Chapter 104
Today was day five of Agnes's period.
Agnes met Leopold's eyes, blushing as she stood up. "It's almost over."
Leopold had been asking about it non-stop for days.
Leopold covered his face, clearly frustrated. "Agnes, you've been saying 'almost' for days now."
Seeing his conflicted expression, Agnes smirked, a mischievous idea popping into her head.
Back in her room, Agnes texted Kelly: [Kelly, can you do me a favor?]
The next morning, Leopold had a class. After finishing her dance practice, Agnes rushed to school. When she got there, she saw Leopold's car pulling onto campus. It paused briefly, meaning Leopold had spotted her too.
With a bunch of classmates around, Agnes saw Kevin getting out of the car and immediately bolted.
Kevin sighed and got back in the car, reporting everything to Leopold in the back seat. Leopold didn't seem surprised. He knew the drill; whenever there was a crowd, she always tried to keep her distance.
Agnes wasn't ready to go public with their relationship yet.
After two months abroad, Leopold was back in the classroom, which was packed as usual. Agnes sat in the back row, her eyes glued to Leopold as he taught.
People often said Leopold was cold, but that wasn't true. He could be angry, happy, gentle, and sad, just like anyone else, with a rich and varied emotional life.
But this side of him was hidden from most people.
At nearly thirty, he was already unflappable, with a commanding presence that easily outshone most of his elders.
Leopold's level of mastery wasn't something he achieved overnight; he was exceptionally talented and outstanding, a legend in his own right.
"Agnes, please repeat what I just explained," Leopold's indifferent voice suddenly called out. Agnes stood up reflexively, glancing at Jeremy next to her.
Jeremy whispered, "He was talking about regular investments and risk assessment."
Agnes smiled slyly and cleared her throat. "It's about regular investments and risk assessment, and how to..." Before she could finish, Leopold had already stepped down from the podium.
Wherever he went, he caused a stir. Some female students even secretly took photos of his back or selfies with him.
Leopold stopped beside Agnes, and Jeremy immediately fell silent, pretending to be engrossed in his book.
With Jeremy silent, she couldn't continue. "I didn't understand the rest," she admitted.
Leopold tapped her desk. "Come to the front and listen carefully!"
Why had Leopold turned so heartless? This cold demeanor was a far cry from the man who held her tightly in bed at night!
Agnes made a face at his back but obediently followed him.
Standing not far from Leopold, she rolled her eyes and, taking advantage of a discussion break, whispered, "Mr. Neville, can I treat you to dinner after class?"
Leopold paused in flipping through his book, casting a warning glance at her pretty face.
Agnes pretended not to notice and continued, "Mr. Neville, my period is over!"
Leopold suddenly moved in front of her, intrigued. "Really!"
The students below started whispering, "What are they talking about? They look so happy."
"Leopold is my idol. I want to talk to him too!"
"Agnes is so shameless, always trying to get Mr. Neville's attention."
After class, Agnes followed Leopold. "Leopold, are you going to the office?"
"Yes, want to come?" Leopold stopped and asked.
"No, no, you go ahead. What time will you be done?" Agnes replied.
Today's Agnes was acting unusually strange, and Leopold's eyes deepened with curiosity. "I have a banquet at six, but I'll be home early tonight."
"Okay, see you later." Agnes then ran off.
At three in the afternoon, Justin threw his phone in front of Agnes. "Leopold is going to the banquet with Lydia!"
On Justin's phone, Lydia had just sent a message in a group, and it immediately caused an uproar: [I'm heading to get my hair done and will be going with Leopold at six.]
So what if she was going with Leopold? Why was Lydia being so high-profile?
Agnes took the phone and directly messaged Lydia: [I remember Mr. Neville has plans tonight?]
Before Justin could stop her, the message was sent.
Instantly, more people messaged Justin.
[Mr. Justin Smith, did Mr. Leroy Smith tell you?]
[Mr. Justin Smith, how do you know? Are you close with Mr. Neville?]
[Can I be your dance partner?]
Justin glared at Agnes. "Give me my phone back."
Agnes held onto the phone. "Wait."
Lydia quickly replied to Justin: [I just called Leopold; he has no plans tonight and agreed to accompany me.]
Agnes gritted her teeth and returned the phone. "I have to go."
Ignoring the puzzled looks, she left the campus.
At six o'clock in the evening, Agnes sent a message to Leopold: [Leopold, I'm in room 1208 at Moonlit Dunes Resort, waiting for you! Right now!]
Leopold, walking towards the company parking garage, saw the message, his eyes darkening. Before he could respond, another message came: [If you want to sleep with me, tonight is your only chance.]
