Chapter 138

Grace arrived at Agnes's place and saw two men who looked like bodyguards busy packing up Agnes's belongings. As she watched their actions closely, she realized they were packing Agnes's luggage.

Bodyguards packing for Agnes? Even though Grace was not usually very perceptive, she suddenly realized she had underestimated the complexity of the situation.

The bodyguards ignored her and continued their work. One of them gently turned over the bedding to ensure nothing was left behind, and a white blanket fell into Grace's view.

After finishing their inspection, the bodyguards neatly made the bed again. Grace suddenly rushed into the room and lifted the sheets and bedding. It turned out to be an electric blanket. She looked back in surprise at the electric heater in the corner and several other modern items rarely seen in the village.

Why did Agnes have these things when no one else did?

The mysteries surrounding Agnes seemed to be piling up. Grace remembered that when she first arrived, Agnes had invited her to stay together, but she had refused.

When Grace, panting heavily, found Agnes, she was saying goodbye to some elderly people.

Grace, disregarding everything, pulled Agnes aside and questioned, "Why is your room so well-equipped? Why do I need your permission to leave? Are you involved with Kevin or Mr. Neville?"

Looking closely at Agnes today, if she had been dazzling at the party because of her makeup, her bare face now showed her skin was indeed excellent.

Even after enduring a few days in Willow Creek, Agnes's transformation was still evident. She had really changed. Although Grace was reluctant to admit it, the fact was that Agnes had become more refined and attractive.

Agnes's refinement was clearly a product of money!

Who could have invested so much in Agnes? Was it one of Leopold's subordinates or Leopold himself?

Thinking about Agnes's unusual relationship with Leopold, Grace trembled all over. If Agnes was really Leopold's woman, wouldn't she never have a chance to turn things around?

Facing Grace's questioning, Agnes retorted, "Who said you need my permission to leave?" Why would she need her permission?

Grace bit her lip and, after a moment, said angrily, "Kevin said so! I don't want to take that old bus anymore. I came to Willow Creek because of you. If you hadn't insisted on coming, my dad wouldn't have forced me to come. Now that you're leaving, you must take me with you. Otherwise, Agnes, I'll tell my parents about your complicated relationships with those men!"

Grace knew Agnes was very filial, and some realities were hard for her to accept, like how Agnes was better at pleasing their parents.

Agnes took a deep breath, "Grace, I can let you go, but you must promise not to bother me again, especially not with that last statement! Listen, there's only one man related to me, not multiple!"

"Who is he?"

"You'll know one day, but not now! Do you agree?"

Telling Grace about her relationship with Leopold was tantamount to making it public.

Grace had no choice but to agree to Agnes's request.

After they parted, Agnes returned to the place where she had been playing games with the children to say goodbye. Many children cried when they learned they were leaving, and Agnes, too, was moved to tears, reluctantly waving goodbye to them.

Leaving the school, Agnes had not yet recovered from the sadness of parting when Justin pulled her back to the village.

"Hey, where are we going?" Agnes was confused. First Grace, now Justin. What was wrong with these people?

"To my place."

"Why?"

"To pack."

Agnes wanted to kick him, "Why do you need me to pack? Do you want free labor?"

"Of course not!"

Fortunately, the village was small, and they reached Justin and Jeremy's place in two or three minutes. He pulled Agnes inside and locked the door.

Justin dragged out a suitcase and hurriedly stuffed things into it, still wary of Agnes, "You can't leave first, or I won't be able to go anywhere."

He firmly believed that without Agnes, Leopold would never let him get in the car.

Agnes had guessed his intention, "Justin, you came with me. From what you know about me, would I leave you and Jeremy behind?"

Justin answered firmly, "No!" But then added, "Leopold would!"

Finally, under Justin's half-pulling, half-pushing, Agnes arrived at the luxury car. Kevin was already waiting by the car. Seeing them, a bodyguard took Justin's luggage and led him to the car behind, "Mr. Smith, this way, please."

Justin clung to Agnes like a child lacking a sense of security, crying out, "Where are you taking me? I don't want to go anywhere, I just want to go home!" He had had enough of this place.

Kevin stifled a laugh, "Mr. Smith, don't worry, the car behind is prepared for you."

With the explanation, Justin relaxed, "That's more like it. Agnes, I'll go first."

Agnes looked at the luxury car in front of her and took a deep breath. Kevin opened the door, and the imposing Leopold sat inside, his gaze never leaving her since he saw her, "Aren't you getting in?"

As soon as Leopold spoke, Agnes's heart raced, and her cheeks flushed. In that moment, she forgot all their past conflicts, leaned halfway into the car, and hugged Leopold's neck, giving him a light kiss on the cheek.

Leopold was speechless.

Agnes then stood outside the car again, smiling, "I'll go find Jeremy and be right back."

Leopold spoke again, his voice slightly hoarse, "Tease me and then want to run?"

Agnes's face turned even redder, and she whispered in defense, "No, I'll be back soon!"

Just as she was about to run away, Kevin timely said, "Mr. Neville, rest assured, all your classmates are already in the car. You can get in with peace of mind!"

Alright! Kevin was really considerate!

Just as Agnes bent down to get in the car, a man in a dark blue local outfit called out to her, "Agnes!"

Agnes turned back, and it was Herman!
