Chapter 108

She nodded, picking up on his genuine vibe. Lately, folks had been saying she seemed more graceful and accomplished.

All thanks to Leopold.

Who wouldn't want to better themselves? She had always wanted to, but never knew where to start and lacked the motivation without someone pushing her.

Now, with Leopold's support and guidance, how could she not strive to improve?

Agnes took a deep breath, smiled, and started dreaming about her future. "One day, I'll surpass you and take your place. You'll stay home, handle the chores, and take care of the kids. If I'm not satisfied, there will be consequences. When I'm in a good mood, I'll take you out for a walk. Just thinking about it makes me happy."

Leopold chuckled at her playfulness. He kissed her palm lightly and said, "Alright, I'll wait for you to become successful enough to replace me. I'll stay home, take care of our kids, cook for you, and take care of you for the rest of our lives."

Leopold's smile was full of happiness.

Agnes blushed at the mention of kids, her heart racing. The thought of having children with him filled her with joy.

A light knock on the door of the private room startled Agnes. She quickly pulled her hand back and took a sip of her juice.

Leopold's hand, left hanging in mid-air, hesitated. "Agnes, are you embarrassed to be seen with me?"

Agnes hadn't realized her actions had hurt Leopold and looked confused. "What? No, of course not."

How could that be? She wished the whole world knew her husband was Leopold! But given his special status, she thought it was better to keep a low profile.

"Come in," Leopold called out to the waiter to serve the dishes.

The table quickly filled with food, and under Leopold's attentive care, Agnes's stomach was soon round and full. After the meal, Leopold wanted to order more food for her, worried she hadn't eaten enough.

Agnes simply pulled his hand and placed it on her stomach. "I'm really full, honestly. If you don't believe me, feel it."

Her stomach was indeed bulging. Leopold closed the menu with one hand, and the other hand on her stomach suddenly moved upward.

"Leopold!" Agnes was caught off guard by the sudden intimacy and quickly grabbed his hand.

A mischievous smile flashed in Leopold's eyes.

"Let's go!" He stood up first, acting as if nothing had happened.

Agnes followed, holding his arm. "Are you going back to the office?"

"No, I have a meeting to discuss a collaboration at Sunflower Lane. I'll drop you off at school on the way," Leopold replied.

"Okay."

In the evening, before heading home, Agnes swung by Marissa's place to drop off some lipsticks that Leopold had given her.

"Agnes, these lipsticks are pretty pricey, and you gave me so many. How did you afford them?" Marissa asked, knowing that Agnes's living expenses used to come from Leopold, but not the exact amount.

Agnes hugged Marissa's arm and whispered, "Aunt Marissa, Leopold bought these for me. I can't use them all, so I'm giving you a few."

"I remember you talking about wanting a divorce before. Why are you accepting his gifts now?" Marissa asked.

After a moment of hesitation, Agnes confessed, "I don't want a divorce anymore, we're good now."

Marissa pulled Agnes aside and gave her a once-over. At first glance, she noticed something different about her. Upon closer inspection, she realized what had changed.

"He treats you very well," Marissa said with certainty.

Agnes used to look a bit rough around the edges due to her martial arts training.

Now, her face was glowing with happiness, her skin was radiant even without makeup, and her clothes were expensive. Upon closer inspection, the brands were ones that even Marissa, with her modest wealth, couldn't afford.

"Aunt Marissa, you're amazing. You can tell all that." Agnes blushed and leaned closer to Marissa, trying to avoid further scrutiny.

Hearing her definite response, Marissa felt relieved. "Agnes, as long as you're truly happy, that's all that matters to me." Agnes had a tough life, losing her mother at a young age. Now, she finally met someone who treated her well. That was wonderful!

"Aunt Marissa, don't worry! I'm doing great!" Agnes said sincerely. Despite the occasional argument with Leopold, he always found a way to make her happy.

"So, what does he do? How old is he? When will you bring him home for dinner?" Marissa asked.

"He's the CEO of a company, twenty-eight years old. I'll bring him to meet you when I get the chance," Agnes replied.

"A twenty-eight-year-old CEO?" Marissa was astonished. Grace's father, Jeffrey, only really took over the company in his forties. This young man was quite an achiever!

In Lumina City, there were no more than five people who became CEOs at twenty-eight. Marissa decided to ask Jeffrey about it tonight.

After seeing Agnes off, Marissa immediately called Jeffrey, "Where are you?"

"I'm at the door, open up!" Jeffrey replied.

Marissa pulled Jeffrey into the living room. Jeffrey, tired from a long day and being rushed, felt a bit impatient. "What's going on? Why all the secrecy?"

"In Lumina City, how many people become CEOs at twenty-eight?" Marissa asked.

Jeffrey sat on the sofa, rubbed his head, and glanced at her. "Why are you asking?"

