerity in his words; she could feel that he seemed to be praising her.

For some reason, Agnes felt very happy inside.

Just because he repeated what her father used to say to her, she couldn't help but smile.

If her father saw this scene, he would definitely tease her! After all, she wasn't this happy when her father said it back then.

They walked out of the restaurant, and it was already ten o'clock at night. Leopold walked into a nearby convenience store, bought two bottles of mineral water, and handed her one. "Rinse your mouth."

"Okay," she said.

Leopold rinsed his mouth and drank the entire bottle of water. Agnes hadn't even opened her bottle yet and couldn't help but ask, "Why are you so thirsty?"

"My mouth tastes like durian," Leopold said.

Alright, so he didn't like durian.

Agnes silently noted his little aversion, thinking that if he ever annoyed her again, she'd buy a big durian for him to eat!

Agnes saw Leopold throw the empty bottle into the trash can, her lips curling into a slight smile, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Leopold!" She suddenly jumped in front of him.

Leopold responded softly.

Agnes suddenly wrapped her arms around his waist, stood on tiptoe, and pressed her soft lips against his thin ones.

For Agnes, this was the second time she had initiated a kiss with a man.

Leopold was slightly stunned. Just as he realized Agnes's intention and was about to pull away, she held him tightly, her tongue skillfully exploring his mouth.

She hadn't even brushed her teeth and had eaten a whole Durian Pizza.

Confirming that he had tasted the durian flavor, Agnes immediately let go. Leopold looked helplessly at the mischievously triumphant Agnes and headed back to the convenience store.

"Leopold, I want to go home! Right now!" Agnes deliberately blocked him, pulling his arm forcefully towards the car.

Under the streetlight, Agnes had just opened the passenger door, intending to push Leopold inside, but the door was forcefully locked.

The next second, she was pulled into a firm embrace. Leopold pressed her against the car door and kissed her deeply.

Agnes didn't know when she was pushed into the car; she only remembered that as the emotions grew intense, Leopold's phone rang, interrupting the heated moment inside the car.

He intended to ignore it, but Agnes, having come to her senses, quickly pushed him away, got up, and got out of the car.

By the time she sat in the driver's seat, Leopold had already answered the call, his voice slightly hoarse, "Is that all?"

"Leroy, there's a lead on that woman, but I'm not telling you!" With that, Leopold decisively hung up and, still feeling unsatisfied, turned off his phone.

Back at the villa, Agnes locked the car door, clutched the keys, and quickly ran inside.

As she was going upstairs, Leopold's voice came from behind, "What's that next to you?"
