Chapter 123 Both Sides Walk into a Dead End

Near South Village.

Alexander held the phone and asked, "Samuel, we still can't reach the other side. Is there something wrong?"

"The person wasn't found by me, so I don't know the exact situation over there," Samuel replied anxiously while smoking. "Well, you guys find a place to hide and wait for their call. The friend I found won't harm me. Even if they can't come, they'll definitely get back to us."

"Alright." Although Alexander was extremely uneasy, he couldn't force Samuel to do anything, so he nodded and reminded, "But we're outside and very close to where the gunshots were heard. We can't wait too long, so they need to get back to us quickly."

"I got it."

"Okay, for now."

After finishing their conversation, they ended the call.

Inside the car, Chris stepped out and frowned, asking, "When can we leave?"

"There's a problem with the departure plan," Alexander replied, turning around. "We're waiting for a call."

"Fuck." Chris turned and cursed, his voice low and agitated. "You planned the fight but not the escape? Are you kidding me? I've told you, Christopher is very powerful here. If you don't get out tonight, you won't get out at all."

Hearing this, Andrew instantly exploded, his face darkening as he retorted, "Is that my fault? Can you get your position straight?"

Chris glared at Andrew, clenching his fists and about to speak, "Kid, let me tell you..."

"Enough."

Alexander impatiently interrupted them, turning to Chris and saying, "Just stay put. We don't need you to arrange our escape, got it?"

Chris gritted his teeth and, with his two friends, stepped back into the car.

On the roadside, Alexander, Andrew, and Benjamin began to discuss.

"What do we do if we can't reach the person who's supposed to get us out?" Andrew asked.

Benjamin pondered for a moment and immediately responded, "Staying here isn't a long-term solution, and the car is too conspicuous. From half a mile away, it can be seen with a bit of light."

"Yeah." Alexander nodded in agreement. "The most important thing is, we don't know when the person coming to get us will respond."

Having experienced many things, Benjamin wasn't too flustered. After thinking for a moment, he instructed, "We should abandon the car and move a bit further from South Village. If we don't hear back in three hours, we'll head into the city."

"Going into the city is suicide, isn't it?" Andrew responded softly, "Terry messed things up here, and Christopher hasn't gotten Tyler back. With the gunshots, the city will be on high alert. Once we go back, it'll be hard to get out, and we have nowhere to hide."

"I agree with Benjamin's plan. We need to go back to the city," Alexander said, taking a drag from his e-cigarette. "Otherwise, come daylight, when the sun rises tomorrow, how will we hide in the open fields?"

"But where do we go in the city? There are so many of us."

"Back to the training base," Benjamin said calmly, "No one will expect us to go back there, including Samuel and the sergeant who arranged this."

Andrew was stunned.

"Alright." Alexander nodded.

"Abandon the car," Benjamin instructed. "Don't burn it, just push it into a snow pit."

With that, the three of them turned and headed towards the vehicle.

At the VitaPharm Company headquarters.

Terry, looking disheveled, rushed in from outside and headed straight for the elevator.

"Mr. Patrick, please wait," a burly young man at the reception desk immediately stood up to stop him, saying, "Mr. Young is not here."

"Can you call him for me? I just need to say a few words," Terry said, grabbing the young man's arm. "Please, buddy."

"Sorry, Mr. Patrick, I can't reach Mr. Young right now either." the young man shook his head.

"Then can you find Mr. Young's second son, Dylan?"

"He's not here either."

"What about Brandon?"

The young man smiled, his eyes fixed on Terry as he replied, "Mr. Young means that you should go back to Pine City first."

Terry was stunned.

"What do you mean? Are you abandoning us?" Raymond suddenly shouted from behind, "One mistake and you deny us a hundred times. Have you forgotten who helped you open the Pine City market?"

The young man looked at Raymond, still smiling, and replied, "Sir, I don't understand what you're saying. I'm just following Mr. Young's instructions."

Terry gritted his teeth, held back Raymond, and said, "Sorry for the trouble, buddy."

"No problem."

A few minutes later, on the steps of the VitaPharm Company entrance, Raymond said through gritted teeth, "Terry, Christopher wants to kick you out."

"Park the car over here. I'm not going anywhere tonight; I'll wait for him here," Terry instructed, his face serious.

"I'll wait."

"No, I have to wait here." Terry waved him off.

Meanwhile.

In the high-security residential area, Christopher walked out of the house with a smile, reaching out to the middle-aged man and seeing him off. "Thanks for your help."

"Don't worry, I'll make the call right away."

"Great." Christopher patted the man's shoulder and said, "It's cold, no need to see me off."

Around 2 AM, the outdoor temperature had dropped to an unbearable level.

Chris, wrapped in his clothes, squatted in the snow, looking up at Alexander and shivering as he said, "I... I have another suggestion."

"What?" Alexander turned and asked.

"If we don't hear from the contact, we should break through tonight," Chris said, his face pale. "Go through the wire fence and cross the radiation zone."

"Are you crazy?" Andrew frowned. "If we cut the fence and get caught by the patrol, we'll be shot on sight. Besides, we have no food. Going through the radiation zone is suicide!"

"There's a slim chance of survival that way." Chris insisted. "But if we don't get out tonight, we'll definitely die in Stardust City. There's no hope of escape."

Everyone fell silent.

"You don't understand Christopher's power here," Chris said quietly, "If he says the word, the patrol and police will help him. If the city is on high alert and we can't get out, we're dead."

Matthew, hearing this, looked at Alexander with some panic and asked, "Leader, what do we do?"

"I'd rather have a meal in Stardust City and get caught and shot than go through the radiation zone." Andrew gritted his teeth. "It's too much suffering."

"My suggestion is still to stay," Benjamin agreed quietly.

"Staying is death," Chris emphasized.

"Isn't going out death, too?"

At that moment, the phone rang, and Alexander impatiently shouted, "Everyone shut up, there's a call."
