Chapter 76

Agnes looked at him, puzzled. "Why lemonade?"

He gave her a casual glance. "It's for you."

"You want me to drink lemonade at this place?" Agnes glanced around at the guests, all holding various alcoholic drinks, feeling a bit out of place.

"Yep, I don't want you drinking alcohol," he replied.

Agnes took the lemonade he handed her, still a bit confused, and followed Leopold to the food area. After tasting a piece of cake, she asked, "Is there something special happening tonight?"

"Yeah, Clifford got her favorite star to come." Leopold leaned lazily against the table behind him.

Agnes's curiosity was piqued. "Who is she, anyway? How can she captivate the four richest guys in Lumina City?"

"Lydia," he said.

"I know her name, I mean..." Agnes started, but Leroy cut her off. He walked over with two tall beauties on his arms. "Leopold, Lydia was looking for you just now!"

"Alright, I'll go check. You can hang out here." Leopold told Agnes before heading off.

Not long after, Agnes saw Lydia, arm in arm with Leopold, chatting and laughing as they disappeared into a room and didn't come out for a while.

Just as Agnes was debating whether to go look for Leopold, Kelly appeared beside her, shaking a glass of champagne. "Agnes, let's go dance!"

Night had fallen, and the island was alive with thumping music and a packed dance floor.

Agnes glanced towards the room Leopold had gone into but eventually nodded and followed Kelly to the dance floor.

Usually gentle and graceful, Kelly turned into a dance floor queen under the booming DJ music, her waist swaying seductively to the beat.

Agnes got caught up in the vibe too, though she only bounced lightly. It wasn't that she couldn't dance; she just wasn't in the mood.

She wondered if she was overthinking.

Suddenly, Kelly stopped dancing and whispered in Agnes's ear, "At first, I thought I was overthinking too, but Agnes, keep an eye on Lydia."

With that, Kelly flashed a bright smile and walked towards Ethan, who was waiting nearby, leaving Agnes no time to respond.

Agnes stood still on the dance floor, watching Kelly walk away, feeling more confused than ever.

What did Kelly mean by that?

Ethan looked at Agnes on the dance floor and said to Kelly with a sigh, "You're getting naughty again. Having fun?"

Kelly clung to his arm affectionately. "We were just getting started when you pulled me away. Agnes will be upset!"

"Then why don't you go back and dance with her?" Ethan chuckled, knowing Kelly's mischievous side all too well. She seemed gentle but had a playful streak.

"No, I need to keep an eye on you in case Lydia tries to seduce you." Kelly's words were loaded with meaning, but Ethan didn't dig into it, just kissed her forehead lightly.

Then, Kelly asked casually, "I just saw Lydia and Leopold go into a room. What are they up to?"

Ethan flicked her forehead, making Kelly yelp. "Ethan, what are you doing!"

"Why are you so interested in Leopold? He was just helping Lydia authenticate a painting a friend gave her. Lydia wasn't sure if it was real," he explained.

"Leopold knows about antiques?" Kelly asked.

"Leopold knows a lot of things," he said.

Kelly pouted secretly and said no more. Shortly after, she let go of Ethan's hand. "Aren't you worried about Agnes being alone on the dance floor?"

"Nope," Ethan said bluntly.

Everyone knew Agnes was with Leopold that night, so no one dared to bother her. Plus, it was a private event with no outsiders, and Agnes knew martial arts, so she could enjoy the night without worry.

Since Ethan said it was fine, Kelly stayed by his side.

Halfway through the party, two beauties invited Agnes to go out to sea. She wanted to tell Leopold but couldn't find him, so she agreed.

Luckily, before leaving, Agnes ran into Kelly and invited her along, so Ethan was also informed.

Ethan told the boatman, "It's late. Don't go too far. Just circle around the area."

"Got it, Mr. Perez," the boatman replied.

The boat's atmosphere was lively. Although Agnes was a bit reserved around strangers, her outgoing personality soon helped her blend in.

There happened to be a guitar on the boat, and Agnes picked it up and played a popular song for everyone, adding to the fun.

When she finished, applause and praise erupted.

"Agnes, if you become a pop star, I'll be in the front row at your concert!"

"Why did you choose the School of Economics and Management? The music academy should be your stage! A brilliant star almost got buried."

Agnes knew their compliments were all thanks to Leopold. Their flattery was just a way to get closer to him.

The boat returned to shore near midnight, the party ended, and Agnes finally found Leopold.

And beside him, still smiling brightly, was Lydia. Leopold and Lydia stood side by side, seeing off the guests. To those unaware, they might have mistaken them for a couple.

Jealousy surged again, and Agnes couldn't help but walk towards Leopold, gently taking his arm. "I'm tired, I want to go home."

Leopold glanced at his watch; it was already midnight, indeed, time to leave.

Before Leopold could speak, Lydia, smiling brightly, said first, "Mr. Neville, I didn't drive today. I was planning to stay, but since everyone is leaving, can I catch a ride with you?"

Faced with such a small request, Leopold naturally wouldn't refuse.

Seeing Leopold agree, Agnes felt worried, forced a smile, and took out her phone to play with, waiting for them to finish seeing off the guests.

When the guests were gone, it was nearly 1 AM, and they boarded the boat to return.

After some twists and turns, Agnes finally set foot on land and saw Leopold's luxury car. Naturally, she walked towards the front passenger seat.

Unexpectedly, Lydia suddenly jumped out, quickly opened the front passenger door, and smiled at Agnes. "Mrs. Neville, come on in; it's late."

'Of course, I know it's late, but why did you have to take my front seat?'

While Agnes was troubled, Leopold gentlemanly held the car roof for Lydia, who got in, and then closed the door.

Then, he opened the back door for Agnes, extending his hand in invitation.

Agnes's fatigue vanished. So, Lydia was more important to him than she was?

Agnes almost shouted, "I'm not going!"

But Agnes looked around; there was only Leopold's car.

Ignoring Leopold's invitation, Agnes opened the other side of the back door and got in with a sullen face.

Leopold finally noticed something was wrong with Agnes. He walked around to her side, leaned into the car, and asked, "What's wrong with you?"
