Chapter 116

Agnes bit her lower lip subtly, feeling that Teresa seemed to genuinely like Lydia, almost treating her like her own daughter.

"I'm planning to make fried chicken wings, cream of mushroom soup..." Teresa began listing the dishes she planned to make and then asked Agnes, "I heard from Eden that you have a good appetite, so I added a few more dishes. Ten dishes, is that enough?"

Agnes nodded quickly. "More than enough!"

Ten dishes for four people were certainly sufficient!

"That's great," Teresa said with a smile.

Later, Leopold went to his study to handle some business, Teresa went to rest, and Lydia insisted on keeping her company. Meanwhile, Agnes stayed in her room.

After tidying up the dressing table, she received a message from Bella: [Agnes, how did it go meeting Leopold's mom? How is she?]

Agnes replied without hesitation: [She's great! Leopold's mom is super elegant and very kind. I really like her.]

Bella: [Of course, she used to be a noble lady. I also heard she's easy to get along with. Cherish her, Agnes!]

Agnes squinted her eyes with a smile: [I'll!]

Before dinner, Agnes found herself with nothing to do. She originally wanted to help in the kitchen but was gently shooed out by Teresa. With no other option, she decided to go to the study to find Leopold.

Just as she reached the study door, she heard laughter, seemingly from Lydia talking to Leopold. The door was ajar, and she could faintly hear their conversation.

Lydia's laughter subsided, and she spoke in a playful tone, "By the way, Uncle Leopold, you stood me up last time, and I got teased by so many people. I called you a bunch of times, but your phone was off. I was so annoyed!"

Agnes was about to push the door open when she heard Lydia mention this, and a slight smile appeared on her lips. Kelly had told her afterward that someone saw Lydia's face turn red with anger because many people were making fun of her.

Leopold's deep voice came from inside. "Yes, something came up that day. It was about Agnes. Who dared to tease you? Tell me, and I'll set them straight!"

"No need, just make sure it doesn't happen again, Uncle Leopold! I'm not that petty!"

Agnes quietly pushed open the study door, only to see Lydia leaning over Leopold's desk, half-lying in front of him, with her back to the door.

Just as Leopold was about to speak, Agnes spoke first from the doorway, "Leopold, are you done with your work?"

Hearing her voice, Lydia straightened up and looked at Agnes entering the room with a blank expression.

Leopold closed the folder. "Yes, come over."

Agnes walked over, and Lydia had to step aside, standing on the outer side of the desk.

Leopold took Agnes's hand. "Since there's still some time before dinner, bring your French book. I'll help you study for a while."

Agnes immediately made a face. "But it's Saturday. Can't I take a little break?"

Lydia sat down on a chair, looking at Leopold with admiration. "Aunt Agnes, Uncle Leopold's French is excellent. He used to tutor me in French! I was the top of my class!"

Agnes suddenly hugged Leopold's neck and kissed his short hair affectionately. It smelled so good. "Leopold, since you're so good, teach me too."Leopold's lips curved slightly, and he gently patted her arm. "Go get the book. I'll wait here."

"Okay, wait for me!" Agnes ran to get the book, not forgetting to kiss Leopold on the cheek before leaving.

Leopold's smile was both helpless and doting. Until Agnes's figure disappeared outside the study door, his gaze slowly returned. "Lydia, why don't you go to the living room and watch some TV?"

Lydia smiled. "I'd like to listen to your lesson too."

Leopold had no reason to refuse, so when Agnes returned with the book, Lydia was already sitting comfortably on the sofa, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Aunt Agnes, Uncle Leopold said I could join in for the lesson."

A flash of irritation crossed Agnes's mind, but she quickly changed her approach, suppressing her anger and smiling warmly. "That sounds great!"

Leopold sat in the middle, with Lydia on his left and Agnes on his right.

As the lesson began, Agnes casually placed her hand on Leopold's leg, snuggling close. As the lesson progressed, Agnes almost leaned entirely into his arms.

She occasionally kissed him and secretly made intimate gestures with him when Lydia wasn't looking. After a while, the usually composed Leopold was visibly flustered. After finishing the last question, he instructed Lydia, "Lydia, could you please check on the dinner preparations?"

Lydia heard the hint in Leopold's words and, not wanting to witness their affection any longer, left the study without a word.

As the door closed, Agnes hadn't had time to feel triumphant before Leopold pressed her onto the sofa. "Trying to seduce me?"

Before she could argue, his lips sealed hers.

Agnes, who had been smiling moments ago, was now deeply kissed by Leopold on the sofa.

About twenty or thirty minutes later, the study door was knocked on, and a servant came to inform them that dinner was ready. Leaning against the window, Agnes quickly stopped Leopold's actions behind her. "It's time to eat."

"Okay," He responded briefly.

"If we don't go down, Mom will get suspicious," Agnes said.

"Okay."

In the end, it took Agnes's pleading and coquettishness for Leopold to let her go. He kissed her long hair, his voice hoarse. "We'll continue tonight."

She sternly refused, "Leopold, this isn't right!"

Leopold straightened his clothes but answered irrelevantly, "Agnes, have you been running lately?"

Although puzzled, she nodded honestly. "I like night running. As long as I'm free, I run every night."

Leopold scrutinized Agnes, who was tidying herself, and said doubtfully, "Your stamina is still a bit weak. You need to keep training!"

Agnes felt extremely wronged! Clearly, it was his energy that was too abundant!

When they reached the staircase, the servants downstairs were serving the dishes.

As Agnes stepped down, she almost stumbled if not for Leopold holding her waist, preventing her from falling.

She was quite displeased with Leopold's action and glared at his still-smiling face. "Is it funny?"

"Yes." Leopold did not deny it.

Agnes gritted her teeth and whispered in his ear, "You're sleeping in the study tonight!"

"Do you want to worry Mom?" Leopold asked.

"Forget I said anything."

Leopold, satisfied, half-embraced her as they went downstairs, just in time for the last dish to be served. Lydia and Teresa came out of the kitchen together, seeing the two heading to wash their hands. Teresa asked, "Agnes, did you understand Leopold's French lesson?"

Thinking of what happened in the study, Agnes blushed. "Yes. He teaches French very well."

"I guess so. Leopold passed the professional French exam." Teresa's words were full of pride when talking about Leopold's achievements.

Professional French exam? Agnes looked at the expressionless Leopold beside her in surprise. As if the conversation wasn't about him, Leopold continued to lead her to the bathroom without any reaction.

Lydia chimed in, "Not just French, Uncle Leopold passed the exams for Solstice, Thalassia, and other languages! He's also close to passing Vesperia."

"You're amazing!" Agnes couldn't help but exclaim.
