Chapter 18

Finally, she saw her chance. "Let go of me first," she snapped.

Leopold sneered, pausing his actions and pressing his forehead against hers. His voice came out rough, "So young and already selling yourself. How bad do you need the cash? Tell me, what's your price for a night?"

Money was the one thing he had in spades.

Agnes clenched her fists, taking deep breaths to keep her anger in check. She forced a smile, her messy hair and heavy breathing catching Leopold's eye.

"Twenty million dollars," she spat out through gritted teeth.

Leopold's lips curled into a cold smirk, "You think you're worth that much?"

Agnes laughed bitterly, "Mr. Neville, I wasn't finished!"

"Save it; let me check you out first!" Leopold cut her off, knowing she had a sharp tongue.

What a scumbag!

Agnes forced a smile, wrapping her arms around his neck, pressing their bodies together. The room's vibe turned intimate. Seizing the moment, she kneed him hard in his most vulnerable spot.

Leopold's face twisted in pain, his eyes squeezing shut as he doubled over.

Agnes finally smiled for real.

Trying to sleep with her? No way!

"Mr. Neville, what I meant was, even if you gave me twenty million dollars, I wouldn't stay with you! Goodbye!"

Ignoring Leopold's pale face, she broke free, opened the door, and vanished from his sight.

If she had any sense, she'd steer clear of Leopold from now on.

Not far from the room, Ethan, Kelly, and Justin, along with security, were anxiously waiting. If Agnes didn't come out soon, Ethan was ready to storm in. "Agnes!"

"Agnes! Thank God you're out!" Justin ran over and hugged her tight. Then, as if remembering something, he pulled back to check her over, "Did Leopold do anything to you?"

"No," she said flatly.

But her attack had definitely left Leopold hurting.

Hearing this, everyone sighed in relief.

Kelly took Agnes to the lounge to change clothes, and then she and Ethan escorted them off the cruise ship.

"Get some rest when you get home. I'll try to smooth things over with Leopold!" Given Leopold's personality, Agnes had really ticked him off today. Although he didn't know what went down in that room, he was sure Leopold wouldn't let it slide.

"Thanks, Mr. Perez, Kelly, and sorry for the mess at the party today. We're heading back now!" Agnes felt a bit embarrassed. She'd been too impulsive. If she'd just ignored Leopold, she wouldn't have caused trouble at the Perez Group's party.

"It's all good, leave the rest to me! Go on home!" Ethan said.

"Thanks, Mr. Perez. Bye!" Agnes said.

The Mercedes disappeared from Kelly and Ethan's sight. Kelly linked her arm with Ethan's, "Ethan, why didn't you tell her the truth?"

Ethan thought of Agnes's countless confused looks and chuckled, "It's not the right time yet."

"Alright then!" Kelly said.

Ethan grabbed Kelly's hand and headed back to the party.

When Ethan found Leopold, he was sitting in a dark room, smoking, and staring out the window in silence.

"Leopold, she's just a kid. Don't hold it against her," Ethan said.

Leopold stayed quiet, still feeling the pain.

After a long pause, Leopold finally spoke, "I won't hold it against her." But in his mind, he was already plotting his revenge.

Ethan didn't catch the hidden meaning and nodded, feeling relieved.

ZL Group's investigation was quick. Despite the hacker's skills, they identified Grace as the culprit within two days.

Grace got expelled from school and blacklisted. No school would touch a student expelled from Lumina City University School of Economics and Management. Her academic career was toast.

The incident caused quite a stir at the school, but Agnes wasn't too shocked. Only someone as dumb as Grace would play a video at ZL Group's new product launch.

She deserved it.

Thinking about her aunt, Agnes sighed in frustration. Her aunt must be devastated about Grace's situation.

Sure enough, when she got to the Lopez Villa, Grace's dad, Jeffrey Lopez, was fuming, "How could I have such a foolish daughter? Look at what you've done! Not only is your future ruined, but my company got a warning from Mr. Neville! It's bad enough you keep messing with Agnes, but now you dare provoke Mr. Neville."

A servant led Agnes into the living room. Grace, covering half her face, was curled up on the sofa, sobbing. Marissa Tudor, in a long green trench coat, sat with her head in her hands, looking exhausted.

Agnes took a deep breath and softly interrupted Jeffrey, "Uncle Jeffrey."

Hearing her voice, Jeffrey stopped and turned to see Agnes with a slightly guilty expression, "Agnes is here."

Marissa stood up from the sofa, took Agnes's hand, and looked her over with concern, "Agnes, are you alright? Did Mr. Neville..."

Agnes knew what she was asking. Whether it was about her confession to Leopold or the incident on the cruise, anyone in high society who liked to gossip knew about it.

She shook her head and was about to speak when Grace interrupted, "Why are you here? To laugh at me? Get out; you're not welcome here!"

"Grace, shut up!" Jeffrey was furious. They had spoiled Grace, leading to her becoming increasingly unreasonable.

Jeffrey's anger made Grace shrink back, but her eyes still glared at Agnes with resentment.

It was all because of Agnes that Grace had provoked Leopold and been expelled from school!

Agnes ignored Grace and walked over to Jeffrey, tugging at his sleeve, "Uncle Jeffrey, please don't stress yourself out. It's not good for you."

Agnes had known since she was little that Jeffrey had high blood pressure and myocardial infarction.

Jeffrey sat heavily on the sofa behind him and sighed deeply. When would Grace stop causing trouble? If she were half as sensible as Agnes, he would be very happy.

"Agnes, stop pretending to please my parents. No matter how much you try, they're still my parents. Your dad is dead, and your mom doesn't want you anymore!" Grace said.

Grace's scream and the sound of Marissa slapping her face rang out simultaneously.
