Chapter 80

Leopold shot Agnes a warning look, then turned to Tessa. "Tessa, get the driver to take Lydia home."

"Yes, Mr. Neville," Tessa replied, quickly making the call.

Finally, Lydia left.

Agnes was about to turn away, but Leopold grabbed her arm. "Come in."

"I'm not going in!" she snapped back, her voice firm.

Their colleagues in the secretary area watched, relieved that they weren't the ones in trouble. Leopold's anger was something they definitely didn't want to deal with.

Leopold's grip tightened, his voice colder. "I said, come in!"

Agnes yanked her hand free, standing her ground. "I said I'm not going in!"

But before she could react, Leopold scooped her up and carried her into his office.

"Leopold, put me down! Let go of me!" Agnes's protests were muffled as the door closed behind them.

The secretaries exchanged shocked and confused looks.

Inside the office, Leopold set Agnes down, but she struggled. He pinned her to the sofa, and before she could say anything, he kissed her hard.

Leopold's kiss was intense and overpowering. When he finally pulled back, he was panting. "Agnes, don't challenge my bottom line."

His breath was intoxicating, almost making her lose her resolve. She took a deep breath, looked him in the eye, and said sarcastically, "Bottom line? Your bottom line probably only include Lydia, right?"

Leopold's face darkened, and his grip tightened. "Don't make me repeat myself. Lydia is someone Clifford and I adopted; you don't need to target her."

Target? Agnes felt a surge of anger and tried to kick him away, but he held her down. "I..."

He silenced her with another kiss.

A few minutes later, Agnes gasped for air. If Leopold didn't let go soon, she might be the first woman in history to be kissed to death!

She decided to end the pointless argument. "I have to go to class, let me go!"

Leopold didn't budge. "Are you still throwing a tantrum?"

Agnes rolled her eyes and stopped arguing. After all, they were just a couple in name only. Thinking that made her feel a bit better.

"You're unhappy," he stated.

"No, Mr. Neville, you're overthinking it," she replied.

Leopold finally let her go but didn't let her leave. Instead, he made her sit on his lap, his arm tightly around her waist.

Agnes shook her head helplessly. Leopold was really something else!

Leopold felt they needed to talk. "Why'd you return the lipsticks?"

"Why should I keep them?" Her tone was dripping with sarcasm.

"I bought them for you; you have to keep them!" he insisted.

Agnes laughed in frustration. "Mr. Neville, just because you bought me a gift, I have to accept it? What kind of logic is that? I have the right to refuse, don't I?"

Thinking about Lydia taking those lipsticks made her heart ache!

Especially when Lydia kissed him, and Leopold had no reaction—it was clearly a common occurrence.

Ignoring Agnes's sarcasm, he declared, "From now on, you are not allowed to refuse anything I give you!"

"That's not impossible." Agnes saw an opportunity to negotiate.

Leopold looked at her, puzzled.

Agnes calmed her anger and wrapped her arms around his neck. "But you have to agree to three conditions."

She might have forgotten that Leopold was a shrewd businessman. "I can agree to your three conditions, but you have to agree to three of mine," he countered.

What? She also had to agree to three of his conditions? This seemed fair, but something felt off, though she couldn't pinpoint it at the moment.

To achieve her goal, she could only nod. "Go ahead."

"Ladies first," he said.

"First, you call and get the lipsticks back from Lydia, except the opened ones," Agnes demanded.

His mouth twitched. "It's not right to take back something once given. I'll buy new ones."

"No, I want those few boxes!" she insisted. 'Why should Lydia take advantage of me?'

Leopold was silent.

Agnes got up from his lap.

For the first time in his life, Leopold was put in such a passive position by a woman.

He smirked. "Fine, I agree. What's the second condition?"

Agnes continued, "From now on, your alone time with Lydia should not exceed five minutes. No, in case your sexual ability is lacking, five minutes might be enough for you two to have sex. Your alone time with Lydia should not exceed one minute!" As Leopold's face grew darker, Agnes mustered the courage and held up one finger.

His dignity was not to be insulted.

Leopold couldn't imagine maintaining a smile while his sexual prowess was questioned.

Leopold picked Agnes up and headed towards the lounge.

Agnes panicked. "You haven't agreed to my conditions yet! And where are you taking me? Put me down!"
