Chapter 66
The bar was packed, making it tough for Agnes, the running champ, to do her thing. They barely got anywhere before a bodyguard stopped them.
Without missing a beat, she took down the bodyguard in her way.
By the time she got to the seventh one, everything went quiet behind her, and Agnes got a bad feeling. Justin was staring at her, then at Leopold behind her, unsure if they should keep running.
Agnes took care of the last bodyguard in front of her, pretending not to notice Leopold behind her, and charged ahead.
"Stop!" Leopold's icy voice made Agnes freeze.
The crowd around them backed off, scared of Leopold's intense vibe.
"What do we do? What do we do?" Agnes whispered to Justin.
Like he had any idea. "Maybe I run first, and you go calm your husband down. He is your husband, after all!" Justin said.
"No way! You're ditching me?" Agnes pinched him hard, making Justin yelp and jump, clutching his arm.
"Agnes, he's your husband. Just act all cute and sweet, and it'll be fine. Trust me, guys love that!" Justin said.
"Act cute? Sweet?" Agnes was about to cry; that was so not her thing!
Before she could think, Justin tugged at her sleeve, almost jumping with anxiety. "Act cute to him! Your husband’s coming over. This is our last shot!"
Agnes spun around, closed her eyes, and hugged Leopold from behind, burying her face in his chest. "Leopold, I feel so dizzy. Who am I? Where are we?"
Everyone went silent.
Leopold caught a whiff of alcohol on Agnes and frowned, giving Justin a cold look. "What's going on?"
Justin got the hint and was about to mention Brian but realized Brian had already bailed.
"It's nothing. Agnes just had a couple of drinks. Right, Agnes?" Finally, Justin raised his voice, shouting at the silent Agnes.
Agnes nodded quickly, "Yeah, I feel so dizzy. Leopold, can we go home?"
Leopold didn't call out her act, his face calm as he scooped Agnes up in his arms.
Gasps of surprise came from around them, "What's the deal with that woman and Mr. Neville?"
"No clue, why is Mr. Neville carrying her?"
As they passed Justin, Leopold didn't forget to kick him, "Do you want to be punished? How dare you let her drink so much!"
Justin howled in pain, retorting indignantly, "I couldn't stop her! Fine, my bad."
Leopold shot him a look, and Justin shut his mouth, feeling totally wronged.
Agnes quietly lifted her head and mouthed to Justin, "I'm sorry!"
Justin snorted, ignoring her. It was all her fault, making him take a kick from Leopold! His foot hurt so much. Even his dad had never kicked him that hard!
If he ever got the chance, he would definitely get back at Leopold, make him beg for mercy. Just thinking about it made him happy!
As Leopold was walking out, he suddenly turned back, shooting a cold glare at Justin, who immediately ran off in fright.
Dennis saw Leopold carrying a woman out of the bar and quickly opened the back door of the Emperor car.
Agnes pretended to sleep as soon as she got in the car, and before she knew it, she was actually out cold.
She had no clue when they got back to the villa until she was jolted awake by cold water. She found herself in the bathtub, shivering as cold water poured over her. "Leopold, you're such a jerk!"
"You're awake?" Leopold said, trying to keep his anger in check. The car had reeked of alcohol, showing just how much she had drunk.
Money was scattered all over the bathroom floor. Ignoring her wet clothes, Agnes climbed out of the tub, heartbrokenly picking up the soaked bills.
This was her hard-earned cash. No, looking at Leopold's murderous gaze, she realized this was money she had risked her life for!
Leopold didn't stop her. Only after she had picked up every bill did he speak, "Go change your clothes."
"Why?" Agnes asked.
"We're going out," Leopold replied.
Agnes searched his face for any clue of what he was feeling, but his expression was blank, so she had no choice but to nod.
She changed her clothes and walked out of the room to find Leopold waiting downstairs.
They got into the car, which slowly drove away from the villa. Watching the scenery pass by outside the window, Agnes remembered the last time they went to Martyrs' Cemetery and immediately asked warily, "Where are we going?"
"Sunrise International Shopping Mall," Leopold replied.
Hearing this, Agnes breathed a sigh of relief. But what were they going to do at Sunrise International Shopping Mall so late?
It wasn't until the car parked and Agnes stumbled out, taking the elevator to the top floor, that she understood their destination.
"Leopold, I was wrong!" She clung tightly to the pillar by the elevator, unwilling to take another step.
Leopold ignored her pleas, mercilessly dragging her into the cinema. It was prime movie time, but as soon as Leopold appeared, someone respectfully greeted them and led them to the largest theater.
Once the manager left, Agnes immediately clung to Leopold. "Leopold, I really know I was wrong. You serious? You want me to watch a horror movie this late at night? My heart can't take it!"
Leopold remained silent, leading her to sit in the center of the theater.
The screen lit up, showing an ancient, dark tomb. "Leopold, I've already apologized. What more do you want? I promise I won't drink again, okay? Please, let me go!" Seeing no way to avoid it, she covered her ears, looking at him helplessly.
Agnes was on the verge of breaking down, both scared and angry! After begging for so long to no avail, she exploded, "You freak, I want a divorce! I'm going to get a divorce right now!"
Leopold's cold gaze swept over her, "Sit down."
She stood up, desperately trying to block out the terrifying sound effects around her. "You watch, and I'm not watching it!" She threw the theater glasses far away.
She was utterly disgusted with this annoying Leopold! She was definitely getting a divorce!
But the theater door was locked, and no one responded to her knocking.
She leaned against the door, stomping her feet, covering her ears, closing her eyes, and shouting, "Leopold, you big jerk, let me out. I want out!"
