Chapter 168
Agnes was stunned when she heard the news, as if struck by lightning. Her mind repeatedly processed the fact that Leopold was actually Andrew's student, and Andrew was Kevin's stepfather.
When Kevin was thirteen, his mother remarried into the Wilson Family. However, this new family relationship did not bring Kevin more affection. On the contrary, Andrew treated Kevin with the strictness of an educator, especially in terms of academics, almost to the point of being demanding. Because of this, the rebellious Kevin secretly vowed never to call him "Dad" and never to change his last name to Wilson. This awkward relationship has continued to this day, with both of them still keeping their own last names.
However, as Kevin grew up, he gradually understood that Andrew was actually very good to him. For example, in matters of marriage, Andrew was even more concerned than Kevin's biological mother. In just a few months, he arranged over thirty blind dates for him. If it weren't for Kevin's busy work schedule, Andrew might have arranged three blind dates for him every day.
While passing through the VIP channel, Agnes watched as Leopold took out his phone and made a call. "Mr. Wilson, Kevin has been so bored lately that he came to stir up trouble between me and my wife. If you lack resources for blind dates, I can provide a list of socialites from Lumina City for you to choose from. Yes, you're welcome, Mr. Wilson. She's right next to me, and we're heading to Beacon City together. After that, I'll bring her to visit you. Okay, please send my regards to your wife. Happy holidays, goodbye."
After hanging up, Leopold put away his phone, his expression unchanged.
"Mr. Neville, aren't you afraid of Kevin's revenge?" Agnes couldn't help but tease.
"No worries," Leopold said with a meaningful smile, "If he dares to speak out again, I'll make sure he regrets crossing me."
Agnes was speechless and couldn't help but pray for Kevin in her heart.
After boarding, since Leopold's private jet was in Beacon City, he simply booked the entire first-class cabin. Guided by the flight attendant, they passed a bar filled with snacks and drinks and arrived at the seating area.
Lydia's seat was a single, independent seat with a partition curtain, while Leopold and Agnes sat in a more luxurious couple's suite with sliding doors that could be locked from the inside.
Agnes secretly breathed a sigh of relief at this arrangement. Before boarding, she had worried about what to do if Lydia insisted on sitting next to Leopold. But Leopold had directly resolved the issue with his actions.
It was evening in Beacon City when they arrived, and Leopold's assistant greeted them. After a brief introduction, the car took them directly to the Neville Manor.
It was located in a coastal area, with ribbons hanging at the entrance, creating a festive atmosphere. Knowing that Leopold was bringing Agnes home, his family had been waiting, even delaying dinner.
The car stopped at the main building's entrance, and as soon as the door opened, Agnes immediately felt the heavy atmosphere of the Neville Family. She instinctively tightened her grip on Leopold's hand.
However, before she could greet anyone, a sudden crash sounded in her ear as a porcelain cup shattered at her feet, scattering fragments. If Leopold hadn't quickly pulled her away, she might have been hit.
The living room fell silent, and all eyes were on Agnes. She scanned the room and finally fixed her gaze on a middle-aged man standing by the tea table, his face red with anger, and he was the one who threw the cup.
Leopold's expression instantly turned colder. Holding Agnes' hand, he ignored the fragments on the floor and led her towards an elegant elderly lady.
"Grandma, I've brought Agnes back," he said in a calm yet assertive tone, "Agnes, this is my grandmother."
Agnes tried to calm herself and put on a polite smile. "Hello, Grandma. I'm Agnes. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Tiffany Sullivan glanced at her indifferently, her expression neutral. Then she turned to Lydia, her stern face breaking into a kind smile. "Lydia, come here and let me see if you've lost weight."
Agnes stood there, feeling a mix of emotions. She didn't need to think much to understand that Tiffany clearly did not welcome her.
As everyone gathered around Lydia, Leopold spoke coldly, "Hold on!"
His brief words silenced everyone. They all knew he was standing up for Agnes.
