Chapter 102 The Young Senior Officer
In the car, Tyler wasn't panicked when he saw the sergeant fire his gun because he thought they had recognized the wrong person. But when Jesse and Emily appeared, he was completely stunned.
After a brief moment of shock, Tyler quickly pulled out his phone, his hand trembling as he dialed the number.
"Hello?"
"Mr. Hernandez, I have an urgent matter to discuss with you. I encountered dozens of unidentified soldiers on Main Street, and they might arrest me. Please find out which department they belong to and pull some strings." Tyler spoke rapidly to the other end.
Brandon, who had been sleeping, was confused by Tyler's fast speech and asked, "My God, what are you talking about? You want me to investigate unidentified soldiers? Do you think I'm omnipotent?"
Sweating profusely, Tyler glanced at the street opposite and immediately reported the license plate number to Brandon.
At that moment, the sergeant and his men surrounded Tyler's vehicle and forcibly opened the car door.
Jesse stood outside, yanked out the young man who had just kneed him, and asked expressionlessly, "Where's your gun?"
The young man looked at Jesse, trembling and at a loss for words.
"I asked you, where's your gun?" Jesse shouted, eyes wide.
Startled, the young man instinctively reached for his back and pulled out a handgun.
Jesse immediately stepped back and pointed at the young man, shouting, "Assault!"
The followers immediately fired their guns, shattering the young man's knees and causing him to kneel on the ground, screaming in pain.
"Get out of the car and squat in a row with your heads covered," the sergeant shouted, holding his gun.
Dozens of soldiers silently cocked their guns, aiming at the car.
Sweating, Tyler reluctantly got out of the car and looked at Jesse. "Which department are you from?"
"Do you know who gave you the authority to run a pharmaceutical company?" Jesse asked expressionlessly.
Tyler was stunned, not expecting the other party to have already found out his identity.
Standing straight in front of Tyler, Jesse said calmly, "The authority to produce and sell drugs was granted by the district. But what you don't know is that people like me fought for this district. Do you think you can be arrogant with me? Do you deserve it?"
Tyler clenched his fists, not daring to speak.
Jesse raised his arm, pulling up his wool coat, and asked Tyler face-to-face, "Don't you have a bit of insight? Do you know what kind of coat this is?"
Tyler blinked, not knowing what was special about the wool coat.
Jesse took the sergeant's gun, his face sulky, and shouted, "Let me tell you, this coat is called a senior officer's winter uniform now, but it used to be called a general's wool coat! With your lack of sense, do you think you can shout in Stardust City? You dare to hit my sister, and if I kill you, the police wouldn't even ask why."
With that, Jesse swung the gun handle down swiftly.
With two dull thuds, Tyler's forehead bled, and he fell to the ground, twitching a few times before passing out.
"Beat him."
The sergeant, following his superior's orders, didn't care about local rich kids, so he immediately shouted again.
The soldiers swarmed in, beating the unconscious Tyler.
Next to the vehicle, Alexander and others, who had just rushed down, looked at Jesse in shock, not knowing what to say.
Andrew blinked, his eyes on Emily, and suddenly sighed. "My passion has been completely extinguished; we're not even in the same world."
After venting his anger, Jesse got into the car with Emily first. Everyone present was then escorted away by the soldiers to the nearest garrison brigade.
The garrison brigade had no supervision or detention facilities, only a few internal punishment cells.
Alexander and others were locked in separate rooms, with no one paying attention to them. They didn't understand the situation, so they didn't dare to say or ask much.
The next day at noon, as Benjamin anxiously paced back and forth in the room, someone outside shouted, "Bring them out and send them to the office."
"Okay." the guard soldier nodded.
Ten minutes later, Andrew, Benjamin, and others were stopped outside the office while Alexander went in alone.
By the desk, Jesse sat in a chair, looked up at Alexander, and said, "Sit."
Alexander hesitated for a moment and then sat opposite Jesse.
"Is your leg injury okay?" Jesse asked.
"It's fine; he stabbed it with the tip of the knife," Alexander replied.
Jesse nodded, picked up a water glass, took out a stack of money from the drawer, and threw it on the table, "My salary isn't much, but I advanced three months' worth, just under $3,000. Take it."
Alexander was stunned. "What do you mean?"
"Thank you for saving Emily in Pine City," Jesse responded bluntly, "But gratitude isn't valuable; money is. Don't be polite; this is my token of appreciation, nothing more."
Alexander looked at him, neither taking the money nor speaking.
Jesse put down the water glass, looked Alexander up and down, and said bluntly, "One more thing, stay away from Emily in the future. As for why, I don't need to say; you understand."
Alexander pondered for a moment, then pushed the money back. "Forget the money. I helped Emily, and she helped me. As for what you said, I understand."
"Good." Jesse nodded.
"Can I go now?"
"I won't see you off." Jesse waved.
Hearing this, Alexander got up and left.
In last night's incident, although Jesse unexpectedly stood on Alexander's side and helped them solve a big problem, he had no good feelings towards them. From his perspective, first, what Alexander did was dangerous, and second, when they met last night, Alexander and the others lied to Jesse. This lie made Jesse feel they might be using Emily.
After leaving the office, Alexander glanced at the sign on the wall, saw 'Inspector General's Office,' and muttered, "Such a young colonel!"
Outside, on the street.
Tyler, his face still bruised and bloodstained, cursed viciously, "I must kill these bastards to vent my anger!"
Last night, Tyler's few minutes of arrogance caused The VitaPharm Company to pull many strings to settle the matter. Brandon alone ran to multiple departments within a few hours.
