Chapter 129

Leopold stood up, straightened his clothes, and strode towards the door.

Lydia hurried to catch up and hugged him from behind as he was changing his shoes, pressing her face against his back, "Leopold, don't be mad. I just want you to be happy."

Leopold was slightly displeased with her actions, pulled her hands away, and created some distance, "I understand what you mean. Don't overthink it. It's already late."

Lydia noticed his displeasure and sensibly took a step back, obediently agreeing, "As long as Leopold understands, that's good. I'll go rest now and won't see you off!"

Leopold's expression softened a bit, and he nodded before leaving the villa.

In the car

The driver, Kevin, looked at Leopold, who was resting with his eyes closed in the back seat, and cautiously asked, "Mr. Neville, we need to leave Lumina City tomorrow morning for the bidding. What do you think..."

This project was crucial in the company's plans, yet Mr. Neville had decisively set aside this period and rushed back to Lumina City after receiving a call from Agnes.

The atmosphere in the car was silent. Kevin sensed that Leopold was in a bad mood and, despite his curiosity, didn't dare to speak further and sat quietly.

At that moment, Kevin's phone rang. He connected it to Bluetooth, "Hello, what? When did it happen? Okay, got it, thanks!"

After hanging up, he looked at Leopold in the rearview mirror, cleared his throat, and said, "Mr. Neville, Mrs. Neville is in trouble."

Leopold's eyes snapped open, and the anxiety in his gaze almost made Kevin step on the gas and brake simultaneously.

Half an hour later

It was already late at night, and the usually quiet police station was now crowded with young men and women.

Those young masters still had a nonchalant attitude, as if they weren't afraid of anything. The ladies, no longer confrontational, sat like virtuous housewives.

Justin, with a bruised face, sat across from the police officer being questioned, "Why did you fight?"

He raised his chin and pointed to another equally disheveled person, pretending to be innocent, "Ask him. I was beaten for no reason."

The officer saw through his plan, slammed the table, and sternly said, "You don't want to talk, huh? If you don't, you'll spend New Year's Eve in the detention cell!"

Indeed, it was just over half a month until New Year's Eve.

Agnes ignored this, leaning on Bella's shoulder and sleeping, not opening her eyes no matter who called her. When urged, she simply told the staff, "Call Faith too. She started it!"

Who was Faith? The young lady of the Wright Family! With one call to Michael, no one dared to touch her.

Agnes was naturally unwilling but didn't dare to call Leopold, especially since she was still mad at him. To save face, she wouldn't contact Leopold.

But she wasn't worried because she believed Justin would get her out.

Her stubborn attitude gave the staff a headache, so they turned to Bella for answers.

Bella, having been here before, echoed Agnes, insisting that Faith started it.

Eventually, the staff, tired of dealing with them and considering their distinguished identities, instructed, "Call your families to sign and take you home!"

When it was time to leave, Agnes immediately woke up, her eyes bloodshot, glaring at Justin, "Don't call Leroy!"

Justin had indeed thought of calling Leroy, at least to avoid punishment from the elders!

Hearing Agnes, he had to call his mother instead.

Bella waved at Justin, taking the phone, "I'll call my dad. This started because of me."

"No need, it's not a big deal!" Justin snatched the phone back.

As the two fought over the phone, a figure walked in from outside. Agnes saw the figure and immediately turned Justin around.

Bella also recognized Kevin, having seen him multiple times.

Justin, busy thinking about how to explain to his mom, didn't notice Kevin's arrival and loudly asked, "Agnes, what are you doing?"

Agnes wanted to kick him. Justin was really causing her trouble.

Now it was too late. Agnes glanced back and saw Kevin walking towards them.

"Mrs. Neville, I'm here to take you home."

It seemed Kevin already knew what had happened.

Since Kevin knew, Leopold probably knew too!

She turned to face Kevin, trying to control her trembling body, and tentatively asked, "Does Leopold know?"

Kevin smiled and honestly replied, "Yes."

After signing the paperwork, the three of them left the police station smoothly.

As they exited, Justin carried Agnes. Since learning that Leopold knew, her legs had gone weak, making it hard to walk.

Looking at the Emperor across the street, Justin quietly told Agnes, "It seems Leopold is here too."

Agnes's body stiffened, clinging tightly to Justin's neck, "I want to go with you!"

"Please! Let me go!"

"If you don't take me, Justin, we're done!"

"I'd rather end our friendship than provoke Leopold."

Kevin, listening to their whispers, almost laughed out loud.

Kevin opened the back door of the Emperor. Justin turned around, gritting his teeth as he stuffed Agnes inside. Unexpectedly, her hands clung tightly to Justin's neck, almost choking him, with no intention of letting go.

Justin's face turned red, struggling to breathe, "Agnes, Leopold is here. Let go."

Agnes opened her eyes in confusion, looked around the car, and met Leopold's grim gaze. She shivered and quickly let go of Justin.
