Chapter 56
Leroy flashed a generous smile at the doomed Cecil. Clifford, though, was seething with hatred, wishing he could bring Cecil to justice right then and there.
"Come here!" Leopold finally spoke up, ignoring Cecil.
Everyone was stunned. Who was Leopold calling?
Agnes knew exactly who it was. Her arrogance from the private room disappeared in an instant. She clutched the hem of her clothes, hesitating to step forward.
After a minute of silence, Agnes slowly moved to Leopold's side, under everyone's astonished gazes.
Leopold looked at her with satisfaction and asked calmly, "Who upset you?"
Despite her current docility, she was fierce towards Leopold when they first met.
At this moment, whether it was the girls, Francis, or Cecil, they were all terrified.
What was the deal between Agnes and Leopold?
Agnes had a feeling that once Leopold got involved, things wouldn't be simple. She sighed inwardly, knowing she didn't enjoy bullying others. "It's nothing; I'll just pay for the damages."
Leopold knew she didn't want to say more, so he called Dennis over. "Dennis, change the legal owner of this club to Agnes."
He added, "Contact the lawyer immediately."
The entire room fell silent because of Leopold's words.
Agnes looked at him in shock, speechless, standing there like a puppet.
Leroy was slightly surprised but quickly started boasting to Clifford, "Looks like you lost the bet. Hand over the gun."
Dennis suppressed his shock, took out his phone, and publicly dialed lawyer Gregory Fields. "Mr. Fields, Mr. Neville has instructed to change the legal owner of Wonderhaven Private Club to Agnes Tudor. Please prepare the necessary documents. Yes, I'll send her information via email shortly. Please handle it as soon as possible."
"No," Agnes said.
She nervously grabbed Leopold's arm, stammering, "Mr. Neville, please don't joke around. I have a weak heart!"
Leopold's gaze shifted from her to Francis. "You handle the rest. If you don't do it well, kneel and apologize to her!"
"Yes, Mr. Neville, Ms. Tudor," Francis almost wet himself in fear.
That night, with just one sentence from Leopold, Agnes went from being a student to the owner of a business with an annual revenue of tens of millions of dollars.
"Leopold..." Agnes said.
Leopold gently took her hand and led her away.
For the first time in her life, Agnes was led away by the man of many women's dreams, under everyone's jealous, and incredulous gazes.
Leopold and Agnes left hand in hand.
Agnes and Leopold sat side by side in the back seat, Dennis in the front passenger seat, and the driver at the wheel.
When they arrived at the villa and the car door closed, Agnes, who had been holding back all the way, immediately spoke to Leopold, "If you wanted to help me out, I'm really grateful. Now that we're home, I hope you can notify the lawyer not to change the legal owner."
"I'm just a student, and I might," She swallowed the last few words.
Leopold's gaze was as sharp as a knife as if mentioning the word "divorce" would get her killed on the spot!
She was really confused. "Mr. Neville, why do you insist on not... Okay, I won't mention that word. Don't glare at me! I'm genuinely curious. Do I have a treasure map? Does having me mean having the massive wealth?" She couldn't think of any other reason why Leopold wouldn't divorce her.
Most people keep their marriages going with love, but there was none of that between them. If she had to guess, maybe Leopold had already fallen for her. The thought of that impossible scenario made Agnes chuckle.
No way! A guy like Leopold would never go for a tomboy like her.
Leopold poured a glass of water and handed it to her. "Aren't you thirsty after all that talking?"
"Yeah." She drank the water and then realized she was hungry. The banquet had been fancy, but the vibe was off, so she hadn't eaten anything.
It was close to nine o'clock. "I want to go out and grab something to eat. You coming?" she asked.
Leopold glanced at her without saying a word.
She couldn't read his mind and pulled out her phone. "Since you're not coming, I'll call Justin."
"Who?" Leopold asked.
"Justin. He probably hasn't eaten either." She was about to dial when Leopold snatched her phone away.
Leopold turned off the screen and headed towards the villa door.
While changing his shoes, he instructed, "Get the car keys. You're driving."
"Okay!" Knowing he had been drinking, she agreed without a fuss.
The BMW cruised slowly through the night. At a red light, Agnes rested her face on the steering wheel and looked at Leopold, who had his eyes closed. "Leopold, call your lawyer."
Leopold stayed silent.
"If you don't call, I will. I have Kevin's number," she said, tapping her fingers to bring up the contacts in the car's navigation system.
"Without my direct order, he won't contact the lawyer." The usually reticent Leopold finally spoke.
"Then hurry up and give the order!" she urged.
"Focus on driving. My decisions are not easily changed." His tone was firm and unquestionable.
As the light turned green, Agnes stepped on the gas and started driving. "What do you want to eat?" she asked out of courtesy, knowing he was not an easy person to deal with.
"Whatever you choose," Leopold said.
'Fine, I shouldn't have asked,' Agnes thought.
The car slowly stopped by the roadside, and Agnes turned off the engine. They both got out, and Leopold looked at the restaurant in front of them with a slightly displeased expression.
Agnes chuckled and pointed to the restaurant's sign. "I was going to find a better place, but I got tempted by a pizza ad halfway here. I suddenly really want to eat Durian Pizza."
This restaurant chain was well-known nationwide and had a good reputation. Otherwise, it wouldn't be in major shopping centers. But to Leopold, it was no different from street food.
After a moment of silence, Leopold walked towards the restaurant entrance with his dignified steps.
Agnes followed closely behind, entering together.
It was eight o'clock in the evening, and the restaurant was bustling. The two of them chose a window seat under the watchful eyes of the crowd.
The waiter was starstruck upon seeing Leopold. Agnes helplessly flipped through the menu and ordered a few of her favorites, "One extra-large Durian Pizza, fruit salad, seafood pasta, and chocolate cake. I'm done ordering. See if there's anything you want."
She pushed the menu towards Leopold, but he didn't even look at it and pushed it away. "I've already eaten."
Agnes was a bit surprised. Could it be that he was just accompanying her for dinner?
The thought brought an inexplicable warmth to her heart.
After the waiter left, Agnes felt the need to talk. "Actually, I'm not a good girl."
