Chapter 159
Agnes got into the car, trying hard to suppress her laughter. Elliot, instead of being angry, leisurely said, "My whole family? Leopold is also part of my family. Are you insulting Leopold?"
At the mention of Leopold, Faith immediately shut her mouth and glared viciously at Agnes, "Just you wait!"
Agnes smiled slightly, "Don't forget to tell Michael that it was me who slapped your face and cut your hair!"
Faith was speechless, "Agnes... you!"
The car sped away like an arrow, and Faith clenched her fists, gritting her teeth as she watched the car disappear.
Inside the ZL Group building
Elliot took Agnes directly to the floor where the CEO's office was located. Although no one knew Agnes, Elliot was quite familiar with everyone.
The elevator stopped on the 66th floor. Elliot looked at the closed wooden office door and nudged Agnes, "We agreed, you go in first."
Agnes sighed helplessly, thinking how even Elliot was afraid of Leopold. Was she the only one who didn't find Leopold that scary?
Walking to the secretary's area, Kevin and Tessa were busy. Tessa stood up to greet them, "Mr. Neville, good evening." She was obviously surprised to see Agnes.
Elliot whistled at Tessa and winked at her flirtatiously, "Tessa, you're still so beautiful! I like it!"
Tessa blushed and softly called out, "Mr. Neville," then sat down to continue her work.
Kevin walked over and respectfully informed Elliot, "Mr. Elliot Neville, Mr. Leopold Neville said you can go in directly."
Then he quietly asked Agnes, "Mrs. Neville, why did you come with him?" If it weren't for Elliot being present, Kevin would have directly warned Agnes to stay away from the unreliable Elliot.
Agnes helplessly waved her hand, "He dragged me here."
Elliot noticed that Agnes hadn't followed and looked back to see her chatting with Kevin, "Agnes, what are you doing? Hurry up and open the door!"
Kevin knocked on the office door, and after receiving a response, he opened it, "Mr. Elliot Neville, please come in."
Elliot pushed Agnes from behind, causing her to almost fall.
Leopold immediately got up from his chair and went to embrace Agnes, "Why aren't you home yet? Are you hurt? What happened to your face?"
Seeing her swollen face, Leopold's tone instantly turned cold.
"It's nothing, I just came to see you and wait for you to get off work." Facing Elliot, Agnes proudly hugged Leopold, provocatively looking at Elliot.
Leopold pulled her out of his embrace, his face darkening, "Who hit you?" Then his sharp gaze landed on Elliot, who also had injuries on his face.
Before Elliot could react, Leopold kicked him, "Ouch!" Elliot was knocked to the ground.
Leopold mercilessly stepped on his chest, "Was it you who hit her?"
Elliot's face turned pale with fear, "Leopold, it wasn't me! It was that bitch Faith!"
Seeing Leopold so fierce for the first time, Agnes was also startled, realizing that he had indeed been very tolerant of her before.
Seeing Elliot trembling, Agnes quickly pulled Leopold away, "It really wasn't him, it was my fault! He was the one who got hit!"
Leopold finally let go of Elliot, calmly putting down the kettle, and warned him, "If you touch her again, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
Elliot asked bravely, "Why?"
Leopold replied indifferently, "Because she is my wife!"
Agnes was actually Leopold's wife, his elder! Elliot could hardly believe it.
Ignoring the still groaning Elliot on the ground, Leopold pressed the intercom, "Bring some ice."
After arranging that, he pulled Agnes to sit on the sofa, gently stroking her cheek, "Faith did this, right?"
Though his tone was gentle, Agnes saw a flash of murderous intent in his eyes.
Recalling the rumors about Leopold's ruthless methods, she quickly grabbed his hand, "It's really not a big deal. I've already retaliated and cut off Faith's most cherished long hair. Just let it go, okay?"
Faith dared to touch Agnes, how could he let it go? "Leave it to me to handle."
Agnes felt that Leopold seemed ready to kill, "No need, our conflict is settled now. There's no deep hatred, Leopold, please don't get involved, okay?"
Kevin brought the ice. Seeing Elliot lying on the ground, he didn't react much, but when he saw Agnes's face, he became anxious, "Mrs. Neville, what happened to your face? Who hit you? It must hurt a lot, right?"
Who had the guts to lay a hand on Agnes! Look at her carefully nurtured, tender face, now swollen like this, it was heartbreaking.
Agnes was touched by his concern, "It's nothing! It doesn't hurt anymore, thank you, Kevin."
"Kevin!" A sinister voice suddenly sounded.
Kevin looked at Leopold with concern, helplessly responding, "Yes, Mr. Neville."
"Heartache?" Leopold asked coldly.
Kevin nodded honestly, "Yes, after all, it was Mrs. Neville who got hit."
Agnes sensed something was wrong with Leopold and quickly signaled Kevin with her eyes.
But Kevin didn't catch on at all and continued to ask with concern, "Mrs. Neville, is your face uncomfortable? Should we get a doctor to take a look?"
