Chapter 61

If it were anyone else, Justin would've flipped the table or tossed a room card at them to get lost. But this was Leopold standing in front of him!

And then there was Agnes, who usually acted like one of the guys and always saw herself as just a friend. Now, she had this rare shy look on her face, making Justin grumble under his breath.

Leopold wiped his hands all fancy-like and looked at Dennis, "VIP cards."

Dennis immediately pulled out a bunch of cards from his pocket and stepped forward, "Mr. Neville."

"Alright," Leopold nodded.

With the go-ahead, Dennis handed out four VIP cards for Alioth's fifth floor. Justin jumped up, kissed the card, and then tried to play it cool, saying to Agnes, "Agnes, I'll leave Mr. Neville to you. I'm outta here!"

This VIP card was loaded with two hundred grand, letting him come and go as he pleased, why would he stick around to watch Agnes and Leopold get all lovey-dovey?

As Justin stood up, the others followed. Bella grabbed her bag and whispered to Agnes, "Agnes, Mr. Neville is so good to you. You better hold on to him. If you mention divorce again, I'll kick your ass!"

Agnes stayed quiet.

Clara wanted to refuse at first, but seeing Justin and Bella accept it so easily, she had no choice but to link arms with Jeremy, "Agnes, now that we all have VIP cards, we can come anytime. We won't bother you. Be nice to Mr. Neville!"

Agnes stayed quiet.

Her last hope was Jeremy, thinking he would understand. Jeremy was a man of integrity and strong principles; she hoped he wouldn't give up on her easily.

But before Jeremy could refuse, Dennis cut in, "Jeremy, these prepaid cards are just a drop in the bucket for Mr. Neville. You don't need to worry. You've helped Mrs. Neville a lot, and this card is nothing compared to your help. I heard your brother is having trouble transferring schools, and the head of his desired school loves the food here."

Jeremy and Agnes stayed quiet.

With Dennis's words, Jeremy found it hard to refuse. He shot an angry look at Justin. It was all his fault. Now that he had accepted the benefits, how could he not be humble when he saw Leopold in the future?

"Thank you, Mr. Neville!" Jeremy waved to Agnes and left with Clara.

Watching them leave, Agnes couldn't help but think, ‘When one person succeeds, her friends also benefit.’

Where were their principles? Weren't they just insisting on refusing? As soon as the cards were handed out, how did Leopold manage to buy them off one by one?

Especially Justin, she'd give him a good beating tomorrow!

At that moment, Leopold called out to Justin again, "Justin!"

"Here!" Justin stiffened and quickly turned around.

Agnes snorted and said sarcastically, "Mr. Smith, aren't you usually a fearless rich kid? How come you become so humble in front of Leopold?"

Justin coughed awkwardly and spoke the truth, "Isn't he your husband? I gotta give him some respect."

Leopold, uninterested in his rambling, gave a look, and Dennis tossed a handbag to Justin.

When everyone saw what was in the bag, Agnes shyly covered her face and smiled.

Leopold's move was meant to drive a wedge between Justin and Agnes. He said to Justin, "Mr. Smith, from now on, my wife's matters are for me to handle. You don't need to worry, especially about things like this. If you truly care for her, contact me directly if she needs anything. Dennis, give him my private number."

"Yes, Mr. Neville!" Dennis said.

The repeated "my wife" left Justin with mixed feelings.

To prove Leopold wasn't joking, Dennis quickly pulled out his phone and sent Justin a string of numbers, "Mr. Smith, this is Mr. Neville's private number."

Everyone was puzzled and speechless.

Agnes didn't understand where Leopold's sudden strong possessiveness came from. It was clearly an attempt to distance her from Justin. Fearing Justin's displeasure, Agnes looked up and seriously said to Leopold, "It's not like that. Justin and I are just good friends. It's not right for you to ruin our friendship like this."

Unexpectedly, before Leopold could respond, Justin replied earnestly, "Mr. Neville, I'm so glad you think this way! Agnes, this silly girl, did so much for Michael, but he didn't appreciate it. And now, there is a good man like you cherish her so much, I fully support you. If Agnes needs anything, I'll notify you first."

Justin, who had known Agnes the longest, was well aware of her past with Michael. Agnes becoming a tomboy had a lot to do with Michael.

Agnes was puzzled. Since when did she become a silly girl in Justin's eyes?

Leopold was very pleased with Justin's stance, but his eyes darkened at the mention of 'Michael.' "Dennis, send them back."

"Yes, Mr. Neville," Dennis said.

With only the two of them left in the room, Leopold suddenly pulled Agnes, who was in a daze, into his arms, causing her to lose balance and sit on his lap.

The intimate scene made Agnes blush, and feeling uneasy, she hurried to get up.

Leopold leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Michael?" This name was the first he had heard, and Leopold immediately connected it to the man who had once texted Agnes expressing his longing.

If his guess was correct, they were the same person.
