Chapter 177
Bella looked shocked and quickly explained, "Don't misunderstand, he's just a friend of mine."
Kevin waved with a smile. "I'll go ahead, you should go up!"
"Don't be in such a hurry to leave!" The middle-aged woman, Jody Bishop, called out to Kevin who was about to leave.
Kevin turned back in confusion, only to see Jody curiously asking, "When did you and my daughter get together? How old are you? Come in and have a cup of tea, her father is here too!"
Kevin then realized that Jody was Bella's mother and immediately felt the situation was not good. Just now, he had been posing as Bella's boyfriend, and now there was a misunderstanding.
He quickly adjusted his expression, showing his usual professional demeanor. "So you're Bella's mother, sorry, I was just joking earlier, I'm just her friend."
Jody liked Kevin's serious look more and more. "It's okay, even if you're just a friend, you can come in for a cup of tea, come on!" Without waiting for him to refuse, she pulled him into the elevator.
Bella wanted to stop them but had to put her hand down helplessly.
As the elevator doors slowly closed, Kevin felt extremely conflicted, wondering why he couldn't control his mouth. He had to thank Leopold for his tolerance.
In his work, he was always very cautious, but he occasionally joked in private. However, it always brought him trouble.
Meanwhile, in Beacon City, Agnes was in Leopold's arms. "What happened? Why is Bella involved?"
Leopold answered vaguely, "It's nothing."
However, she didn't believe his excuse at all.
"Alright, I should get up now, or I'll sleep until it's dark." She had missed breakfast and even lunch, and feared the elders of the Neville Family would have an even worse opinion of her.
It was all Leopold's fault, not only did he have sex with her all night, but he also turned off the alarm.
"Sleeping for another day wouldn't hurt," Leopold said nonchalantly.
"Don't say that, if I really dared to be so willful, you grandma and dad would probably send someone to kick me out!"
Leopold was pushed away by her, leaning on the bed and watching her get dressed. "They wouldn't do that."
Agnes casually replied, "Mr. Neville, you are impressive!"
"Go wash up and we'll go out for a walk."
Hearing that they could go out, Agnes immediately perked up.
At lunchtime, because Leopold was present, no one in the Neville Family dared to say anything to Agnes.
After the two left, Tiffany quietly told Gerald, "Control your temper, don't argue with Leopold, he'll start working at the company tomorrow, and there will be plenty of opportunities in the future."
Gerald snorted coldly, "I also need work, staying idle at home isn't an option!"
The living room was unusually quiet, with only the sound of the TV, and Tiffany silently cursed Billy, 'Billy, even if you're lying in the hospital now, I still have to blame you. You spent your life thinking about that woman, and in the end, you harmed my granddaughter.'
Outside, Agnes started to feel sleepy after a short walk, as it was already two or three in the morning back home. She fell asleep as soon as she returned to the room.
Leopold had to go to the study to work alone.
The next day, Leopold went to the company, and Agnes thought it was better not to go out since Leopold wasn't home.
In her room, Agnes finally found out what was happening online after browsing her phone for a while. She called Bella, and they started chatting, "I haven't adjusted to the time difference yet, are you asleep?"
"No, it's so early, I'm still out!" Agnes guessed Bella might be at a bar. It was noisy on the other end, but it soon quieted down, probably because Bella found a quiet place to take the call.
Agnes added, "I saw your comment, I was really touched, you are always looking out for me!"
"Of course! We are the best friends! Seriously, even though Kevin deleted my comment, I still have to remind you: be careful of that Lydia."
Agnes naturally understood the need to be cautious of Lydia, but she reassured, "Don't worry, Leopold is always busy wherever he is, he doesn't care about these things, as long as I'm not hurt, it's fine." Lydia had cried, but Leopold just had someone delete the comment.
With Bella protecting her so much, how could Agnes bear to hurt her?
Bella hid in an empty room, turned on the light, closed the door, and complained with a hint of dissatisfaction, "Oh, I feel like your call is just to show off your love! I mean, Agnes, don't you two show off enough usually? Can you give me a break?"
Agnes couldn't help but laugh. "Then you'll have to bear with it! When you find a boyfriend, you can show off to me every day, how about that?"
"I can accept that, to be as happy as you, I need to find a boyfriend quickly!"
"Alright, I'm waiting to hear your good news!"
Bella quickly surrendered. "Okay, I give up. How are you adapting to Beacon City?"
"Not really, the Nevilles don't seem to like me much, especially Leopold's grandmom and dad, they're cold to me. I just arrived and met them for the first time, I really don't understand why they dislike me so much!" Agnes said, feeling a bit depressed as she rolled on the bed.
"Really? I thought Mrs. Neville should like you."
"Yeah, she's nice, but she doesn't talk much in this family, and she seems afraid of Leopold's dad. The situation at home is a bit complicated."
"Aright. Let me tell you something, yesterday Kevin bought me a purse."
Agnes asked in confusion, "Kevin bought you a bag?" She really couldn't understand how the two of them got involved.
Then, Bella recounted everything that happened yesterday, adding at the end, "You should never expect my parents' attitude towards Kevin, they were so satisfied, I was about to collapse!"
Hearing her words, Agnes excitedly sat up from the bed, "You know, Kevin is indeed much better than that bad guy Elliot. I heard he earns over a million dollars a year, and he's also looking for a partner, why don't you give it a try?"