"I told you Agnes got married, remember?" Marissa said.

"Yeah, I remember."

"Agnes came by tonight and brought me some lipsticks worth hundreds of dollars each and a high-end pipe. She said it was her husband's money and that her husband is a CEO, only twenty-eight years old!" Marissa added.

Mentioning Leopold piqued Jeffrey's interest. "Could it be Leopold? The news this morning said he was seen carrying a college student out of a hotel."

Could that college student be Agnes?

Leopold! Marissa had certainly heard of him, but she found it unbelievable. "No way, don't scare me. How could he be connected to Agnes? Maybe it's Michael. I remember Agnes mentioning a boy with the last name Wright years ago."

Leopold was someone the couple couldn't even dream of associating with.

He was one of the most influential figures in Lumina City, with astonishing wealth and immense power! Someone like Leopold getting married would never go unnoticed, and it was even more unlikely that he would marry someone as ordinary as Agnes!

Even though Agnes had been a wealthy young lady for over a decade when Henry was still around, compared to the Neville family's wealth and status, she was still far behind.

Grace often targeted her, and the couple couldn't help but feel a bit guilty towards Agnes. But Leopold's background was too illustrious, and from any perspective, it seemed unlikely that he would choose someone as ordinary as Agnes to spend his life with.

"Michael?" Jeffrey tried to recall the name. "He recently returned from abroad, has a strong family background, and also has some influence in Lumina City. As for the man himself, I don't know him well. How about I ask around for you another day?"

"No need to trouble yourself. Agnes has already promised to bring him over for dinner sometime. We'll know when we meet him," Marissa said.

"Good idea."

When Agnes returned to the villa, Leopold hadn't come home yet. She walked through the living room and noticed it was filled with shopping bags of various sizes, suddenly recalling her shopping spree earlier in the day.

Those bags were filled with cosmetics she had bought today at Sunrise International Shopping Mall! Reflecting on it, she was a bit dazed. Spending so much time with Leopold had made her less frugal, just like tonight.

She had originally gone to buy a pipe for Jeffrey but had inadvertently passed by the cosmetics counter during a promotional event.

Faced with the saleswoman's pitch, she gradually became tempted, and the prices were indeed attractive. In the end, she couldn't resist the temptation.

But before swiping the card, she called Leopold. After all, she was using his money, and a basic skincare set costing over ten thousand dollars seemed like something she should inform him about.

Unexpectedly, Leopold coldly warned, "Agnes, if I ever find out that you're skimping or compromising on quality to save money, I'll personally make sure you have the best cosmetics from the entire Sunrise International Shopping Mall delivered to our home."

Knowing Leopold meant what he said, Agnes quickly completed the payment while he was still on the phone. She even bought the serum and face masks she had hesitated over.

Afterward, she reported, "Leopold, the total is thirty-six thousand five hundred and seven dollars. Satisfied?"

"Sunrise International Shopping Mall is offering a huge discount on skincare products. Spend over two hundred thousand dollars and get an eight-day trip to Azure Haven, all expenses paid. Agnes, are you interested in Azure Haven?" Leopold asked.

Agnes nodded eagerly. "Of course! But Leopold, I can't spend that much!"

"What have you bought so far?" Leopold asked.

Agnes told him honestly, and Leopold suggested, "Buy two more sets of what you bought as backups. That should get you close to a hundred thousand dollars. Then look at lipsticks and other cosmetics, and buy the most expensive ones!"

Agnes was momentarily speechless.

"If you can't spend two hundred thousand dollars today, I'll come over and help you choose," Leopold said. "Or you could go to the VIP room and rest. I'll have the manager send samples over for you to choose from."

Agnes reluctantly agreed, "No need. I can do it myself."

"Good. Don't forget to claim the Azure Haven reward at the front desk after you reach the spending limit. Then, don't rush to leave. Go to the men's section and spend another two hundred thousand dollars for me. That way, we can go to Azure Haven together," Leopold said.

Agnes was afraid Leopold would come in person. If that happened, it wouldn't just be a matter of two sets of two hundred thousand dollars. So she simply agreed, "Alright."

Leopold chuckled. "From now on, Tessa won't have to worry about these things. I'll leave it all to you. Darling, don't let my skincare products run out!"

With the help of the servants, Agnes moved all the dozens of shopping bags of cosmetics into the room.

She carefully placed them one by one on the vanity table, filling the table, drawers, and every available space.

Everyone had a sense of pride in their possessions, and Agnes was no exception. She took a picture of her vanity, captioned it with "I really went all out for the eight-day trip to Azure Haven at Sunrise International Shopping Mall!" and posted it on Facebook.

She had planned to move Leopold's skincare products to his room, but then she thought, Leopold now often stayed in her room overnight. Last night's events had brought them closer, and he probably wouldn't sleep alone anymore.
