Chapter 47

Leopold actually forgot that Agnes was a woman, too. Pretending to be a man was easy, and acting like a lady? For her, it was effortless!

She lightly applied primer and cushion foundation, used light brown eyebrow powder, drew long eyeliner at the corners of her eyes, and added a classic red lip with Armani's iconic 400 lipstick. The carefree Agnes instantly transformed into a sweet princess.

Eden helped weave her usually casually tied long hair into a princess braid. As she spun around, her hair floated dreamily.

Agnes's beauty had already impressed Leopold at the last cruise dinner in her evening gown.

Now, although she wasn't dressed in luxurious clothes, a simple, pink lace dress made her even more charming.

Leopold lowered his eyes, hiding all emotions, and said calmly, "Let's eat."

The thoughts churned in his mind; if not for the inappropriate setting, he would have already pinned Agnes to the dining table, ready to have his way with her.

Despite this, Leopold's earlier reaction had already satisfied Agnes, so she no longer expected compliments and obediently enjoyed her breakfast.

Agnes's eyes sparkled, and she smiled.

She deliberately winked at the men staring at her. Some of them even bumped into each other in their distraction.

"Oh my God! Agnes, are you going on a date today?" Clara exclaimed.

The last time Agnes wore this dress, she neither did her hair nor makeup.

Agnes attended the cruise dinner with Justin, and even though she wore a red dress, she hadn't styled herself meticulously, and she was nowhere near as dazzling as she was today.

Jeremy stared in awe, "Agnes, are you here to attend class? It looks like you're here to captivate all the guys in the economics department!"

On the way from home to the campus, Agnes kept smiling. Now that Leopold was not around, she dropped her forced smile and embraced Clara. "Clara, being a woman is really not easy!"

Clara was puzzled, "I think it's fine." She didn't feel any hardship.

Agnes could only wave her hand helplessly, "Let's go, we have class."

Agnes's appearance today caused quite a stir on campus. Justin was the first to rush over and put his arm around Agnes's shoulder, "Agnes, I want to pursue you! Seriously!"

She rolled her eyes at him, "I didn't dress like this for you to see!"

Justin caught the key point, "Then who is it for? Come on, are you in love?"

"Is Agnes in love?" Bella's surprise was evident.

Even someone like Leopold didn't attract Agnes, so what kind of man could win her over?

"Stop talking nonsense! No, I was just provoked!" Agnes admitted.

Last night, she was indeed deeply provoked by Leopold.

The group wanted to ask more but was interrupted by the professor, so they had to drop it.

Leopold's class was in the afternoon, and Agnes sat quietly in the center of the multimedia classroom, neither skipping class nor blocking the boys.

Leopold found her obedience unbelievable, but whenever his gaze fell on her, Agnes would wink at him.

He found himself becoming strange. Supermodels, divas, and socialites used to wink at him, and he never felt anything, but Agnes's light wink could disturb his mind.

When the class bell rang, Agnes boldly walked to the podium. She patted a girl who was near Leopold, and the girls' excitement faded when they saw it was her.

She gestured for them to move aside, ignoring their dissatisfied but silent looks, and walked straight to Leopold, resting her chin on her hand. She calmly watched him organize his books. "Mr. Neville, I didn’t quite get some parts of the lesson!"

Leopold finished organizing his books, gave her a cold glance, ignored her, and turned to leave.

The sudden coldness embarrassed Agnes. Facing her classmates' snickers and mockery, she straightened her back, suppressed her embarrassment, and pretended to be disdainful, "What's the big deal? I don't care about learning anyway!"

Leopold, walking out of the classroom, heard her words, and a barely noticeable smile appeared on his lips.

As soon as she sat back down, Agnes immediately took out her phone and quickly typed, [Leopold, if you have the guts, don't come home tonight. I don't want to see you!] Then she hit send.

Agnes waited and waited, and even the bell for the next class had rung, she still hadn't received any response from him, and it felt like ants were crawling in her chest.

Meanwhile, a luxurious Emperor car was speeding towards ZL Group. In the back seat, Leopold was repeatedly rubbing the text message on his phone, a meaningful smile in his eyes.

In the front driver's seat, Dennis was checking the schedule and reporting, "Mr. Neville, you need to go to NovaStraits for a few days tomorrow. There are some tricky issues at the factory there that haven't been properly resolved yet."

Night had fallen, and Agnes lay in bed, her ear pressed against the window, trying to catch every slight sound. The clock quietly ticked past midnight, and the familiar sound of car wheels was still absent in the quiet night.

Could Leopold really be angry and not planning to come back?

Her heart was filled with guilt and regret. After all, this was his home, and she had told him not to come back. She was going crazy!

She picked up her phone again and sent another message to Leopold: [Mr. Neville.]

This time, the reply was unexpectedly quick, with just a single word: [What's up?]

Looking at this simple reply, she didn't know how to continue for a moment. After hesitating for a while, she gathered her courage and typed: [Where are you?]

[Branch office.] By then, he had already arrived at the NovaStraits branch, preparing to handle a series of issues.

However, Agnes mistakenly thought he was still in Lumina City and had completely given up on coming home because of her message.

Agnes: [Well, it's not entirely my fault for what happened today. You ignored me first. How about you come back now? I promise I won't appear in front of you.]

In her nervousness, her words seemed a bit incoherent. She wanted to apologize but was too embarrassed to say it directly.

Leopold looked at the message, understanding her inner conflict and hesitation, and couldn't help but chuckle. Why was Agnes so adorable?

However, he couldn't go back immediately, so he simply replied, [You should rest early.]

Agnes covered her head with the blanket, feeling a sense of defeat. Why was Leopold so petty? She had already made the first move, and he still wouldn't come back.

As she drifted off to sleep, she thought, 'Forget it. At least I have apologized.'
