Chapter 183

Leopold loosened his tie, sat on the edge of the bed, and gently pinched Agnes's cheek. "Did you need something when you called earlier? I was in a meeting and couldn't answer. When I called back, Lydia picked up."

Agnes lazily hugged his hand and squinted her eyes. "What did she say to you?"

Leopold succinctly repeated Lydia's words. "She said you left your phone in the living room and were resting upstairs. She said it wasn't anything urgent."

Agnes sighed, not wanting to get into it with them, and decided not to tell the truth. "Nothing, I just missed you. You've been so busy with work, and I worry about you."

Leopold's lips curved into a slight smile, and he kissed her forehead. "I'm fine, I'm used to it. Tomorrow I'll arrange for someone to accompany you out so you don't get lost."

Agnes thought it was a good idea and quickly nodded.

The next day, as Agnes was about to leave with Leopold, Tiffany called out to her. "Agnes, you have good eyesight, help me with something."

Agnes glanced at Leopold, who didn't disappoint her. "Grandma, let Lydia help you. Agnes is going out."

Agnes quickly nodded, silently giving Leopold a thumbs up in her mind.

Tiffany sighed. "Lydia has been getting up early every day to take care of me, but she's not feeling well today, so I told her to rest in her room." She then looked at Agnes with a distant expression and asked Leopold, "What? I can't even ask Agnes for help?"

Agnes waved her hand helplessly. "You go ahead, come back early tonight. I'll help Grandma find something and then go out."

Leopold smiled faintly and kissed her forehead. "Okay, the driver is waiting outside. Call me if anything happens. I'll have my phone with me today."

"Okay, bye."

After Leopold left, Agnes was "assigned" to the storage room by Tiffany.

Tiffany stood at the storage room door, one hand on her cane and the other playing with an ornament. "Go find my gemstone bracelet and clean up the place while you're at it."

Agnes groaned inwardly, knowing Tiffany wouldn't let her off so easily.

Tiffany was using the excuse of finding something to make her clean the room, which had become her nightmare.

"Grandma, didn't you lose your gemstone bracelet?" Agnes asked.

Tiffany replied, "Yes, that's why I'm asking you to find it. I dreamed last night that it was in the storage room. Go look for it!"

Agnes had nothing to say and could only silently endure. For her beloved Leopold, she had to bear it a little longer.

The storage room was packed with stuff and covered in dust. Agnes cleaned for a long time, getting herself covered in dust, but didn't find the bracelet.

Dragging her tired body to the living room, she saw Lydia and Tiffany chatting while eating fruit. When Lydia saw Agnes, she immediately said, "Hey you, get me a glass of water. I need to take my medicine."

Agnes suppressed her anger and coldly glared at her. "Get it yourself!"

Lydia was taken aback, seemingly surprised. "Agnes? You're so dirty, I almost didn't recognize you!"

Seeing Lydia was so fake, Agnes felt a wave of nausea. "Don't recognize me? Try cleaning the storage room for two hours. I guarantee you won't recognize yourself either!"

Lydia feigned sympathy. "Oh, so you are cleaning. How hardworking! Sit down and rest, Agnes, you're so diligent!"

She then looked at Tiffany and softly said, "Grandma, Agnes is so hardworking. She cleaned the living room and bathroom yesterday and now the storage room today. But I can't do anything right. Grandma, do you think I'm useless?"

Tiffany gently held her hand, full of affection. "Of course not! I like you so much. How could I bear to make you do these things!"

Hearing this, Agnes threw the rag into the trash can. "Grandma, if the house needs cleaning, even if there are no maids, don't worry. I'll ask Leopold to hire more. Even during the holidays, there will be people eager to help if we pay enough."

Tiffany's face darkened, and she looked at her seriously. "What? I can't even get you to do some chores. Are you going to complain to Leopold? Are you flaunting his status in front of me? Hasn't anyone taught you to respect your elders?"

Lydia gently shook Tiffany's arm and quietly reminded her, "Grandma, I heard Agnes's father passed away a few years ago, and her mother has been gone for a long time."

Agnes's parents were a permanent pain in her heart, so Lydia's words made her face instantly lose its calm expression.

Tiffany coldly mocked, "No wonder she's so unruly!"

Agnes's eyes turned sharp, and she strode towards them. Tiffany, despite her experience, felt a bit fearful but still asked, "What do you want to do?"

"What can I do? Fortunately, you're an elder, so I must show you respect. But as for Lydia, a junior..." Agnes grabbed Lydia by the collar and lifted her from her seat. "As your elder, I should teach you how to behave!"

Lydia's white collar immediately got black fingerprints, and she couldn't help but scream, "Disgusting, let go of me!"

"Disgusting?" Agnes mocked. "You come from an ordinary background and have no reason to be so arrogant. Just because Leopold treats you well, do you think you're superior? You're just a piece of trash to me. Watch your behavior, don't think I'll tolerate you indefinitely!"

With that, she let go and pushed Lydia, who fell back onto the sofa in a mess.

Tiffany, breathing heavily in anger, rushed to help Lydia instead of scolding Agnes. "Lydia, are you hurt?"

Lydia trembled in Tiffany's arms.

Agnes coldly watched and said to Tiffany, "Grandma, I don't owe the Neville Family anything. The only reason I still respect you is because you're Leopold's grandma. I love him and don't want him to be caught between us."
